The whole point of the XTs is aesthetic, and perhaps to be a mark of prestige. There's not really Supposed to be a solid reason to get them. Once Tanki introduces that, I'm done.

4...5 shots does not mean 4...5 kills. Many times it just means a weakened tank, which is an easier kill for other players, moving them higher up in the battle list.
-
True, but the ultimate goal of survival is to get more kills. DM scores are based on how many kills you have, not how little deaths. If you plan on only killstealing, than yes. In other respects it's quite hard to tell.

You and I are talking about different things. The artillery shells have penetration and strength based on the explosive itself(coming from the radius of the explosion), not the speed it cuts through the air. A shell like the one smoky uses would lose velocity over distance, and therefore would be less effective. The Abrams is a smoothbore-fitted tank, therefore a variety of shells and missiles can be used. HEAT shells are one of the types, another one is SABOT rounds. HEAT rounds rely on the shaped charge itself to penetrate through armor, not the muzzle velocity. Please be specific.

Well some people changed their missions for crystals in the hopes of getting a Halloween mission, because they saw the map as still there, so it was kind of unfair. But yeah, people shouldn't complain that much. I loved the Halloween map and I played on it regardless of missions.
-
But why don;t they make 8 alterations for each turret, and make them available for XT's as well? There's really no point to making XT alterations.

The gold drop rate is 1/10000 for every crystal added to the battle fund. Which means that on average, a gold box drops once every 10000 crystals. So if the battle fund is 20k, two gold boxes should've dropped. For a battle fund of 2k in a normal battle, there's a 1/5 chance of gold. 5 times higher rate means that on average one gold box will drop every 2k crystals of the fund, which is what I experienced on the Halloween map. Most of my 15 minute battles are around 2k battle fund, and on average 2 dropped per battle, so actually my expectations for the gold drop were exceeded. -
I know non-buyers get XT missions, but those are rare, and buyers often just buy crystals and get the XT stuff just to look cool. If they unlocked a whole new set of alterations....No way. The main point is to look cool and it's a mark of prestige.

^Unfair to non-buyers.

Wait..You're a gismo and you don't have an m3 hull? -
Probably only good as an option that could be turned on in pro battles..in normal battles it's a player-player agreement, and you can't do anything about people who kill during gold drop. That's their decision. However, I find that as soon as someone starts firing, thats an automatically request to fire back at them, so they usually die before the actual gold drops anyway.

9/10, always spamming forum games because he's got nothing better to do :D

Highlighted part is exactly my point. Freeze is a shortrange turret. Shortangers have so many situations where they can't fight back. You know, when you have a short range turret and the thunders and railgun just keep hitting you and backing away? Not being able to fight back IS the most frustrating thing in the game. I DO agree with that. And short-range turrets generally experience this problem the most. You know the feeling when you are just getting spawn-killed by a shaft parking in a spot overlooking your base and you have a short-range turret, so you can't do anything about that shaft? There are many ways you can fight back against freeze. Stay out of it's range and your fine. Or kill them before they get to you.

I did read your post, in fact I read your last sentence especially. You should probably make yourself more clear.
-
If you don't see a reason for buying it, why do you want to buy it?
-
Yes you do, but your statement about solid shells doing the same damage over distance is false.
-
No. Just no. They had many chances to fight back. If a freeze got within range that was your fault. And now there's no point to the effect anymore, as all the turrets can just follow you around as you circle them. I was so happy to finally get the freeze effect working only to see it taken away again. Even if it did need a nerf, it definitely didn't need to go back to prebalance conditions.
-
Nah that kinda ruins the point...
-
The point is to have all the tanks in a certain area damaged. Maybe this will change once artillery comes out.
-
No, other tanks do not shield you from splash. That would ruin the point of the splash damage, which is to damage all tanks in a certain area or to hit people hiding around the corner.
-
You have enough m1s. Save up for m2s. Since you don't buy it's imperative that you have good equipment at your rank. It's terrible to be stuck with m1s against m2s. Play Polygon. It's good for crystal earning and your turrets/hulls are perfectly suited for that map.
-
Exactly my point. Because of thunder's high damage, you don't need to shoot in at exactly the right moment. There is a high margin of error as for your shot that will still give you the kill, and it's worse with DD.
