Clan licenses are available for purchase!

This is pretty obvious. However, players can still complain about the price of the clan license. Sure they can do what they want. But players can have an opinion too, and $36 just to have a tag by your name is overpriced. Besides, if the cost of clan license was cheaper, more players would buy it. Another reason why players are annoyed is that it was promised that clan license would be no more than $10. It isn't.

48hrs experiment with supplies this weekend

Pretty much the exact same system is being implemented into Tanki X right now.
  3. I have Twins M2 with 35 hours on it. I won't buy the alteration, because Twins is not my favorite turret. To say that the "fix" doesn't fix anything is like saying that increasing the price on M3 micro upgrades won't decrease the number of M4s in the game. It makes it harder to get, so less players will have the alteration. Obviously, hardcore Twins users will buy it, but those same players will also likely mu their Twins to M4. Splash damage does not completely nerf Twins, but decreases the number of non-splash damage Twins. Regarding Isida: I don't remember the stats of earlier Isida off the top of my head, but I think it was around 50 dps and 7 second charge at M3 level. Damage with a full charge will be 50 * 7=350 dmg. I don't include 10% self-heal because for M3 level it is 5 HP per second, which is literally non-existent. Now, you have 70 dps and 5 seconds charge. You still do 350 dmg per full charge, but you do it faster, which makes all the difference. You will destroy enemies faster/be able to deal more damage to enemies before you get destroyed. Even if the potential damage with a full charge is lower than 350 HP, faster damage is still better. Granted, the healing is slower, but this allows you to have more charge remaining to attack enemies if you switch away from healing your teammate or they get destroyed. Is cone angle annoying? Yes. Is it a game-changer? No. EDIT: According to the wiki, cone angle is 20 degrees. I'm pretty sure it was alway like that. 2) I was going to buy it anyway before this change was announced. 3) See above. 4) Because a ) I used Isida before the vamprism was 10% and it was great fun, so I'm used it being a trait of Isida b ) Even the little bit of vampirism helps you when the enemy is not focused on you. I'm not suggesting that balance was changed, this is just a bit of nostalgia.

48hrs experiment with supplies this weekend

This is ridiculous. TX had this system only for a short while and there's a good replacement for it. The experiment in Tanki Online was done partially because a lot of players have nothing better to do than complain about supplies and call the devs greedy. So the response is: "is this what you want?" I think it proves a convenient point, that players in Tanki Online should be the last people developers should listen to, because the number of whiners greatly exceeds the number of players who actually have valuable suggestions.

48hrs experiment with supplies this weekend

On paper, the experiment looks great. Less supply usage, yay! So . . . I tried it out in a few battles. My immediate response is that this system is horrendous. Let me explain why: The point of the experiment was to increase the "skill" factor - players with supplies have an advantage and skill doesn't matter here. Well, guess what. The complete opposite happens. If someone drugs against you, you can't fight back - not because you don't have supplies, but because they're on a cooldown. It just becomes a matter of luck (whoever happens to have supplies activated at the moment wins) and waiting for your supply cooldown to expire. The whole "supply management" part simply doesn't work. I don't put any thought into managing my supplies with this system, it's just waiting. In the original system I had to think about whether I wanted double damage or double armor depending on the situation. I played in Noise CTF blue team, and the game was ridiculous. All the enemy had to do is wait for their supplies to cooldown, attack once, wait a little, then attack again. This could've only taken two tanks. As defense, I could drug against the first attack but not the second, and the game pretty much went downhill that way. We couldn't make our way up because they were all camping up there, waiting for the supply cooldown after which they could easily cap a flag. The fact that we could barely use our supplies didn't help. In Tanki X the removal of supplies works great because they have a replacement. Modules take the place of supplies and add a new twist. They're more of special abilities that you can choose to better fit your playstyle rather than easily replacable consumables.
  6. . . . Aaaand here comes the hate. Let's dissect some of the changes. Hammer: For players complaining about the ricochet, this is something that happens in real life. Bullets do ricochet. Secondly, the damage of each pellet has been increased. Before, if you missed an enemy even by a little, you'd deal damage, but very little. Now if you miss, you'll deal more damage. This is a good change for Hammer players. Shaft: Slower aim time, slower turret rotation, more damage. A lot like the old Shaft. Isida: Probably the most controversial of changes. Increased damage actually gives me a reason to buy one of my favorite turrets! Smart charge is also great, given Isida's inability to damage multiple targets. I don't see why players don't like this change. I'm somewhat sad to see vampirism go, though, but for the sake of game balance, I think it's better than nothing. The splash damage on Twins was by no means unnecessary. It keeps Twins players from charging into tanks and being OP at close range despite Twins being a mid range gun. Furthermore, mults can no longer use Twins for multing because they'll eventually self-destruct.

    Artillery Turret

Haha, I often complain about players misleading others but here is an incorrect notion based on something I wrote. The reload will not be 10 seconds but will be about the same as Railgun depending on the power of the shot.
  8. There are a lot of people complaining about splash damage on Twins and it would be somewhat pointless to reply to everyone. So I'll condense it into one post. I played with Twins M2 a bit over the past few days, and while it may be bad for Twins users, it's much better for the game as a whole. Instead of mindlessly charging with my tank I had to keep back and try to destroy my enemies at range. It made me think before getting myself into a situation where my tank would be trapped/have poor maneuverability and self-destruct. The update makes game play with Twins more interesting from a strategic standpoint. Yes, it's a nerf, and obviously Twins users don't like it. But consider the benefits: 1. You can still buy the alteration if you want the old, more powerful Twins back. 2. The update makes it MUCH harder for mults to troll people with Twins. They'll just self destruct and rage quit eventually. 3. Now, playing against Twins is more manageable. It encourages Twins users to use it as the mid-range turret it's supposed to be. No more noobs who don't turn their turrets and just charge you. Concerning Vulcan, I don't understand the nerf at all. Vulcan went from an OP turret at M3, M4, and M0 to a way under powered turret at all modifications, and so did Ricochet. Just because a turret is feared does not mean it should become easy prey.

