Well, it depends how you approach that. But that tells me a lot that these groups of devs/product owners are not innovative enough to make their own ideas to keep their market share or keep up with the market. Instead, they blame the environment for causing the business to gradually go downhill. Now, in addition to their "aggressive" earning model, they decided to copy others' ideas, because that causes way less work of course, but the question is, how many times did they go for a similar approach without proper thinking and that didn't end well? Some examples from the past: When mobile games get popular, they try to make one with a new IP, and well, it dies pretty quickly When they saw the success of Overwatch 1, they tried to copy its idea and make Tanki X super competitive. Well, guess what? It drives the players away from an already small enough player base I never claimed the 1st part of the statement, although I do believe that if they are not gonna change their current direction. In fact, the idea of insisting on keeping this game a browser game feels stupid enough to me. Who TF play browser games, since like half a decade ago... And this alone impacts many other factors and decision-making, e.g. the visuals of this game (it is utterly bad by today's standard) That's just one of many questionable decisions made by these folks.

How many times for this topic to be put on the table and then get ignored afterward? I can't even count. It is such an obvious design flaw that no one bothers to fix it. To me, that's just a glorified way to say we don't care nor gonna fix that.
-
Basically... the devs are being the copycat, again. You heard about the Overwatch classic? Well, here comes the so call Tanki classic, period.
-
You know... There are people who will pour thousands into this game just for a skin. Or some will play it nonstop just for a piece of equipment that no one even knows what it does. All I can say is humans are a truly diverse species.

"Free" You have a serious problem if that's considered free by your logic

Oh yeah!!! This update definitely "encourages players into a more active playstyle rather than camping". Like what could possibly go wrong when the highest-scoring player in a game mode that is supposed to be about capping points are the campers themselves? For the record, this game is full of bots and CTA, i.e. the 1st place on the opposing team, is dedicated to healing people/bots.

I think it's just that less people are playing, so there is less load on their infra. Or else they would have announced it like they have solved world hunger. I still remember my ping went to like 600ms on the 1st weekend of the release of a major event quite a while ago.

Though it has the best OD for no-drugs games. Otherwise, yes, it has the worst OD (and has a huge hitbox with barely any benefits in return) in basically every other scenario.
-
I mean... we have been here long enough here to know what's going to happen next... It is not like this is the first time they intentionally shifted the meta to promote their latest/to-be-released toy.
-
Also, none of this will change when most of the MM map designs are still heavily leaning towards camping, with stuff like multiple open areas and a point in the middle of nowhere. You know things go seriously wrong when the highest score player in a CP game is not the person who caps the most points, but the guy who has a rail gun and never even leaves spawn once the entire game.

Got the exact same loot. Thanks, and no thanks.

Oh please... I bet the next thing they do is release a super duper exclusive OP aug, which works extremely well in a shorter range, for a supposed to be longer-range turret.
-
I'm confident that this will stay for a few more months to a year, just like every OP piece of junk that comes before it.
-
I ignore 90% of those numbers. They sound complicated at first, but they are just tools for the Devs to release overpowered augments, and then nerfing those that are outdated. We all know that stuff that first release in a event will be OPAF, and then get gradually nerf for the sake of "balancing" sonner or later. All those just by tweaking a few parameters. Good business. Also, I won;t give too much credit to this forum, it is still the single dumbest gaming forum I have ever seen. Here you could see people trying to suggest a piece of equipment feels balanced to them by literally equipping 50% damage reduction against that piece of equipment. And not just once but multiple people across these years, including a mod. Although I agree those in games are even worse.
-
This is just way not enough nerf...
-
Oh then great... This discussion about Striker Vacuum doesn't concern you then, since according to your logic, it is currently so bad that you think stock Striker is better than it!! I bet you are not planning to use it any time soon, right? No? Oh!!!! Please... give me a break.
-
That sounds a lot like "I have this augment, and it feels GOOOOOD. And I desperately don't want it get nerfed"
-
If you need 50% damage reduction, and/or further another 50% damage reduction, and/or an extra 500HP to "counter" an augment, then it is precisely justified that it is just too OP. Please... I thought this was common sense...

The weight class is to let you know how impactful the extra 1k HP is. YES, that is A LOT. While it is true that Repair Kit can, in theory, heal 4k HP, you didn't mention two important behaviors of it, no matter whether that's intentional or not. The first 1k health restore is instant. The rest of the 3k are healing over time. Now the effectiveness of the two is very different Healing over time stops as soon as receiving damage So, taking your Freeze example, for instance, the repair kit will only restore 1k HP in that scenario. A lifeguard, in this case, basically gives the user an additional repair kit. And even "better", it is applied automatically and refreshes on every spawn. There are reasons why "survive a lethal force" mechanics will always be left with 1 HP in every single game. It's just that Alternativa thinks they are smart or whatever and decided to copy 90% of a mature concept, and then ruin it with the rest of the 10% changes and announce it like "Hey guys, we made a new mode/mechanics/equipment". But given this Alternativa, we all know that stuff like this will never get nerfed directly, unless they are planning to introduce new OP stuff to replace them. Hence my Jammer idea.
-
And in case @AzaborBR never notices the meaning of 1000 extra HP that Lifeguard gives, it effectively raises 1 hull weight class in terms of HP. With Lifeguard, light hulls effectively have the HP of a medium hull (that's a 50% health increase BTW), medium hull to heavy hull, etc. All that without sacrificing mobility and hitbox size.
-
The thing is that Blaster and Lifeguard are essentially the superior options in a lot of cases. It works consistently, and there is literally no counter measure to them. There are reasons why everyone is using them. Instead of nerfing it directly, we could instead make Jammer status disables its effect. This would introduce a counter to them and let's be honest, Jammer is the most useless status effect currently in the game and this would at least make it (slightly) more effective. As for the ASL changes, I don't like playing that mode, but it doesn't takr a genius to realize how stupid that change is.

Congrats to the people who participated in this event. Now you will get Loot boxes that give you nothing 90% of the time A few PNGs of solid colors A skin, that is 80% similar to the default one, and is indistinguishable while you are playing. And a very slim chance of getting premium currencies that people have no idea whether the "luck draw" is rigged or not. Good for you... Hope you are smarter next time, although I'm pretty sure those people will not listen anyway.

I'm not sure which change trigger this, but since this update, I see a noticeable increase of campers in the game. Dudes (I REALLY want to use a more accurate word, but to consider the number of snowflakes in this forum, this is the closest I can get) like these seem to be way more common in MM after the patch. It was already bad enough, but it somehow get even worse. Right after I wrote this and join the next game, immediately faced another one. This is a CP mode damn it. The result of the game is long decided once the trash making system decided to put me with these folks. And of course, this is "perfectly normal game play" according to the Alternativa's logic, just like teaming in DM and throwing.
-
I'm not sure how people play hover hulls, but to me, I seldom reach max speed with these hulls now since it is rare for me to go in one direction for long, especially if I'm in certain game modes like CP, where I actually need to STAND STILL for a while. In fact, Titan has more mobility than a Paladin because of that
-
Those stats are fancy, but the short version of it is they significantly nerfed the acceleration of hover hulls. And clearly as always, they have no clue what the heck they are doing, or they would have figured out hover hulls' acceleration is unbearably slow after the change.
