Precisely, you use your own drugs, which can be bought without real money, to counter their drugs. It's not irrelevant. Without buyers, there would either be a pay-to-play game or no game at all. Buyers are still limited to the same stuff you are, they just have more resources. Yes, people who buy crystals are at an advantage. In almost every single game spending more money=more power. The question is whether or not that extra power is too great in comparison to the power of free players. Since guns are limited to ranks and smart cooldowns prevent drug spamming (and both of these you can get yourself for free), I don't think that the game is pay-to-win.

Buyers still have to rank up to unlock new stuff, and since similar ranks get paired together, there's not a game-breaking impact. I will concede there is an impact, but how else do you plan on convincing people to buy crystals? You can also use your own drugs too, you know. You can certainly use your own repair kit, or your own double armor, or use double damage and snipe them before they can pop their own repair kit. Ok, you don't have money but you still like to play Tanki? Despite your bluster about proving your point below, you've proven my own. You clearly don't want to pay for this game. You clearly wouldn't be happy with paying for a subscription, so without crystal buyers there would be no game for you to whine and complain about. I do admit I haven't run into large numbers of buyers (or perhaps I have and simply haven't noticed) and druggers are a bit less frequent in lower ranks, but that doesn't make my main point any less valid: all those druggers and buyers you hate with all your heart pay for this game so you don't have to. Also, you can just pay 5,000 crystals for 1 month of pro battles and you won't have to deal with any druggers at all. So, to recap: Buyers are still limited by ranking and smart cooldowns on drugs, it's not like they can use all their drugs at once or bring an M3 shaft into a lower ranked battle Druggers and all those other wretched folk can be avoided by using a pro battle pass, further reducing any balance issues Buyers pay for your free game, something you clearly aren't willing to do

I still don't see why everyone is pitching a fit about buyers. Tanki is simultaneously free to play and one of the most balanced microtransaction-based game I've seen in a long while. Buying crystals just allows you to purchase turrets slightly more easily, and more drugs which you can use slightly more freely than other players. You're still bound to ranks and smart cooldowns. People buying crystals are what makes the game playable for everyone, even those who whine about how tanki is "pay to win". If it really ticks you off so bad, then buy your own crystals? You can't or won't and don't think everyone else should be able to either? Well either you'll have to pay a subscription fee, which you probably can't or won't, or tanki goes bankrupt, and you can't play at all. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Freemium is the closest you get, so enjoy it while it lasts before you manage to drive it into the ground with your incessant complaints.

This. When creating a game, fun always takes priority over realism (unless the game is specifically marketed as hyper-realistic). A hidden, practicially undetectable sniper may be more realistic, but getting 1shot without even knowing where it came from is no fun, especially if there's no killcam.
