I assume that's just your speculation?

It is not about how many Youtubers out there. It is about how many of them are willing to join this event. And the answer is pretty obvious.

There are many ways for a game studio to make money, even in the P2W world. If the Devs just simply add new stuff that is actually creative, I don't think many people would have complained. The problem is A lot of the monetization mechanisms are simply low-effort copied and pasted, while they are charged a fortune for them The Devs intentionally shift the meta all the time in order to encourage/force players to keep spending cash on their low-effort "new features". And they call it "balance changes". I don't mind the game being P2W, this is how this business model works. But the way it is executed here is just despicable and cheeky.

Ah and one more thing, @TheCongoSpider, the reason of why Vulcan user is "often getting prosecuted" is actually pretty simple: Vulcan is relatively easy to use because of the high firing rate, especially on mobile which they "simplified" some part of the game. That's why it has several drawbacks when it is initially designed. But as the the Devs are trying to monetize harder and harder, the drawbacks are getting compensated/mitigated by other equipments. This is actually a good thing in a single player game or non-P2W MMOs, in which in case you don't know about it, it's call synergy. This doesn't happen to Vulcan alone. But the different being other turrets typically have those items being super premium (hence way more OP, but way less common at the same time), e.g. crisis + hyperspeed for Railgun to fix the pain point of it unable to one hit kill, while Vulcan's can be obtained much easier (a simple Heat Immunity can make the experience vastly different). Another reason being the "the crying baby gets the milk" effect. If you actually take a look at the forum, among all the active forum users, only one person is actually actively against Vulcan (everyone has his preference, and I do respect that), and he doesn't mind ot express that frequently. And to be fair, he is specifically referring to those who are using this particular combination of Vulcan + HI + hovering hull + mobile player, in which there are many factors contribute to it but Vulcan being benefit the most from various factors compared to other turrets. So really, the way of not to "leave out the parts being prosecuted" properly is doing something like making HI doesn't work on Vulcan overheat and make the effect a separate, most likely Exotic augment instead. Is this what the vast majority love to see? Properly not.

First of all, it seems that you are taking a video game way too seriously. I'm no body to judge how an individual show spend his/she time, but if person is proud of himself/herself to be very knowledgeable to the game like "I have X years of experience in this game and I have deep understanding to how every game mechanic work". I'm actually worry. As for your wall of text, it feels that you are saying "similar things has been done previously many many times, this is how it is. Deal with it", while I'm suggesting "just because the history repeats itself doesn't mean it is right. And the nerf of Vulcan turret rotation speed is simply over done" I know the Devs are trying to monetize by manipulate the meta around all the time and calling it "balance changes". And nothing can stop them from doing so. They just won't listen. That's why I'm not giving constructive feedback here. That's a rant. I'm not expecting it to change. I can't talk to a brick wall and expect it to respond or react. And you are taking it way too seriously trying to convince me something that quite frankly I don't really care.

Thanks, I guess. In fact, what we are discussing here matches the Devs' direction to "simplify the game", isn't it? After all, they just removed a bunch of stuff from the game, although they did re-introduce them as a new feature shortly after.
-
I have nothing to say to that except

Given this is the game discussion section, not the Idea and Suggestion section, I don't see why these rules should apply (regardless of whether they make sense, to begin with). Besides, I believe every single one of us who commented, including the OP, knows none of these will happen anyway. So, let us do what this section is designed for, GAME DISCUSSION. I will continue the trash can topic, even though I like their maneuverability. The problem with them is they have objectively better maneuverability, which if we ignore the OD, I can't even see why someone will use tracked hull. And most importantly, it is not a freaking TANK!!! Why would a UFO show up in a tank game?

Yeah, the lack of status augments for Vulcan is another disadvantage of it. I would imagine it is related to the high firing rate causing the status effect to be applied too easily, which is why they keep nerfing the crit rate (and increasing the crit damage in exchange, aka "rework" in @TheCongoSpider's terminology) of Vulcan. But the nerf of turret rotation speed is another story, I can't really think of any possible explanation to justify this change except for the classic "create a problem; sell the solution" formula. Actually, I think the Devs screwed this up. One of the exotic items in the loot box right now is the Jammer Band, the only status effect augment available to Vulcan, and it is made available not long after Vulcan got this nerf, but because of the horrendous turret rotation speed, this exotic augment is actually worse than Reinforced Aiming Transmission, a F2P friendly augment. After all, you can't apply status effects when you can't hit people.

