    Titan-Railgun chapel [TRC]

As it is Wednesday, I see fit to bless you with my preachings as pope of this chapel. I shall begin with the concept of hull movement. Like many of you know, or at least have figured out, in Tanki most turrets and hulls do not mix. However, as I have been blessed with this divine power I shall share, I have come to realize this is simply not true. It all relies on turret rotation speed and hull rotation speed. In the case of Titan with Railgun, Titan can rotate it's hull much faster than it can rotate it's turret. Due to this, it is imperative that you rotate both in order to hit closer targets in time, even if at a shallow angle. You might have criticisms such as the fact that Titan is a long tank, and thus is subject to impact force. But I have an old and advanced tactic for you; Anticipation. When facing a Smoky, even the most skilled tanker will not expect you to rely on his impact force. You have to make some guess work, but the concept is a devious one. Begin firing at him, and as you charge up move your turret as he fires at you to knock you off. If timed right, he will have no time to fire again before you send a fresh bolt of our divine power into his chassis! I have only managed this a few times, but it will add a psycological effect on the Smoky's aim. "I can no longer rely on my impact force!", he'll think. That is all, please offer your services to the weak and fight for divinity. As always, the link to induct yourself to our chapel is here; http://docs.google....ckHYEQ/viewform

Turrets that bear a striking appearance

Yeah except you trade off a sideways view for a straight forward one. And if you move it to a bird's eye position, it negates being able to see a Railgun about to hit you. I just stay out of the way altogether.

    Tanki: Dying... dying... dead?

It depends on what you mean by standing in the open. I personally think that if you can successfully lead a charge and coordinate an attack with your team of ADHD-ridden teammates without using the chat, props to you.

We kind of are, in a way. No turret rotation means we have a limited view of our surroundings.
  5. Like I said, I don't trust robots. I'd love to spawn in on a Island CTF with my Railgun.

    Tanki: Dying... dying... dead?

I'd say I agree, but I work around camping constantly. I've never been good at being out in the open because it requires a level of reflexes and accuracy I don't have. If I had more time in my day to devote to the game, maybe I could improve, but all things considered, camping is an easy tactic for the weak like me.
  7. How will battles be created? I don't trust robots.

    Tanki: Dying... dying... dead?

The idea of skill in Tanki is vague. In order to compete you need three basic things understood: How to move your tank and turret, how the battle flows, and how to use supplies smartly. Ever wonder how those druggers have so many supplies? It's because they know how to ration them out by going for the free drops. Even I, with my 105 stockpiled Speed Boosts, don't just use them without a second thought.

What kind of players makes you cringe?

Magnum makes me cringe because of the lack of a rotating turret. It just looks unnatural.

Turrets that bear a striking appearance

Let's start with the obvious, Freeze's ice looks like vomiting. You'll never convince me otherwise.

Which controls keys do you use?

I just use the default arrow keys+spacebar+z-c. By this point trying to work against muscle memory would yield mediocre results at best.
  14. What is the point of all of this toil? Fighting for blue crap and other spoils? This work is hard and it's all for naught! More work and less thought!

    Tanki: Dying... dying... dead?

Which, I should point out, sometimes outweigh the regular battles in my rank. The pass is even cheaper now the lower your rank is, so there should be no excuse.

    Titan-Railgun chapel [TRC]

Welcome, brethren and newcomers alike. I am T-34-3m, the pope of our little underground church. In this topic, the one and only Titan-Railgun will be discussed as an underrated and overpraised combination of survivability and long-range support fire as it should be. The ten commandments are listed here; Members: T-34-3m: Pope Chalcanthite: High priest More shall come.

Your Worst Enemy in Tanki Online ?

    Invisible potholes.

Do you think Tanki is pay-to-play?

A lot of people don't realize this, but it's a pretty big secret: Tanki Online is a business. It LOOKS like a game, but much like Chuck E. Cheese it's there to generate revenue from people willing to spend money for a good time. The people who think it needs to adhere to their plebian demands are pretentious and scummy, to say it nicely.
  19. I think part of the reason I prefer TX now is because it's more lenient to casual players. I got school to attend, man!

    Let's Discuss Magnum!

I generally try and find an out-of-the way spot and take potshots, but on Esplanade the best place is the center area at the top with the repair kit, since it takes only the minimal 10 velocity and a little power to cover the entire lower half. And the height advantage means lobbing shots is unnecessary.

    Let's Discuss Magnum!

I think we found the one turret that could be used with any hull. Wasp for extremely tight camping spots, Hornet for pursuit/close fire support, Viking for stabilization, Hunter for balance, Dictator for height, Titan for survival, and Mammoth for being a roadblock and congesting everything helping.
  22. They should hook up a Hifonics amp to that sucker with some subs. Hard to notice an Isida until it's too late. Plus the whole "Oomoomoomoom" sound is kinda weak.
  23. Well, yes, but my main point was that before that update they were different enough that they had their niches. Now they might as well be alternate skins of one another. Going by statistics alone, the only thing Viking has over Hunter is speed. Which is the POLAR OPPOSITE of what they were! It's just a little bit frustrating when I preferred the older, more defensively oriented Viking over a much more expensive, later to upgrade, speedier Hunter, but then they swapped the two without any rime or reason! At least during the economy rebalance, they refunded everything and, y'know, didn't dump it on everyone needlessly.
  24. I hated the "make Viking and Hunter more comparable" update. Now Viking is just a slightly inferior Hunter with a flat body.

    Tanki: Dying... dying... dead?

Nah, the game just became a guessing game of finding the server everyone in your rank is hiding in.
