Yep, Rico is king
-
Go with Rico, it's the bomb. And most of those paints only mean an extra shot or two to finish off your opponent.
-
Same with fire and any medium or heavy hull
-
Very true. But Isida can be effective in long range battles. Just get begind cover and heal that rail or shaft on your team.
-
Of course neither is in the garage right now.
-
Do any paints have hidden protections? That is, they protect against turrets not listed... I could swear Storm has Ricochet protection...
-
Why can't I register multiple accounts to the same email? I really don't want separate email addresses for each tanki user I play on.
-
That's actually kind of a good idea. Like!

Isida M4 is a great return on crystal investment. You get great improvement on all attributes over M3. Rant mode ON I've posted this elsewhere, but guys, please PLEASE remember that ALL M4 TURRETS ARE BALANCED. This means every M4 will do approximately the same amount of damage over time. Want proof? Just run the numbers on damage and reload across turrets. Then look it it another way. Look at the early unlock M3 weapons and the increase they get by improving to M4. The numbers are like 30% for Isida and Thunder. Then look at late unlock turrets like Firebird and Ricochet. Their M4 improvement is only about 13-19%. The screw? You'll pay the same if not more crystals for that 13% turret than you will for the 30%. Why? False sense of superiority of the late unlock turret. Bottom line - buy the early unlock M3 - in a kit if you can- and MU it to M4 as soon as possible. You will rule the game. Rant mode OFF

^sounds epic for Rail, which I am toying around with on an alt.
-
Good to know. I hear mixed reviews of Dictator, so I don't have it on any alt.

Google search Tanki Ricochet Guide. Or read this thread from the start. Couple of key points from me: I use Rico as my main weapon and love it. 1-Use the bounce. Even when you don't think it will work. The game auto aim's when you bounce a shot off a wall, and does so with much greater precision than you get with direct fire. 2-when you beat someone take a breath and don't just rush to the next enemy. Rico needs time to reload. So stay where you are or hide somewhere until that yellow bar is almost full again. Travel time to your next enemy will fill it the rest of the way. 3-Don't hold down the space bar. Fire four or five shots then wait a second, fire the next, wait, then another. The point is fire only as many shots as it takes to destroy your enemy. Any more is wasted reload time. This takes a lot of practice but will earn you more kills in the long run. 4-Really 3.5... when you drug, fire less shots. Save all that destructive firepower for the next enemy. 5-Only drug when you are going against two or more tanks. Otherwise you are just wasting the drug. 6-Use Double Damage before or instead of Double Armor. That shield won't do you any good if you run out of ammo. 7-use Rico's impact force to knock off the aim of other tanks - aim for tank corners. 8-Get higher modifications (M1-M3) in product kits so you have an advantage other other players. 9-MU this turret several steps at each Modification level. M2 and M3 both need a LOT of MUs. 10-Pair with a sturdy, stable hull. Stick to Hornet, Hunter, or my personal favorite Viking. Maybe Dictator. Heavy hulls can't move fast enough to be effective with this turret. Wasp requires a lot of skill to drive and Rico takes a lot of skill to use - you would have to be EXTREMELY coordinated to make a Wasp-Rico combo work.

Ricochet - completely different gameplay than Rail
-
M'kay... my wholisticly subjective opinion 1 Storm 2 Nano 3 Emerald 4 Mars 5 Clay 6 Prodigy 7 Urban
-
Hunter is better for this. Viking's stability limits how much you can rock the hull.

Yeah, I am just now seeing this. Hoping it is a glitch and the kits will rotate in about an hour as expected. Otherwise..... :( I was planning to buy Firewall on an alt tonight. Assuming it rotates in. UPDATE there is a "closed" thread on this over in Problems and Solutions. There isn't an answer, only that it could be a display issue to a change of mind by the devs. We'll see soon. Good luck to those who wanted to buy the upcoming kits!

My first day playing as a Field Marshal was eye opening. Finding a battle without Gismos was a real challenge. Forget the EN servers. I had to hit RU4 before I could find battles with other Field Marshals but no Gismos. I'm just not strong enough to fight Gismos yet. Sigh.

M3 hands down
-
Vandal. Prometheus if you are okay with tuning dry in DeathMatches and can deal with lots of other Fire paints in high ranks. I might buy Stinger on an alt account. Or I might wait for Ant. Depends on how long Isida M1, which I have now, is good for. .
-
Like I said in my earlier post, I still see a LOT of Storm paints. It might even be the #1 paint overall in the game.
-
Yes, you can destroy a stock M3 Viking with three Hammer shots. You practically have to hit the Viking with EVERY pellet though. But in practice it's usually safer to let someone else land the first hit on a Viking since you have no idea what MUs you are dealing with... And unless you have memorized every paint, there is always the mystery of what they are wearing. Storm is a great example. That 5% Hammer protection doesn't look like much, but when it's 5% of each shot, trying to knock out a Viking, well... Good luck. Then there is Tiger. Hammer's nemesis. Don't even think about attacking a M3 Viking who is wearing Tiger. You might as well shoot the wall. I think Nano is also a problem, maybe Atom too, but I'm not as familiar with those paints and can't be bothered to look them up now.

I won't argue the above. I will instead say that if you pay list price for M3 equipment, you kinda deserve to get ripped off. There is no better example than Viking M3. There are at least five kits with this hull, each slashed by about 40%, so you can pretty much pick the weapon you want. Most of these kits unlock at Brigadier, so you also get M3 hardware before most other players. If you absolutely have to have a turret other than Isida, Thunder, Freeze, Hammer, and Smoky, wait for a sale and snag what you need at 40-50% off that way. Yes there are Hunter kits too, but they unlock much later in the game, and to be honest, none of them are very good. Yes, I bought Redneck because I had to have Rico M4 at Marshal instead of waiting for Commander (blech). I think the price difference is related not to the M3 stats but the DIFFERENCE between that and the stock M2 stats. But heck, I concede that too because Hunter M2 unlocks way earlier than Viking M2. IDK. Actually, it might just be fair market value pricing. Viking is so much better thank Hunter, people are willing to pay the higher price. .

I am Field Marshal. Ranked up this morning in about hour two of the three hour premium mission reward. With the rank up crystals, the double battle funds from premium, and the tier 4 mission chains rewards, I'm in pretty good shape for the upcoming sale.

Many many more rails, but you do see shafts.
