You hit the nail on the head. That's what I was trying to imply in my first sentence. As a side note: If you study the differences between Americans and British, you'll find some very interesting facts about why some things are done and why the spelling of words are different. It had its start when the Colonies won their independence from British rule. To show their independence, they came up with innovative ways of living differently, speaking differently and spelling words differently. The Spanish and French had a very strong influence in fashion and architecture. That's why Americans drink coffee and British drink tea. Of course, it's not quite that straightforward and it didn't happen in a short span of time. There's a lot of history hidden in between these lines. The path of evolution has many obstacles to overcome. With every action there's a reaction that results in consequences.

Thank you. I must have overlooked it.

As it is now, it will die. I hoping HTML5 will give it a blast of pure oxygen. Of course, if Tanki runs its course as it usually does, HTML5 will be really buggy and glitchy. Hopefully, the HTML5 team are more professional than the Tanki team. By that I mean more experienced. I know most players have already gotten a taste of the HTML5 version. I wonder if this is the Beta version or if there will be a Beta version before it is officially launched. This is the same as a new store opening. They open the store to the public before the Grand Opening to see if things are running smoothly, if anything needs to be rearranged, what items seems to be the most popular or less popular for stocking purposes. What the flow of people traffic is within the store and try to eradicate any bottlenecks. When all the bug, glitches and casualties are trashed then they have the Grand Opening. Before the Grand Opening is the store's beta version.

Please refresh your memory: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Containers I don't see skins mentioned, though.

I'm 72 years old. Retired from the military and retired from nursing. I make no claims to my mental abilities. They seem to change from day to day. :D

I'm not defending Tanki, but I am trying to be fair. Devs are not putting a whole lot of time in doing fixes and content right now. Another team is working on HTML5....which should bring a new version of Tanki. Flash is moaning in its death throes and Tanki will go with it if they don't switch over. Right now, they are doing nothing more than putting bandaids on the problems. Some things Tanki can't fix because Flash is buggy. All the Tanki Devs are doing is trying to keep Tanki afloat until they throw the switch. We'll have to wait and see what happens when the new Tanki is reborn.

I forgot to rate myself. I got 7/10. I lack 9, 7 and 2 9...I used to be strictly tee shirts and blue jeans. But because of the braces I have to wear, now, I can't wear blue jeans anymore. Now, I live in lounging pants (or pj bottoms) and very loose tee shirts. Now, I'm leaning more towards plaids and bright colors. It's a new style for me, so I didn't count it. 7...I used to be able to control my impulses very well. I still do, to an extent. But as I've gotten older with no one to answer to, but myself, I'm leaning more towards, "Why deprive myself when I don't have to." 2...I still don't like the background noises, but over the years I've learned to ignore them. I don't hear the lawn mowers any more, the barking dogs in the neighborhood or the neighbor's pool party (no, I'm not invited). It's not that I'm deaf or hard of hearing, I mentally block them out.

Yeah, and by the time you kill the enemy flag bearer and return the flag, its stolen again before you can get back to base.

I've been to a number of amusement parks...usually watching others having fun going on rides that make me cringe just watching. I don't have a fear of heights but I do have a fear of falling. At the beginning of a roller coaster ride the cars to up a steep hill. When it goes over the top straight down, that's when I go into panic mode. A friend talked me into going on a roller coaster with her. It wasn't anything special, not a mega ride, but did have a couple tall hills, a twister, a really wavy section, a flat platform with a sudden dip. For a roller coaster enthusiast, it would be very boring. My friend took a picture of me....the expression on my face wrote volumes. So, of course that leaves out anything having to do with bungees. Things that goes around in circles fast makes my stomach do extreme calisthenics. The Merry-go-Round (Carousel) is more my speed. The Ferris Wheel I can tolerate a little better. But it's not the going in circles that bothers me it's the fear of falling again. Goin up isn't too much of a problem, it's the going down with seeing the bottom that puts my heart in my throat. It takes my a few turns to get oriented to it. In an amusement park not far from my house is a very popular ride. It's a swing, only your strapped in by a harness, prone position, face down and about 4 feet off the ground. A cable pull you up backwards to the top of a 1,000 foot tower, pauses for a few seconds while the operator moves the loading platform, then lets you go and you swing down towards ground and up into the heavens, then back down again backwards in an arc. The only mechanical part of this swing is the cable that pulls up and lets you go. After that, it's centrifical force and gravity and momentum that keeps you going. The ride ends when you are slowed down enough for the operator to hook the harness and bring you to a safe stop. I get goose bumps just watching it. Actually, I prefer to watch people playing the games and listen to the Carnies bark, eating cotton candy, hot dogs with all the fixings, a couple beers and walking through the crowd watching, observing, listening. Smiling at the faces of excited children. That's my excitement.

