Kids don't come with an instruction manual. Any other product, the owner would be on the phone complaining to management. More sleepless nights than you ever had before. Again, complaints to the management. You're constantly "flying by the seat of your pants," except you weren't born with wings. Now who do you complain to? You can't wait until they turn 18 so they can leave the nest or you kick them out of it. That's how other animals do it. But Humans think that's unconscionable. Too many mixed emotions to keep up with. One minute you're laughing at their antics, next minute you're so angry at them you feel like "killing" them. Then the kid starts sulking/crying because you hollered at them. You feel guilty and saddened and apologize. Then you feel you could "love them to death." Grandma is happy to babysit while the parents have a few hours to themselves. After a few hours has passed, Grandma is looking at the clock wondering when the parents are going to pick them up. After another hour, Grandma is wondering if the parents are ever coming back. Having kids is an 18 year roller coaster ride.

I didn't know Apple was in the banking business.

It used to be Isida, but now it's Freeze, especially if I'm using Vulcan and Titan. The Vulcan turret is so slow, I could take the dog for a walk, eat lunch and take a nap by the time it does a complete rotation. Add Freeze, I let the dog take himself for a walk, forget about lunch and just take a nap.

I agree with you, to an extent. Because HTML5 isn't out yet it feels the jury has come to a verdict of guilty before all the evidence has been presented. That's why I'm still holding on to a thread of innocent until proven guilty (with the advent of the new Tanki). Yes, right now, Tanki is the pits. My beloved Vulcan is nearly useless without DD and Incendiary Band. I'm always in the lower half of the leaderboard because most battles all I can do is whittle down life points so the stronger weapons have an easier kill. As a team player, that's the way it's supposed to happen, but since the advent of gold stars and reduced battle time, it's "every man, woman and child for themselves." So, I get a few damage points while my teammates get kills. More kills = more stars (or so it seems). For some of the missions, what would take the stronger weapons a few hours to accomplish, takes Vulcan days and even weeks. For those types of missions I have to keep Firebird primed and ready. I have Gauss, but I haven't used it enough to become proficient with it.

There's been a few times I've forgotten which team I was on and tried to shoot my teammates. I was wondering why my shots were going right through them. The solution hit me that I must be lagging really bad....until I looked at my life bar and realized the ones I was shooting at had life bars, too. I know, sounds stupid. But when you play several battles back to back and are put on the same color team back to back, then suddenly get changed to the other color, it gets a little difficult to keep up.
-
You also have to take into consideration, players will start leaving a losing battle that is too far gone to save. MM tries to replace those empty slots. It's not very often players of a winning battle will leave. Personally, I think the MM should call it a loss, too. The gap gets so big, even the best of players can't save it.

Put as much weight into this as you wish. Time will tell. We are told that another team is working on HTML5 and a lot of the bugs and glitches are being worked on. Meanwhile, the Tanki team is trying to come up with ideas to keep the game interesting and help it survive while coming up with new ideas to integrate into the new Tanki. So the existing bugs and glitches aren't being fixed, but rather putting a bandaid on the problem. Why fix the bugs and glitches now when they will be fixed in the new version. Doing the same job twice is a waste of time management. The Jury is still out.

When I realized Tanki had become more of a stressful, frustrating grind than a fun relaxing game it used to be. I haven't been in a battle for nearly 4 weeks and haven't missed it a bit. I started playing a few months after Tanki came out of beta and was open to the public. I was one of the ones who helped Tanki break out of its shell into rebirth. Now, playtime is over, it's time to rest. The child is getting too cranky.

Yoda lives eons into the future. Perhaps the writers were trying to send a message indicating children mature faster in the future. Or the writers don't know children very well when put to their own devices. In the video, the boys elected a Leader, but the Leader couldn't lead because they refused to listen to him. He gave up trying to play the role. Another boy lived on cokes and junk food. Before entering the house, the boys went through a cooking course, but only one attempted to make a meal. He was the boy that was being picked on because he was "lazy." (That's a laugh, so were they). He tried to make a niche for himself to gain some respect. He cooked a meal for all 10 kids and they were glad for the food. After supper was over, not one carried a dish to the sink. The all went outside to play, leaving him clean up the kitchen and dining room by himself. It took him over an hour. After all that, they still picked on him, but not quite as much. It was interesting to note that in the boys group, there wasn't any racial mixture, but in the girl's group, there was a mixture. The Black girl that was very dark complected was the one being picked on and eventually left. No one said anything about race, but I wonder. The other Black girl was lighter complected (her parents were an interracial couple). She was very well accepted. (I don't know if an interracial child is considered Black or White. I guess it depends on the culture they adopt). By the way, for those who didn't watch the videos, the parents were watching their kids through a live feed. The kids were supervised by adults, but they didn't intervene except for safety concerns. There was, also, a Child Psychiatrist watching and observing. The kids were told they could leave the house at any time to go home. If they needed adult advice there was a door they could knock on to talk to the Child Psychiatrist.

