??? You're teh first person I've run across to state protection reduces impact force. I haven't seen that. Any time it's come up on the forum the general assumption has been protections do not reduce impact. But now you have me wondering and wanting to test it. I play smoky with the impact alteration but to be honest smoky protections are not too common. Next time I see some smoky protections in battle I guess I have found my laboratory mice.

I have to admit this sounds like a pretty good modification. Does the next meteor have your name on it? By the time you see it's coming for you it's too late! :lol: And it would make the race more race-ish.

I have no idea what devil paint is or who these (as you put it) "people" are. :) I don't follow what you mean about "flanking their kills". And what role would this "emperor" have? Are you just talking about a symbolic leader or about three players given TO War functions no other players have? Anything you have to add about these things you heard would be welcome.

Actually, no, that is not how probability and randomness work at all. This is exactly my point. Randomness means at normal rates some games will have zero drops. Some games will have more than 1 drop. And some games will gave exactly one drop. Your comments presumes every games has 1 drop always but never two. Therefore very game should have 10 drops, not 9, not 11, but ten. Randomness means if you get a coin out of your point and flip it it will come up heads or tails. If you flip it a second time it will come up heads or tails. It will not come up the exact opposite of flip #1 every single flip #2. Don't feel bad. Probability and statistics are areas of math taken incorrectly more often than correctly. 57% of all left-handed Oxford Leap Year graduate know that. ===== Just played a Rugby game on Tribute. We were down 5-0 with about 3.5 minutes to play. Other team thought they had it in the bag started caring about golds. With 1:45 left we made it 2-5. With about 0:15 left we tied it. My stack of killed GB Kittens gave me 1st on my team so the tie meant extra <ching! ching!> for witlle WhittleWille.

All these "feels like" comments are utterly meaningless. Randomness means some games will have no drops even at thw dazzling "10x". "Feels like" means to the the statistician "I got no nothin'". I've just played a game where 2 dropped at basically the same time followed by two more falling at the same time about 15 seconds later followed by a 5th single drop about 30 seconds after that. Does THAT "feel like" 10x to y'all? Five in less than a minute? Of course no one but me was trying to you now actually play the game. OTOH thank you for your death I will add your ear to my collection.

What good does this doe players like me who use the Assault Ammo alteration. I don't have a crit hit I have extra impact force. This alteration would be left in the dust because the new crit hit would b too powerful to give up. Pm the other hand Smoky's m2 alteration would be used all the time. Imagine Smoky landing 1800+ damage that cannot be reduced by modules. If this were teh system the Crit hit and normal damage table would have to be re-worked in order to being some sort of balance between crits and normal damage. Edit: In short this ain't gonna happen.

Thank for merging this. I should have remembered this thread. I know I'd seen it. Well I know this seems small but can you pass along the request? It is getting very annoying. This module change means a distinct new way to play TO. Garage changes will be a matter of every few minutes. This interface gets used all the time. 10 wasted keystrokes or mouse clicks per visit, 2-3 visits / game ... tedium starts to detract at some point. This really needs to move to single page so players can plug and chug on back to battle.

When they changed Railgun it was announced the change was designed so Railgun would occasionally need three shots. This situation was created intentionally. This is how TO devs want Railgun. It's been 18 months. At some point in time will the railgun community grok that the old system is not returning? Isida users are not still posting, hey bring back 50% self heal! It took awhile but we figured it out. :unsure:

OK I decided to burn 10 more batteries using the drone all game. See if there was any sense of getting more ODs. When MM let me in the gam the clock read about 9:40 remaining. I had the drone quipped before the game started. Rnks were pretty close. Enemy team held the initiative most of the time. I played aggressively to fuel the drone scoring 18 kills. I do not think I lost any to self-destruction this game. I got 3 OD uses during the game. I used them right away to get the next clock ticking. I was hoping to see it'd be possible to get 4 ODs.. Nope. I fot the thrid one with about 2:30 remaining. No way I was getting to four. So when I was killed with about 1:45 remaining I un-equipped the drone and respawned. At the end of the game my battrey burn was 8 which matched the clock readings. I did notice one thing. When you get a kill with teh drone up the little guy vanishes until the next battery cycle. Then it re-apears. SO there is a visual cloe to when you trigger teh drone. HOWEVER... if this caused the OD clock to move any faster I didn't see it. I will not use this thing again until it has several moe mu steps. At mu 4 the thing seems to have almost no effect. I might have had 3 ODs in the game even w/o the Drone. If drones are 'pay to win' it is going to take a LOT of 'pay' to get a little 'win'.