I agree. Usually the one stealing the flag has to fight their way out of the enemy base and use supplies to be successful. I've seen the enemy flag bearer get killed, but no one from the team will try to return it. The flag sits there for "first come, first serve." This happened on Yorkshire. Our flag was sitting right in the middle (remember where the Christmas tree was? Right there.) One of my teammates was nearby and I thought he would return it, but he drove right by. I loaded a SB on my Titan and went for it. At the same time, I saw an enemy tank headed in that direction. My DD was in cooldown, but I started shooting anyway. I was already in overburn when I got to the flag....just a split hair slower than the enemy. It was so close I thought I had returned it. He loaded an RK and took off. One of his teammates got between me and the flag bearer. They capped....again. Thanks to the teammate who drove right by the flag without returning it.

Boxes that can be moved by one tank and containers that can be moved by two or more tanks. All can be blown up, some contain vials of Nitroglycerin and/or hand grenades and/or WMD's.

Granted! But because you're so HOT the chemical used to COOL you evaporated! I wish I was a real live Cookie Monster.

Scientific studies have been done to determine what qualities people have in common that would indicate if they are a genius or have the tendencies towards being a genius. These are their findings: 10...You realize how much you don't know. For instance: You may be good at writing music, terrible in math. You know the difference between 3/4 time and 4/4 time, but you don't know how to figure 3/4 of a given number and will admit to that. If someone asks you a question you don't know the answer to, you could say, "I don't know" and let it go at that (the person who falls short of having genius qualities) or you could say, "I don't know, exactly, but I have an idea of how it works" then research it. The one with the genius qualities will research the answer to gain further knowledge. 9...You wear the same clothes every day. This doesn't mean you wear dirty clothes everyday, but stay with the same colors and style. The genius has more important things to think about than fashion. 8...You can feel what others are feeling. This is called "empathy." You can feel when someone is sad, depressed, not feeling well regardless of what they say. You feel their joy, happyness, elations and can share in their well-being. One who lacks empathy is unable to feel the emotions of others and will not respond to those emotions. 7...You can perfectly control yourself. This goes more into controlling your impulses. We see this in Tanki nearly everyday. Two people want the same M2 kit and will be available as soon as they rank up. They both know that the kit will be on sale (maybe 50% off) in a few months. The impulse buyer will make the purchase as soon as they rank up or shortly thereafter. The one who is able to control their impulses will wait for the sale. 6...Your eyes are blue. Yes, research has proven that to be a fact. People with blues eyes are more attuned to the details, the pros and cons, working up a design or working out....well.....the details. Sometimes they are thought of as procrastinators. Dark eyed people are more creative. They find a way around the details, coming up with a solution quicker. But, because they haven't worked out the details, the solution may not be long lasting. (Bandaids, anyone?) 5...Your a chocolate lover. Chocolate stimulates mental activity. However, if not kept in moderation, it may stimulate growth in other parts of the body. 4...When your upset, you know what's bothering you. You come to work with a bad attitude, short tempered, every little thing upsets you even further. You want to put the blame on the driver who cut you off on the way to work, but you realize, in reality, it isn't the bad driver, but rather the argument you had with your spouse before coming to work. 3...You talk to yourself. No, your not crazy, you are a genius. By talking to yourself, especially about important issues or trying to make complicated plans, you are blocking out all the other static that is going on in your brain and focusing on what counts. You can use this tactic to figure out behavioral and emotional problems by using yourself as a sounding board. 2...You can't stand background noise. I'm not talking about the constant hammering from your neighbor having a new roof put on or the jack hammer down the street. That annoys most people. I'm talking about the background noise of people talking (someone has the TV on in the living room while you're trying to concentrate in the den). Or your neighbor is mowing his lawn (how big is that lawn anyway?) and the constant droning is disturbing your concentration. You find these noises distracting. Known geniuses have gone as far as soundproofing their workroom. 1...Your handwriting is messy. It doesn't matter if it's a casual letter or a groundbreaking idea your trying to get on paper before it disappears into oblivion. In both cases, the reason is the same. Your mind is going at a fast pace and your hand is trying to keep up. So, do you belong in the Mega Society of High IQ's? Or are you the average person picked out of the crowd of average people? How to score? I'd say, if you can put yourself in all 10 categories, then you belong in the Mega Society. If you score 5, you're the average genius. You only scored 1? Well, at least you're on the leaderboard. DISCLAIMER: Because these tests were lab studies done under controlled conditions, some Scientists believe they still don't show the true nature of a genius.

I use a different password for every website. I had to get a pocket size notepad to keep track of them all. I live alone, so there's no problem with someone finding the pad. But if I have to leave the house for an extended length of time (hospital, vacations, weekend getaways, etc) I take it with me. If I have company, I'll hide it. The only thing I have to worry about is my dog. He's the type that would say, "Pet me and I'll show you where the safe is. Rub my ears and I'll give you the combination."