    Artillery Turret

Seems to reload about as slow as Shaft. EDIT: I've looked at it again and the reload is about the same as Railgun. So . . . I'm wrong, but this is slightly disappointing for a heavy-hitting shoot over walls turret. But what do I know. 3 shots for medium hulls . . . too weak. Railgun does more damage.

    Artillery Turret

For what modification? For M3 that would be quite weak, 3 shots to kill Viking.

Episode 124 of the V-LOG is here

Do you even know what artillery is? Do you think it's easy to hit a target which you can't see on the other side of the map by only adjusting angle and power of the projectile? Is that "noobish?"
  12. This isn't true. If you didn't notice, Isida after re-balance was insanely weak. Things were changed. However, since hull armor was decreased as well, the change wasn't as big as players thought it would be after the initial stats were posted. Also, political systems have nothing to do with a game. Because Twins needed to be balanced. It was too OP at short range. If you want Twins to be better at short range, you'll have to pay some crystals, because that makes it more powerful. Again, balance. Viking was pretty good in everything before rebalance - decent speed, decent health, decent pushing power. To balance it out, Viking was given a speed boost but a decrease in pushing power, while the opposite was done to Hunter. Besides, hating on Tanki because you missed a gold is ridiculous. I don't get why alterations bother you. You don't have to buy them if you don't like them. A word about the updates: I started playing this game in 2015, and from the end of 2015 to the end of 2016, a lot of updates were introduced, but balance-wise, the game remained pretty much the same. The re-balance in October 2016 was huge. Such a change in game balance wasn't seen since 2013. Devs announced that they will be making changes, but smaller and more frequent. The re-balance was a way to produce a clean canvas, upon which the new turrets and alterations were to be introduced. So what we're seeing right now is a big turning point in Tanki, when things are constantly being adjusted. Eventually, once Artillery and alterations are finished, and the devs are more or less happy with balance, these changes won't be as frequent and the game will change less. So for the next few months, players will just have to stick through it and not make rash decisions.

    Artillery Turret

I disagree. I'd imagine Artillery would have at least the damage of Shaft, and similar reload time.

Episode 124 of the V-LOG is here

So many players are complaining about Artillery being a "noob" turret because you can't rotate it . . . do they even know what artillery is??

    Artillery Turret

I think I saw something about the reload being about 10 seconds. Not sure how accurate this is.
  16. It makes it harder to get. You have to pay crystals to get it. Consequentially less players will have it.
  17. This is kind of my point. Those who use it regularly will get the Alteration, but they will have to pay for it. Likewise Generalissimos+ will grind crystals to get M4 Twins if they use it regularly.
  18. Mainly because devs wanted a complete overhaul of the game before the introduction of the new turrets. Having a "blank canvas" makes it easier to make changes. I didn't like the re-balance, but after some time, we are getting interesting updates.
  19. You forgot about the Corrosive alteration for Freeze.
  20. Sure you can get it. You can get M4 too, I think we can all agree that buyers with M4s unbalance the game. But you still have to pay a huge amount of crystals for M4: it doesn't come for free. Likewise, alterations are expensive and you have to save up for them in the same way you'd save up for a new piece of equipment. Thus players who "casually" play on Twins, those who like it but like other turrets more won't be buying an alteration for it. The same goes for players who are saving for the next modification of Twins. Only players who dedicated to the turret, perhaps have it M3, will buy the alteration that makes it more powerful, in the same way players who are really like Twins and use it a lot are likely to mu it to M4.
  21. Seriously? Again with the whole "forcing players to spend crystals" thing. The changes to Twins were meant to improve game balance, to keep Twins from being overly competitive at short range. Effectively it's a creative nerf. If players want to keep their turret more powerful at short range, which in my opinion unbalances the game, they can pay crystals, which makes sense. All other alterations have done the same thing. Firebird had burn reduced, but the alteration gives it more burn. Railgun had damage reduced but reload speed increased, and the alteration does the opposite. You could argue that these alterations also force players to spend crystals to get their old turrets back.
  22. I think this update in part actually makes Twins more balanced, contrary to what it may seem. As the game is right now, a Twins Mammoth is extremely powerful. In matches like Poly CP they just push against tanks and fire forever, wrecking havoc. After this update, you'll have to stick to mid-ranges with Twins rather than coming up close to duke it out with Firebirds and other short range turrets. So these changes will force Twins to be a mid-range turret, like it's supposed to be. And no, Twins won't be OP with splash damage because the radius is only 1-4 meters, which is about the length of a Wasp. To damage more than one enemy at once they will have to be right next to each other. That said, I don't like more turrets getting splash damage. It makes Thunder less unique.
  23. ThirdOnion

    Artillery Turret

Sure. But that's what the devs wanted, to prevent it from being an OP camping weapon.

Clan licenses are available for purchase!

First of all, no one is forcing you to start or even join a clan. The average player is completely fine in normal battles. Secondly, you can still join a clan for free. Only if you want to create one you will need to pay. Most of the "greed" accusations from players are either based on a misconception or are simply whining the moment a game developer mentions money. Precisely. Having teens and younger create clans is not the best idea.

Clan licenses are available for purchase!

In my opinion $36 is a reasonable price. Why? It keeps people serious about making clans. Some people want to create clans "just for the fun of it" or worse reasons. Such people are going to think twice about shelling out $36. What we'll have left are teams who are serious about the game, and consequentially less mults.
