I never really saw Magnum as being the DM type. Unless she was entrenched in several layers of mines or was just wandering around.
-
Exactly how I'd put it. I learned in an afternoon, and I'm able to completely ruin an offense by tapping space. Not only that, but I can cripple a defense as WE'RE attacking from behind cover! Tell me that isn't OP.

I never knew Wasp's name in Russian was "Bacon"!

The hull that can be burned by said napalm? Maybe it's in a special container or something. Keep in mind that it happens in a matter of seconds, not a few minutes. I can't find a decent article on how fast metal reaches the melting point, but I'm sure that napalm would at least take a minute if it was just sprayed onto the hull. It also comes out as gas, as it's a stream of flames that go out as soon as the trigger is released.
-
No, but apparently it's fully legal to own and operate one. Huh. Isn't napalm mostly anti-infantry though? And why doesn't it burn through wherever it's stored on the turret? All that aside, what metal are the tanks made of? It's apparently widely used since all the tanks burn at a somewhat equal rate, and my guess is that hulls like Mammoth just have more of it to burn
-
I agree. Even in TX they use the same glowing effect to signify heat, which is more realistic, but it implies the tanks immediately reach a molten state. Surely Firebird isn't THAT hot!
-
How would a gas attack have any effect on tanks?
-
From my experience as a gun emplacement, it can kill a Wasp of equivalent or lower level in one shot if the shell hits EXACTLY on the Wasp. It can be about a millimeter off target, but that's it. WITH DD, however, even the medium damage is able to rekt that Wasp. The only way I know to tank the shot is if you use DA, which will be like intercepting a Railgun shot. Hope that helps.

"Stop using things I don't have against me in a skillful way and fight me naked wearing a giant shrimp suit!" Is what I hear when they say that.

My own inability to know when to quit.

What about an AOE symbol that appears as an early warning system? It wouldn't detract from the overall OP-ness, but it would at least make it a little more fair than sudden death from above. AND, it would make it have a role as a dedicated anti-Shaft weapon, since only an unaware tank would be in range.
-
For Railgun; Solid emission In exchange for lower damage, the shot now hangs in the air a little longer and can damage tanks as long as it's there. Like a long ranged afterburn.
-
Wow, RNG loves me then. Just like in Fire Emblem.

But it's a lazor. :0

As it stands we have three explosive ordinance weapons: Thunder, Magnum, and Striker. We also have four Plasma weapons; Twins, Ricochet, Railgun, and arguably Shaft. What we have very little of is ballistic weapons like Smoky, Vulcan, and Hammer. As far as Thrower weapons, we have the three elements; Fire, Freeze, and Electricity. We could either add a new Thrower or yet another Explosive weapon. Otherwise, I'd say it's pretty balanced.
-
Well, Magnum is marketed as a Heavy killer, right? Maybe that'll be it's niché.
-
Okay, so what makes Shaft and Railgun balanced? Aside from the obvious, they both have some indicator of when they're going to fire. Unlike it's long ranged brethren, Magnum has zero visual indication of it's charge. This of course makes it harder to find unless you follow the VERY brief trail of smoke that appears behind the shell, that or see the tip of the barrel from behind cover. So, my plan? Make Magnum light up slowly as it charges it's shots similar to a flag that's been taken. This will do two things; 1. It will give you and idea of where the shot is going, and 2. It will reveal where the Magnum is holed up. Then you can plot your course accordingly and easily make your way towards them. Tell me what you think below!
-
It died for me when Semyon left. I guess Magnum is alright, gives me something else to play around with.

Easy, ten degrees for when mobile, as it can hit a little farther than Thunder's effective range. When behind a small barrier, switch to fifteen degrees so you can get some height while still being direct fire. Twenty and higher for hiding behind the walls in Parma that are on most maps. But, any higher than twenty and it becomes plunging fire and deals a little less damage for splash.
-
I have an idea for an Isida alteration: Hippocratic Oath! In exchange for being unable to attack, the turret can now heal at a slightly faster rate and heals itself slowly while healing a teammate like the old vampire feature.
-
I think the splash damage could go in exchange for a little more overall damage, since then it would be a highly-damaging shot on a direct hit. But, then again, with no splash damage all it becomes is a glorified Shaft that can shoot over buildings.
