Maybe you can actually play Vulcan in its current state before making a comment. At least for me, I can't play this version of Vulcan without using RAT. Vulcan is absolute trash after the reduced turret rotation speed. Like just play it once, and try to achieve the result you are trying to suggest, take a screenshot, then we can talk. I can get 1k score with 50+ kills with Vulcan, that's doable. But not in every game, and certainly not without RAT (after patch).

Doubts about "Master of the Striker Turret" Achievement...
Cleric replied to thekamikasemonkeys in Game Discussion
No one knows what it does. And the Devs say nothing about it. -
Let me break Vulcan changes down. Are the devs high? It doesn't make sense at all. Vulcan Turret rotation slowdown when firing decreased from 40-30% to 20-10% Great, now no one can aim ****. You are essentially just forcing people to use RAT. Not even a Pulsar augment can save it if you can't hit people. Barrel startup decreased from 1 to 0.75 sec Is that even a problem to begin with? Barrel slowdown decreased from 1 to 0.75 sec Same, is that even a problem to begin with? Projectile speed increased from 200-250 m/sec to 200-300 m/sec It's a buff. But it's so minor, that basically can be ignored. Overheat resistance decreased from 9-12 sec to 8-9 sec Since people are either using Heat Immunity or less commonly Incendiary Band, what's the point? Overheat temperature limit decreased from 0.5-1 to 0.15 Guess Incendiary Band users will love that, yet again, thanks for you dudes nerfing it so much, it's practically useless now. Only people who can't afford Heat Immunity will consider it. Self-heating rate decreased from 0.3-0.5 temp/sec to 0.15 temp/sec Same as above Critical damage chance decreased from 4% to 2% I thought you guys love making status effect augments. Augment «Shooting speed regulator» – Barrel startup time decrease changed from 85% to 80%; Barrel slowdown time decrease changed from 85% to 80%. Are you sure someone actually uses this crap? Why bother?
-
a.k.a. situational. In fact, very, very situational, given (1) it is supposed to be in legendary tier and (2) there are way more augments that perform better than rubberized bullets in that best case scenario. This is supported by the fact that we see almost no one using it at all.
-
Not going to argue with grammar. At least Isida gets a fairly OP Vampire augment, although that's another "reintroduced new feature". What does Vulcan get instead? An absolute trash rubberized bullet. Good lord. And now they nerf an already underperforming turret? Like what on earth are they thinking? Unless they increase the turret rotation speed, or any status effect augment will be useless on Vulcan. You can't apply those status effects when you can't hit anything!!! Not to mention Vulan's already bad crit chance is halved again. Like what the hell?
-
They should have rephrased it. The slowdown increased, not decreased. Or they can say the turret speed when firing decreases from 40-30% to 20-10%. Guess overall, it's a net nerf for Vulcan then. I have no idea what these Russians are thinking as always. Nothing that comes from their brain seems logical. Vulcan is practically unusable now without RAT. In which the turret already got the least love, just look at the augment selection Vulcan got compared to the rest. I guess I was not wrong when I joke about the Devs being Vulcan racist.
-
It feels like you did the exact opposite. Vulcan's rotation slow down is much more noticeable now
-
Too soon to say that. Remember you folks celebrate when the Devs said drones will no longer use batteries only to find out they significantly increase the drug consumption to "simplify the game" a few days after?
-
I'm pretty sure that they will find a way to sell it if it's OP enough. Or make it easier to obtain by spending cash.
-
I don't have to be a genius to figure out what the Devs mean when they say "simply the game" again. Good luck with upgrading your stuff folks.
-
No. That's for sure. I spent 300 energy and all I get is a bit further than 4th checkpoint (Paladin skin and augment one).
-
They don't look at me. They are looking at the VIPs, i.e. those willing to spend 3k Euro for a single cosmetic item. That's more than 10 of me.
-
If we are just talking about the strength of drugs and nothing else: Hyperion: Same as Brutus Defender: Buffed armor Booster: Buffed damage Crisis: Buff damage, armor, and speed. Even more than Defender and Booster, but only one can be active at a time, although you can switch them extremely fast (increasing drug consumption).
-
Defender. However, if you managed to survive long enough with Defender, it is possible that all the drugs expired and are still in cool down. So you are left with no drugs to use and are super vulnerable for that period. This "vulnerability period" simply doesn't exist for Hyperion, due to the way the drone works. TL;DR If you can constantly survive longer than drug durations --> Hyperion. Otherwise --> Defender Not entirely sure what you mean. Drug consumption x3 simply means 3 booted damage drugs of YOURS will be used the moment you activate boosted damage. There is no differentiation between "free" or "yours". The are the same. Crisis will be the best. It offers the highest amount of damage bonus, and you don't have to care about defense when no one can hit you. Yes, I'm referring to those Magnum + AP aug + Crisis + Mammoth/Ares sons of guns, who never leave spawn ever once of the entire duration of the game.
-
No that's not me. Because I'm not even using it after taking the screenshots. Nothing can replace Heat Immunity when using Vulcan. And you are correct, unless a player is very lucky, checkpoint 3 is what an average player can reach without buying energies, assuming he did all the missions. There are just way too many "push you back 5 steps" things along the road. And it's getting even more ridiculous as you progress.
-
I know what I'm doing. I'm indeed referring to magnum. The reason being when maps are made, they are intentionally designed so that it is extremely hard to raid the enemy's spawn in order to prevent spawn kill, which by itself, makes a lot of sense. And then, they added two turrets, an artillery that can literally cover the entire map while staying in spawn and behind cover the entire game, and Scorpion, which we are not gonna cover here. You see, 90% of those pathetic campers are using Magnum with AP augment, not Scorpion. And they can earn decent scores and of course sky-high K/D without even leaving that corner he is hiding the entire game. And there is nothing much the enemy team can do about it. Isn't Magnum deserve the title of the ultimate camping machine?