Here's a situation I was in a few months ago on Brest. I stole the flag on my own. My team stayed at the base playing TDM. A Thunder/Mammoth was sitting on top of our flag. The enemy team would come enmasse, kill the Mammoth and take the flag. My teammates outside didn't try to kill the flag bearer nor help the Mammoth. The ones inside the building at the time of the attack would help the Mammoth. No effort was ever made to steal the enemy flag. I went to the enemy base and stole the flag under heavy fire. I had to use my RK while battling and there were none in the valley. I was shot on my way back to base and only had a thread of life left. I tried to cap but the Mammoth wouldn't let me. He turned his turret towards me, so I know he knew I was there. My teammates in the building just stood there and wouldn't come to my aide. The enemy came in from both sides and I was killed instantly. The Mammoth grabbed the flag, made a couple kills and capped. That was the only flag we made. The exact situation happened when I was still fairly new, but no longer a newby (before MM). I forgot what turrets were used, but a Mammoth was standing on our flag. I was using Hornet. I tried to cap, same response. But that time, I took the flag back to enemy territory and let them kill me. I was bombarded with insults from my team. I left. That would have been the only cap my team made.

Unless something has changed that I don't know about, the amount of crystals in a container increases when you rank up. Not on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. When reaching the rank of General, some players start saving containers until they become Marshal. I don't save containers. This is what I've read from other posts.

I tipped my tank slightly forward on the edge of clif to make a kill. I lost my balance and ended up with the shiny side down. The tank I was trying to kill, killed me.

Tanki was good, Tanki 2.0 was a flop, Tanki X is a flop. Wanna flip a coin for HTML5?

Long time ago, I asked a similar question. I had a lot of kills and no deaths (I was using Shaft on another account). I was sure I would be at the top of the leaderboard. But I came in towards the bottom. The person in first place had less kills than me and a lot of deaths. I was told that the person in first place contributed more to the team and wasn't camping. That's when I realized that the game mechanics doesn't recognize campers as contributing very much. Fact was, the battle in question, was CTF and I killed a lot of flag bearers. I thought I contributed a lot. My comment to that was a player has to die a lot in order to get the higher rewards. In reply, the Mod said that wasn't true. Which confused me even more. The next battle, I used Firebird/Hornet and hot dogged it through enemy base throwing Napalm on as many of the enemy tanks as I could before I died. I died a lot but got a higher score.

It makes sense to me because I did my homework.

Yeah, my parents said the same thing. I didn't want kids, never wanted them and now I'm too old to have them and that's fine with me. It's a sad, sad day when a kid says to a friend, "Nope, never done any of that. The only thing I had in common with my Dad was this stupid game called Tanki. He didn't want to go anyplace, do anything except play Tanki. Even when we went on vacations together, that's all he did. I wanted to go sightseeing...nope. There was this cool sports shop I wanted to go to....nope. A friend of mine invited me to go with him to his parents mountain cabin. I was surprised my Dad let me. That's the best time of my life, I'll never forget it. I didn't have any desire to go home to my Dad. He's an old stick in the mud." Is that the type of legacy you want to leave your kids? When he gets older and has girlfriends: "What's your Dad like?" Your kid, "I don't know, I never met him. He always had his nose stuck to the computer and phone playing some kind of game. Oh, it was called Tanki. When Tanki went defunct, he was at a complete loss as to what to do with himself. He died not long ago from a broken heart, mourning the loss of this favorite game. The depression was too deep to come out of. Sure wish I had gotten to know my Dad."

Jupiter is the fastest spinning planet in our solar system rotating on average once in just under 10 hours. That is very fast especially considering how large Jupiter is. This means that Jupiter has the shortest days of all the planets in the solar system. Venus is the slowest - it rotates once every 243 days —- by far the slowest rotation period of any of the major planets. A Venusian sidereal day thus lasts more than a Venusian year (243 versus 224.7 Earth days). However, the length of a solar day on Venus is significantly shorter than the sidereal day; to an observer on the surface of Venus the time from one sunrise to the next would be 116.75 days. Compare apples with apples and oranges with oranges.

I emailed a link to this topic to a friend of mine. With her permission, this is her take on it: It is a very interesting topic. One thought I had immediately was about sanitation. Rural kids, and kids who have gone camping (and I don’t mean in an RV) would have a better understanding of what they need to do, because they know about mucking out stalls, disposing of their own waste, and so on. They would also have more skills re: how to live without electricity (this suddenly makes me realize – groups like the Amish would have a much higher survival rate!) However, city kids (with very rare exceptions) would be clueless, and would probably devolve into doing their business whenever and wherever the need strikes. This would quickly lead to multiple diseases running rampant. Also, I believe the original topic referred to letting humanity survive. One definition of humanity refers to learning, culture, arts & sciences, etc. Most children don’t really have a clue as to what that is until well into their teens, if not later. Yes, human beings might survive if X = 12 or 14 years old, but Humanity (in the broader sense) would die fairly quickly. Another thought I just had, which I don’t remember seeing anyone else comment on, is the emotional impact on these people of suddenly losing most of the people they care about. This would be devastating for far too many of the children, and with no mental health professionals you would need older, more mature individuals to help the younger children survive the trauma.

Did you know that doesn't make sense?
