It's better to limit the amount of skins. The developers are being wise on their part making them released slow and during events. Otherwise, skins would have virtually zero value.

Tanki needs a little conservatism
sensei_tanker replied to sensei_tanker in Tanki needs a little conservatism Archive
I get that Tanki needs to roll out updates for change because the game needs to be kept fresh all the time. But changing the basic original state of the game is not something that is needed. I'm making this post after I came back and saw that on my alt account has a bunch of M2 looking garage equipments even though it was previously a warrant officer with no m2s and theres a weird "MK" system that makes no sense to me as an older player. Let's think about this... what is there to gain from this update? It's supposed purpose was to balance the microupgrading system. There are so many ways to balance this out without uprooting the standard base or the simplicity of the game. Literally, the devs could have made it so that each microupgrade for a turret/hull/module had its own rank limit, without the needed to split 4 modifications into (is it 7?). Now, old players are confused and don't want to understand these new complicating updates that completely change the way the game they have known for 8 years has functioned. This update doesn't really make the game any more appealing towards the newer players. Ultimately, I think that Tanki needs to create new updates that introduce completely new concepts into the game, rather than completely uprooting old and traditioned game mechanics that no one could ever imagine losing. -

Valid Option for Spawn Protection in pro battles
sensei_tanker replied to Power_Mate in Ideas and Suggestions
Spawn protection was unique in the fact that it affected both MMS and PRO game modes. This may work well in MMS because each MMS map has a devoted section for a team's base that's behind the flag. However, in PRO battles, you will see that this completely changes the way numerous battles are played in a bad way. In Polygon CP, you have people spawn in randomly, and making these temporarily immortal players be dispersed randomly throughout the map and any given time is just bad for the gameplay and extremely frustrating to play against, especially since it's polygon CP - there's no spawn killing. This applies to many other maps like Arena, Ping-Pong for example. Also, some other maps with actual bases have spawns that are close to the center of the map, so players can be immortal by the time they reach the middle of the map. Furthermore, I think this is only unique to Noise CTF, but those battles are even more of a stalemate since that the bases and spawn areas are extremely small and having everyone immortal in a base makes the gameplay slow. Though I think this is great for XP/BP. I didn't like how you used to be able to begin charging up right before a ghost tank solidified when they spawn. -
Just wondering, does the ban log account for all bans both video and actually live-spectated bans or just one of them?

It shouldn't have the responsibility to download video recording software on my computer in order to catch hackers for Tanki. That said, the event's over, otherwise I would gladly do so.

I waive my Miranda Rights and my rights guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment. If I was put into jail or unwillingly forced to confess, I am bound to this jail illegally. Also, where's my Due Process? I'm suing for my freedom. Oh wait, I'm in Russia. Off to the Gulag I go then.

Modules should not even be a point of contention. Every turret has equal modules. Turrets should be balanced based on its own abilities and their own abilities only. Just because no uses Isida protection anymore doesn't mean it's OP. Likewise, just because everyone uses Thunder protection now doesn't mean it's UP.

It's much more of a problem at middle ranks than higher ranks... I went in my alt on all of the event days counted a total of 43 different hackers. Something needs to be done. It's like when the president comes to a public place for an event. There's going to be much more security than there is normally. Now, I'm not much of a tech geek when it comes to gaming and hacking but I'm assuming "hacking" falls under "usage of 3rd party software" in the ban log. I'm' a little satisfied with the numbers, but the main thing is that the moment someone starts hacking should be the moment they are kicked from the game. There's no point in banning the person after the deed has been done because that results in a poor gaming experience for clean players.

I liked it, though strike subsection 3. The best updates are the those that are the simplest and the most effective. Removing freeze and hornet advantages are simple and good solutions. But having a complex system of who gets advantages and what advantages they get if they do a specific thing is too complicated to follow and understand in a game.

The Battle Mods are Pathetic
sensei_tanker replied to sensei_tanker in The Battle Mods are Pathetic Archive
With all due respect, they don't do anything. Literally, I've never seen a battle mod ever remove a player from battle. There are more hackers than there were in 2012... you can literally go into a Happy New Year battle and be guaranteed to find at least one hacker (who is always using dictator) - no hyperbole here. Wouldn't it make sense for battle mods to preemptively spectate these battles? You may argue that they are also enjoying festivities, well then what's the point of having a battle mod system when they aren't there when they are needed the most? If they aren't moderating battles in which they are guaranteed to find a hacker, then what do they moderate at all? The battle mods are either too little in number or they simply don't do enough. -
Don't like it mainly because it forces me to play MMS battles when I just want to play Polygon CP.
-
No, it's not that hard to get Top 3 in the winning team... it just takes longer than other missions because you are required to play at least the certain number of battles, without guarantee that you can get Top 3 or be on the winning team. The rewards should be increased, but it really isn't that hard to finish the mission. Top 5 of any team only requires you to not be afk.

Their DPS were still pretty close back then as well. They take the same amount of shots to kill the same hulls. Plus, the only thing special about Thunder back then was its splash damage - I didn't like how another turret got splash damage as well. I think in the first quoted sentence pretty much answers why I think they are similar.

This might actually kill Hunter's OD. It doesn't make any scientific sense. But I like this. -
Yes. I was a little critical of the devs after they released Striker because both of them were similar. They have almost the exact same DPS, similar damage per hit, similar reload. At one point, they were the only turrets to have splash. Now, they both have projectiles. The only difference is that Striker has the salvo mode and Thunder does not.

Yeah but now they're a waste of space.

Zero damage respawning, perhaps one of tanki's better updates?
sensei_tanker replied to Michael828 in Archive
I like the initiative Alternativa took for this update. Here's my 0.02: 1. Needs visual indication. It seems a bit unfair and a bit out of place when a player can't see if their target they're shooting at has the protection. 2. Spawns need to be centralized towards the base more now. I see some people being able to make it to the middle of the map while having this protection still on. This only applies for a few maps but this is a problem. 3. What I don't see people talking about is how this update gets rid of the minefield problems. Before, people would sometimes spam mines everywhere in the enemy base until you virtually cannot spawn without getting blown up into bits and pieces. Now, you can try clearing your base without taking damage. The update was good in this sense. 4. As a primary Freeze player, I think the developers missed the Freezing aspect for defense. I can still have someone spawn in front of me and freeze them to the point they cannot move while they take no damage. 5. What I really don't like about this update is that some players who aren't necessarily spawn killing will be affected by this. For instance, if I were to steal a flag, I would be virtually helpless when I go into the enemy base because everyone there is invincible.