Hate is using "makes sense" just as a rhetorical opening not to discuss physics. Because... ...Zehmiel here knows no ballistic projectile gains momentum while in flight. I seem to recall Tesla has some Death Ray thingie but I don't know the details. I'll look into it thanks for the lead. Yes you are right too. A Railgun IS based on kinetic energy but it is a ballistic projectile same as is a cannon ball. Both slow down over distance. At least they do one Earth's surface. But laws of physics don't have much to do with TO echnology :)

Consarn'd rabbits ev'rywhar this week <blam blam blalblamblamblamblam> I will admit I miss not being able to pick a map this week. Smoky impact alteation knocks those light hulls off bridges so fun. I agree with you on speed ups in general. But at the low end of the MU ladder they are useful in 50/70 sales. For example let's say you have 3 steps done. You do step 4 at the sale day start. 23 hours later you finish that off with a speed up and start step 5 before the sale day ends. The 23 hours represents a significant portion of the step 4 waiting period. You still save some money overall on step 4 and the full 50% on step 5. It is roughly the same as doing steps 4 and 5 at a 30% discount. For steps 4 and 5 that is a bonuis savings. In general I am willing to pay full MU price up to step 4 (modules) or step 5 (hulls/.turrets). (I am taking about the 10 point MUs scales here) But at a 50-/50 sale I haven't checked to see if the prices justify doing this,

Shaft can "snipe" is it does 1 point of damage per sot or if it does 100,000 points. It still to be balanced. Magnum apologists say the same thing. "Magnum is supposed to be the most powerful turret"" and stuff like that. I rented it once way back but I had just bought Shaft. I did not understand how all the alt really worked. The slower turret rotation also put be off. But now that I own the alt do not really notice that much. Anyway now that I have it I see how useful it is, I know I am a best average with Shaft but even I find it so easy easy easy to kill. I just do not like the camping style so I do not use Shaft often. Yes you can melee with shaft too. But that account owns Smoky so why melee with shaft?

Why does this tank combat game's entire player base care more about catching Mario Brothers gold coins than they do about playing a tank combat game? How did so many people who want to play Mario Brother join a tank combat game in the first place? It never fails to amaze. I've caight zero and expect to catch zero. But I have killed dozens of Gold Box worshipers. Sazzm frazzm you are right. There goes my planning. Since when has a MU sale ever been 50/50 before?! I'm guessing this is the new way it will be forever. I guess TO wants to soak peole who 'power-mu". I wan't going to power mu really but I did hope to put 2 notches on the Drones. Those things take forever to MU to a point it is even worth testing them. W/O extensive MU te things do not justify the battery burn.

Any change which would split the one large MM layer pool into two dozen different player pools will never occur is my guess. Players would face longer waits and more lag. MM is one big common set of conditions for everyone. The Pro section if for choosing maps and all other battle variables too. TO is not going to change this basic structure.

What I meant is even at 10x there are going to be battles with 1 or 2 drops. The drop rate increase is plainly obvious. If you do not see more GBs dropping per 10 minute overall (all battles not just a few outliers) then you have not played too much or have ha an astronomical streak of bad luck with the RNG. It is ever thus lol. ---- (PS: The ugliest paint has gotta be Zombie. The ice cream cone one is not far behind. Rhino looks good on the 'sample swatch' but on a tank it just looks wrong.)

Played again with Driver, mu=4. That is a 12 second speedup time for a kill. I joined an ongoing game with about 7 minutes left, ASL, my team Blue winning. So after my 1st death I equipped the drone with just under 6 minutes remaining. It seemed to speed up the OD cycle a little but it was hard to see ID meter move faster. So I don't know. I think this drone might be worthwhile only after a lot of MU. without the drone it is easy to get 2 OD uses. With the drone you get a third towads the end of the game. If you got a 4th OD maybe then it'd be efffective. Meanwhile all the other drones pretty much help out a little bit here and there. You get a little assistance during teh whole battle. With Driver you masically just get one big boost towards the end. Well that's what I'm spending 100k or more to learn.

I was alluding to that in my previous post. You can snap shot a scoped shot very quickly on a partial power-up. That does only partial damage. But it can be enough to take out a light hull with DD up. With the m2 alt these snap shots recharge very fast. So you can rattle off low power-but scope-accurate snap shots very quickly. On Massacre it is nutss. I am not good with shaft but 4 out of 5 games I can sit on one of the rear elevated corners all game long and get 20-30 kills. Well not essential but yes they can be quite helpful. Any turret can aid the team so long as the player is working for that goal. The problem ususally arises when half the team or more are shafts and/or magnums. Too many campers spoils the brotehr or something.

"TO = Pay2Win" is really just a form of denial. Anyone can leave a string of burning wreckage in their wake in the basic section. TO is Pay to Strut. Want to level up ASAP? Want to show off with paints? Be a GB Daddy everyone wuvs? Play your favorite version of the rules? Get into the clan wars gaming level? For the extras you'll probably have to pay some. No problems for me. Strut away.
