    Let's Discuss Firebird!

I actually agree that high pressure pump is a great alteration and entirely prefer it to stock firebird. But while I like it myself, I don't directly recommend it to people I don't know, and this is for three reasons. 1) If I don't know the person, I can't tell if they will be able to aim with the reduced cone angle, and they might do badly with it, either because they are bad, or play on a weaker computer or on mobile. 2) It doesn't have as obvious an effect as the other alterations when you're hitting someone right infront of you, in the form of standout damage counters or bright red enemies, which causes some people to wrongly consider it a waste. 3) Even though it's cheap for us, it's expensive for casual players at its unlock rank, and I don't care to be responsible for their investment, or the potential criticism when it doesn't help. None of these reasons are actual weaknesses in a battle, but are still important. Compact Fuel Tanks isn't better than High Pressure Pump with supplies enabled, I think it's worse. But it's still more popular. If that was too long, TLDR: I usually recommend the more popular alterations, stronger or not. Statistically higher chance of working for casual players. And props for using high pressure pump.

Incendiary Mix when supplies are on, Compact Tanks when supplies are off.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

Shock Freeze can still freeze enemies with 50% protection quite easily.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

I just played a test battle, and did normal damage. Your experience is caused by the noob phenomenon, which can occur when someone is A) Using firebird on the bumpy map, B.) Using wasp on the bumpy map, C) Playing like they are compact tanks or D) A combination of being afflicted with impact force, Driving too fast for their own aim, And failing to get in optimum range. High pressure pump is even worse on Massacre. Edit: A) B) C) D) *Whoops*

Episode 219 of the V-LOG is live!

I have to bring up the fact that the firebird wasp at 0:55 looks very sketchy. I'm not going to laugh and say that a speed hacker is in the V-Log, but it's possible. Other than that potential oversight, fine V-Log.

    When you were a nub...

    I didn't turn my turret.

    Let's Discuss Titan!

I'd say the more common mistake is placing a dome where it's not far forward enough where you can do consistent damage to spawning enemies. There are faster hulls for "roaming."

You can say handy, I'll stick to easier to use.

    Let's Discuss Titan!

Because with perfect management, titan could get 4 overdrives (or 1 minute and 20 seconds of effect) in a matchmaking battle, whereas Isida can heal for all seven minutes.

    Let's Discuss Titan!

I see no problems here. Of course a temporary ability that must be charged up should be stronger while in use than a turret that has constant strength throughout the whole battle.

Lag, and uranium's reduced projectile speed, can combine to cause that problem.

Update - Maps, Balance, Challenge/WAR extended.

Part of the suggestion was increasing that limit.

Update - Maps, Balance, Challenge/WAR extended.

I still felt like freeze was worth using at 7 seconds, but I prefer shooting for 12 seconds than 6.5 seconds.

And plenty other turrets that can be unlocked early and then micro-upgraded. Freeze is not the only one.

    That's a product kits problem.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

I do like freeze light hull, but protections from turrets you should be avoiding fire from anyways, will make it less effective.

    Titan OD is OP

This is not true. Nobody else feels this way. You undermine your entire argument by including this statement.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

Right now, I feel like freeze is one of the most difficult turrets to make viable. Your problem is somewhat related to this. Most of the time nowadays, freeze feels like a compliment to a stronger base strategy such as "I am using hunter for it's overdrive on the blue team in assault mode. I'll use freeze for a backup plan to stop attackers while my one-button outplay is charging up and unavailable." You can make your own example. However, I don't think your particular combo works as an example for this. When I look at you, I see Freeze as the strongest aspect of your game plan, and that just won't work as well. Your only hull above m1 is wasp which is quite limiting. Stat wise, it's fast and has fragile. We know that. Considering that your only protections are from thunder, railgun and shaft, you are incredibly weak against anything else in your range class unless you come from behind, which I will get back to. Considering the bomb, It's good if you hit multiple enemies with it obviously, but a conundrum appears when you die trying to approach those enemies over and over before getting in bomb range (again unless from behind.) Only being able to come from behind to engage someone is limiting. Your defensive positions are far fewer, because any attackers that find you head on will destroy you, and they are decreasing with every new long-ish range turret added. If you get seen in midfield, you are equally toast. And if you do get in behind the enemy base? Well, you lost any time advantage that you originally gained from wasp's speed. Matchmaking battles are now 7 minutes long, effectively 6. That's not enough to fool around in behind the enemies' base. The best combos are the ones that make a difference for all of those minutes. When I use Freeze, I find it important to not limit myself, because being able to attack or defend wherever and whenever, is one of the biggest advantages I can push, and it can sometimes change the outcome of the battle. So there is only one way that you use Freeze. I think that you use it how it was originally designed to be used right back when it was made, and I respect you for that. But right now, you are the lowest rated Legend 22 that I have ever seen. I can only imagine that rating is currently going downwards, a little bit more after every update. One thing you are right about, is that the game is changing. I think it's time that you change too. The last thing I want to say, is that unlike any other turret, Freeze gets its reputation from its users innovation, not from ridiculous power. Isida, for example, is known only for the reason that people have abused it for many years. At one point, it had up to 50% lifesteal. At another point, the highest DPS in the game. At another point, it could outheal pretty much anything. At some points, more than one of those combined. Freeze, on the other hand, has never had any of that, apart from the DPS for maybe two weeks. For all the rest of that time, people have been making it work and work fearsomely. So, I think you can make it viable too. Good luck.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

I don't think I could understand your issue without some video of it or something. Firebird M3 not crushing M2s is hard to believe frankly. When you speak of your scoreboard issues, I can only imagine an inconsistency between your personal goal (Get first place and stars?) With your alteration and attack style (Burn enemy heavily but leave them weakened for teammates to finish off?)

    Let's Discuss Ricochet!

Ricochet can work well with hornet if you are able to keep distance from close range Viking combos.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

Yes, Compact Tanks is not designed for a 1v1 if you can't hide behind something such as a building immediately after letting loose. That could be why you are having trouble. I can only suggest trying some 1v2s and consuming double the repair kits (on a large enough scale, blowing repair kits does help your team), though this will not work if you are seen too soon.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

Get in their base, then do the killing. Not the other way around. To be honest I haven't used compact tanks recently. I'll take your word for it.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

It truly sounds like you are dying from heatstroke in Antarctica. Hunter is far more stable than Viking as the weight stat is balanced such that stock M2 hunter has the same weight as stock M3 Viking, anyways firebird has no impact force. If possible, try to approach other players from the sides or from behind in a sort of "surprise attack."