 I watched the video, very interesting experiment. There's also one for the girls in the same house, same timeline. They didn't fare much better. Out of the 10, two left. They did much better cooking meals and cleaning. The house was still a mess, though, because they didn't keep it up. A list was made and everyone had an assigned duty (they had a choice) but because there wasn't a rotation of duties they got bored with them and slacked off. I was surprised that all the girls moved their beds into the small room. I wonder why they didn't gravitate to the larger room. Two girls decided to sleep outside in a tent. As with the boys, one girl was bullied, she was the first to leave. The other one left so she could get some sleep and the house was a mess. A couple girls insisted on staying up all night, playing and making noise in the bedroom so the others had difficulty sleeping. Hardly anyone slept until those two decided they had enough and went to bed. After seeing both videos, I've come to the conclusion that 10 years old is still too young to organize and learn survival skills. That won't happen until the stores were out of junk food and they were near starvation. One boy woke up in the morning and started eating candy bars because he was "starving." The house was jam packed full of food. I'm prone to believe that around 14 years old a child leaves childhood and starts entering into adulthood. Before that age, a child is still too wild. They are thinking of the here and now, not about tomorrow, not thinking a week from now. They still need supervision and direction from someone older.

Your answer has nothing to do with the topic. Read the first post. FogOfWar_XXX was running a contest. Winner was to get a Gold Box. The first entry was the challenge. This post was trying to encourage players to participate.

Do you really think that a child that young would go into a store, see all that free candy, cakes, pies that his parents tried to regulate, would actually turn his/her nose up at it and go out into the woods to gather nuts and berries? Especially when the child realizes that there aren't any adults around to stop them.

Huh!?! What are you talking about?

Since the subject of how boys and girls mature, chew on this for awhile: It has been a known fact that girls mature faster than boys. Now, there is scientific proof. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/science-news/10529134/Girls-really-do-mature-quicker-than-boys-scientists-find.html Girls brains begin to mature at age 10 and have more complex thinking than boys of the same age. Boy's brains don't begin to develop until age 15. So, boys at the age of 15 are just starting where the girls were at age 10. This topic is not about who is smarter, but rather which children, gender is not a factor, are more creative, ingenuitive, imaginative, inventive, resourceful, persistent and natural insight. Some respondents are suggesting an apocalypse has occurred. The OP didn't mention an apocalypse. The reason for the disappearance of adults is not an issue, so it shouldn't be one. Someone mentioned going back to Medieval Times. We could actually go back further than that. Each one of us carries DNA that can be traced back to the humanoid evolution. I read sometime ago, that man, if left to his/her own devices, would eventually revert back to that point in evolution by behavior, aggression. That's how they survived. It is the present form of evolution that survived because on the aggression...overpowering the weaker, less mentally developed. Would children, eventually, begin to revert back to that aggressive DNA? https://hbr.org/1998/07/how-hardwired-is-human-behavior In the animal kingdom, Humans are the beasts.