First of all, I'm not sure whether drug consumption is the biggest factor here. After all, what the drones do is very different from each other Hyperion - basically eliminates drugs downtime (i.e. drugs are on cool-down) Defender - buff boosted armor + eliminate boosted armor downtime (that's boosted damage and speed boost will still have the normal cool-down period) But if that's actually a concern, then Hyperion actually consumes more drugs than Booster and Defender. Consider for each round, you will use x1 boosted damage, armor, speed, repair kit, and mine respectively. Hyperion Everything x3 consumed, i.e. 15 drugs in total, or (50 * 4 + 150) * 3 = 1050 crystals per round Defender Armor x5, everything else x1 consumed, i.e. 9 drugs in total, or 50 * 5 + 50 * 3 + 150 = 550 crystals per round

To be honest, I'm not even sure what can be shown in the video. It's just a passive that (supposedly) makes your ULT charges 50% faster than normal.
-
The ultimate camping machine that doesn't make sense to be in the game like this in the first place.
-
Yeah, bought it with cash, just because it may improve my build later on (I'm not gonna replace Heat Immunity with it simply because I'm using Vulcan. Jjust have a feeling that the Devs will eventually allow players to equip multiple augs) and the investment is not that significant. Plus, I want to buy Tank coins just in case a random Vulcan augment pops up anyway. That's it from me. I'm done. That's all I want from this event. And I don't have to be a genius to figure out the rest of the checkpoints require too much investment than they are worth.
-
@Alklines You should have mentioned this. The Devs want people to pay for the augment, but they can't even make sure the right PNG and SVG are used in-game. And in case anyone is asking, it takes me 200 energies to move from step 38 to 52. Good luck folks. I'm not even sure whether you will make it without buying...
-
For all the drones you mentioned, nothing has changed in terms of their effects, just that they now consume more drugs instead of batteries.
-
5 chances of getting pushed back 5 steps along the road... Guess how long would it takes for me to reach this checkpoint?
-
The tradeoff is pretty obvious. And it doesn't worth it at all.
