Can someone tell me what role a shaft typically plays in a battle? Sitting and building a good d/l does not count, as the enemy simply respawns

Keep this wasp/hornet discussiion going. Also, I noticed in the poll, Smoky was the second highest turret to go with wasp. Can someone explain why this is so? Rail is good because you only reveal yourself long enough to shoot...Fire/Freeze is good because it speed lets you only reveal yourself for a short moment. With smoky, you have to be in line of sight long enough to get multiple shots off. I enjoy wasp smoky, but it never feels as good as rail/thunder or short rangers Here the second highest rated turret is smoky. In the hornet forum, smoky isnt anywhere near the top. What is the difference?

Maybe I've just missed the best days of competitive TO. Were there ever a lot of streams for esports? Just for my sake could you define "You arent helping the forum situation"?

I'd love for this game to become mainstream. I dont think I've played a lot of games where growth in skill can grow over time as much as here. A vet who has played 400 hours can destroy a new player because he has put in 400 hours of game.

It does seem that when ppl talk about fun, they usually mean slaughtering everyone. I agree that is fun, but I've been getting some really tough, close games lately

I dont particularly enjoy Assault, and certainly not DM since few things in life are based on individuals. CTF and CP have always been my favorite as they allow the greatest variety of tank combos. In TDM its basically pick your heavy hull and shoot. Also, MM has paired me a lot as the only non legend in a battle, but the games have been really good. After a rocky start I am really liking the fixes they have made

The metagame should take care of any unbalanced weapons. Magnum is probably OP, but lots of ppl kill magnums on sight so it isnt everywhere. Hopefully the new module update should allow ppl to set their protections to deal with the most powerful turrets, allowing others to succeed

You know, I have seen a topic calling for Thunder to be both buffed and nerfed. I think this is a natural result of so many people playing thunder. If you think too many people are using pro-thunder, switch to smoky or another turret. Metagames should flow and change which turrets are better and which are worse. However, because everyone buys Raider kit when they get to m3 level, everyone has thunder protection. Thunder/Twins/Fire is my go-to protection because so many ppl insist on using those turrets. I like smoky now because so few ppl use smoky protection

I think anyone who has batteries should use them only on trooper drone and only when the enemy team is in your bases spawn killing everyone. At least that will keep you from joining the ranks of the dead instantly

You want to keep this game successful? I would say you need to cater more to a more mature audience. This game is so fun and takes a lot of skill. The difference between a new player and experienced player is clearly seen, but with many players being young, some just cannot play at the level of older ones, nor will they spend money. Two suggestion: Maybe more realistic graphics in the map. The shapes are fine, but perhaps textures could be looked at. Push competitive play. Compare it to successful card games. Players come in young for the casual play, but stay for the competitive play. Hold more competitions and stream them. Then the best players will be well known and other players who might quit at the marshal level might continue so that they might be like them. Allowing forums to be spent talking about different strategies and tactics in different forums instead of ranting about matchmaking and drugs would bring in and keep an older audience I believe

The natural problem with DM shaft is that the ppl with the best kills will not move...moving will lead to dying...so a stalemate will ensue

So looking at the drones effects, there are three and I am really excited to see the new roles that these will create. Mechanic Drone: The ability to repair yourself and it seems ppl around you, will add a new aspect to defending...Used with skill I expect it will make some defenses stronger Assault Drone: This one I am probably going to use most, as it will keep me from having to use too many drugs. Keeping supplies active will allow skillful attackers to be more effective. Trooper Drone: This one though I think will be the best for the game. So many games are over when one team explodes into the enemy base with all supplies active and then spawn kills everyone. Now, teams can stop and drive back those assaults with their own supplies activated. I think this should be used by anyone who does not have many drugs

False. Complaining here rocks no boat. Offering suggestions to the devs as to what to do to fix imbalance...that achieves something.

Hey, do you think we can stop the mindless complaining? It feels good but literally helps noone. What if, instead of complaining, we started a new thread suggesting what the devs should do. MM or not games tend to not be balanced. MM has brought some new problems, yes...we all know that, but complaining will not fix anything. If you have a suggestion of what could be done to balance out the game, I will start a new topic in the ideas and suggestions section. Lets be grown up here and maybe things can be made even better

I'm not sure if it is possible but maybe the best thing would be to have one of the devs come on the forum, just like in movies when troops are about to mutiny and a general gives a rousing speech that sounds like he has practiced it and everyone comes together magically lol. Seriously though, if they really care about the new system, they can easily calm people by giving an honest, no BS answer to the comments and explain what they are doing. I always love when bosses/authorities are honest about what is going on...if they do not, how many ppl will rage quit in the next few days? Actually I like the idea of everyone paying, say 25 crystals to the battle fun upon entering. If they run, they not only lose those crystals, but it also rewards others for sticking around. There has to be a way of allowing ppl to leave though if the battle is hopeless from the beginning. Like if I'm the only non legend, I'm probably not going to stay to fight m4s all day, but I wont run from a battle just because were losing

Probably the most well written post yet. I would echo his words of understanding of all the work that goes on behind the scenes to make these things happen. There are actually some really good things that I like from this update. Whoever decided to change the fund distribution should get a medal. I also would say that the group system is fun...placing me and friends together. There is something else, but I've completely forgotten. The point is that there is some good from all of this, and it might be best to take the good and keep it regardless of whether the rest stays, and we can be thankful for the devs continued work on this. Oh one good thing I remembered. People are complaining so much that I have yet to hear one "Admin gold plz" :D

I always try to be patient with new things, and have tried to be positive, but there has to be limit to how many times you wait 3 minutes to be the only non legend in a game...or how many times you get stuck assaulting the point on highways map...honestly I hope people keep the flood coming as even if most are overreacting, I miss the old battle list a lot and would not even do normal battles if it were not for missions. It has taken my favorite way of battling and made it nonenjoyeable

I've had a few good games...close games. The group mechanic is good to allow friends to play together. However, we just waited 3 mins for a 6v1 game...so...yeah