Would a 9 year old be able to kill, slaughter and cook a cow, horse, pig? I'd say probably a 10 year old may go on a hunt with his father and other tribesmen and maybe even make his first kill. But do they slaughter? The civilized poor countries may know how to gather and maybe hunt a little. 10 year old children in richer more prosperous countries may not be able to do that because they were never taught. Wait...Wait a minute!! Is there still the internet for learning? Phones and cell phones for distance communications? If so, then the children may be able to figure out a line of communications to fill in some of the gaps. Survival is theoretically possible at age 10, providing there are enough children who are well read and have an outstanding command of their language. Propagation of the species is another story. Just because a girl is having her monthly cycle, doesn't mean she is ready to bare children. Her organs and body are too immature. The risk of fetus and mother dying is a very, very high risk with chances of survival extremely low. A woman's body isn't developed enough to bare children until very late teens and even then there is still a high risk. How about health care? Surgery? Can a 10 year old understand enough to do an appendectomy (remove the appendix) for instance. If an appendix becomes inflamed, it will burst and is certain death. Will a 10 year old be able to learn how the do a Cesarean section if a young girl gets pregnant. Ok..enough along those lines. This is a very mature subject for the younger kids reading this. They will have to make up their own Government, their own laws and Leaders. At least at first, they may form Tribes and each Tribe will have their own form of government and laws. Will they fight for their turf? Absolutely. Young kids join gangs now and have to prove their "manhood" by killing innocent people (drive-by shootings). Right there, the population decreases. So, you can have gatherers, huntsmen, cooks and even those with leadership abilities and technicians. Now, the question is: How do you get them all in one spot? How do you get them all on the same page? It's a whole new society developed by children who barely have a concept of life, teaching much younger children. I'd say, 10 year old children may have a slim chance of survival. Older than that, chances of survival goes up. What's the youngest age with a better chance of survival? I'd say no younger than 12 years old. For those of you who have very young siblings or cousins...Look at them and their behavior, knowledge, level of concentration, persistence and willingness to learn many things they are not accustomed to. What would their chances of survival be if everyone above their age had died? Be honest. Don't just say, "My brother is too stupid." Is he? Really? Just because you may think he acts stupid doesn't mean he is. Well, Folks, that's my take on it. I'm glad I won't be around to see it.

Some players rather listen to music. That's ok if they are paying attention. I think some get into the groove of the music and forget about the objective. They just go with the flow...kill or be killed....die, respawn. It's all the same to them. Don't get me wrong, not all music listeners are like that.

I'm not a programmer and know not even a thimbleful about it. A couple friends who have dabbled it in told me that 1...Trying to compare HTML5 with Flash is like trying to compare the South Pole with the Equator 2...The other friend said that it's more like trying to compare English, Russian and Chinese. English is Latin based, therefore it has all Latin base languages in common. Russian and Chinese are not Latin based so neither can be compared to English. Russian is Slavic based and cannot be compared with English nor Chinese. The Chinese language has its roots in Proto-Sino-Tibetan and cannot be compared to English or Russian. As so is HTML5 and Flash. Is it true there's that much difference between the two?

Supposedly, this is what HTML5 will correct. They aren't doing much of anything to correct the code in this version since HTML5 is designed to do all that. (Or so I've read). The Devs figure it's a waste of company time to do what will be repeated in HTML5. That's why I say we have to wait and see what the new version will bring. A game I quit playing about 10 years ago, closed down the game for a full week before launching the new version, keeping the forums open. Everyone was excited and trying to guess what the new version will bring. We weren't given any hints at all. When the new version was launched, it wasn't at all what we had expected. The entire game had been reworked and it was like learning the game all over again from scratch. They had well over 1M players. After the remake the number of players went down by half and a couple month later, by about a fourth of what was left (that's when I quit). So, they launched the old version in its entirety. That brought back a lot of the old players that had quit. Last month, I logged on and played for a couple hours. I was surprised my account was still there. This account was put into the newer version, I guess because that was where it was when I last played it. The servers were nearly empty. I logged into another account that had never been in the new version. That one was in the old version. There were a lot more players in the old version. I noticed they added two more versions, which introduced hardcore playing and "if you die, you lose your entire account" type playing. -
Quote from "The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether" by Edgar Allan Poe as it appeared in the November 1845 issue of Graham's Magazine: "You are young yet, my friend," replied my host, "but the time will arrive when you will learn to judge for yourself of what is going on in the world, without trusting to the gossip of others. Believe nothing you hear, and only half that you see." One of my favorite authors and quotes.

I'm with you on those points. I want tanki to succeed, too. Right now, though, I'm tired of the lags, getting booted out, game freezing all in the matter of one battle after another. It was gotten much worse over the past few months. But it's still all about our potato computers and maxed out caches, but none of the fault lies on tanki. This is not the quality game it used to be, that's why I'm not putting any more money into this game. Tanki is trying to attract buyers, but instead they are losing them. I found another game to put my money into. Tanki has lost this battle. I'll stop in on occasion and see how the forums are going, hell, I might even play a battle or two just to kill one or two players then die and respawn 5 more times before I get another kill. There's too much grinding away to get stars and challenges, that's not fun, that's too much like work. I work hard at my job, I don't want to work hard at a game, too. The first big game changer for me was the merge. The second big game changer was the reduced battle times. They were 30 minutes, then 15 minutes, 8 minutes (for about 48 hours), down to 7 minutes. Before the merge, we could easily communicate with our teammates and use a bit of psychological warfare on the other team. I'll see what HTML5 brings when it's officially launched.