Thanks for the correction on the previous stats of Vulcan. It seems that you are trying to suggest "because other turrets had gone through some sort of major changes, therefore this particular change of Vulcan kind of make sense and expected". I disagree with that. That's a logical error IMO. Just because it exists doesn't mean it has to make sense. Just because some major changes have been conducted doesn't mean every subsequence major change will automatically make sense, nor has to happen. I still remember the day when projectile speed is introduced to Vulcan, which obviously affects the practical DPS of this weapon. But in exchange, Vulcan's damage is greatly increased to compensate for that, so that hitting a moving target in medium range will roughly result in similar damage. This is what a "major rework" should be, and I still remember the Devs said they now have a lot of parameters for them to manipulate to create interesting augments, which we all know never happened at the end of the day, as they were too busy copying and pasting status augments. What we are having now for this particular change is a straight nerf, not so-called "major rework" you are suggesting, at least for now. I do agree. It is a common tactic used by this particular group of Devs, and I hate it, although they have all the right and freedom to do so. However, it is just speculation after all. And it doesn't make sense to take this into consideration right now since it is still not a thing at this moment. But on the other hand, this is the part I don't really understand How is that even related? This game's mechanics is easy enough for a 7 yr old to pick up in a week or two, a month at most. This is how it is designed, to begin with. If someone requires "playing Tanki 100% consistently throughout the past few years" to understand this game, man, I'm seriously worried about him/her. And how is that related? Like how you were asking for a video of the driver augment to get a grasp of how it works, you don't need to actually get your hands on something to have a basic understanding of it.

After a few months... Vulcan turret rotation speed while firing is now slowed down by 90%, instead of the previous 50%. I would argue it is unplayable without RAT now. Mega RIP to Vulcan.
-
I seems to experience quite a few occasion of random self destruct follow by the infamous no damage bug recently.
-
As expected, Vulcan without RAT is practically unusable right now. So thanks Dev for making a Jammer augment that is practically worse than a F2P augment. I guess the Devs forgot people don't always have speed boost active to compensate, especially when using Crisis, the exact drone that they want to promote
-
They didn't say the 2nd part of it. "we know you guys hate status effect augments" "but we are gonna do it anyway. what are you gonna do about it huh?"
-
If you can withstand the 10% turret rotation speed while firing that is, which is introduced last patch. Also, even though the number sounds good on paper, its firing rate is reduced by 50% when using the augment. So a damage increase of 50% means the DPS is in theory the same as as stock Vulcan. And do remember that human, aka, us will miss their shots. So the practical DPS will be lower than stock Vulcan. So it is a slight buff for the augment as previously it has -10% reduced firing rate with no other changes. But it still doesn't solve the main problem of Vulcan's turret rotation speed is just so slow right now
-
Who cares Like what's the point of this? What do you expect from us? Like you want to promote them so they in return promote you? Are you sure that will actually work?
-
If it was before the last patch, I would be really happy to see Vulcan Jammer being added to loot boxes given it is the only OP augment (not that OP though) available to Vulcan. Yet, they decided to nerf the turret rotation speed, that now it is so bad, you can hardly aim anything even slightly closer to you. So now I don't know now. There better be a patch for this.
-
That's what it is worth if you buy crystals with tank coins, which (1) not many people are actually doing that and (2) any sensible person will know that's a horrible conversion rate. It doesn't make sense to use that as a measurement of what crystal worth to begin with
-
Well this sounds like what they are going for. Removing a feature to "simplify the game" and then reintroduce it as a "new feature" with a premium price tag on it. Isida vampire effect --> OP augment Drone --> hull augment And you bet some people actually buy this idea and spend big money on it, judging on how active the so call "Challenge Accepted" thing it. Do note that this still happens even if XT drones are also acting as a nerf. What if they are not?
-
They have been talking about it since half a decade ago...
-
No new patch notes on Vulcan to fix that screwed-up turret rotation speed?
-
Seems that the Tanki Dev's find a new magic word "In the name of simplifying the game"

What do you suggest I do instead? Spend a few thousand on OP augments? Or deliberately choosing a bad combo? Vulcan + Heat Immunity is quite frankly the last thing you should worry about with all those OP augments in the game. To be fair, the healing emitter you are using is in the legendary category which by the game design, is more valuable than a regular Vulcan combo combined. Plus, you do earn a decent amount of points from healing. I was just asking. Not meant to argue with what I said. And good job for actually finding one. Also, what you said doesn't make sense. If you "had no reason to play more" and "didn't know". You won't know that "he did basically nothing". Also, the guy in the screenshot is using Adrenaline + Stun Immunity, not Heat Resistance. A combo that has zero synergies. I would assume you were thinking about another guy, maybe the 1k score guy that you mentioned. And BTW, he is using a Titan. Have you forgotten how valuable its dome is in Siege? At the end of the day, you just hate Vulcan, period. Properly because of its high DPS and ease to use. But just because you hate a turret doesn't automatically make every buff to it nonsense and every nerf to it makes sense. Judging from what you have posted, I feel that you are so angry that you are no longer reading properly and processing logically.
-
If you are getting 2 people having > 1k score on the opposing team, then the only thing I can think of is it is a one-sided battle like a 0 - 7 or something. As for your screenshot, how does the Vulcan guy perform at the end? The augment choice looks not optimal to me
-
That alone makes your comment on Vulcan's current state automatically worthless. You can't comment on something that you don't know about. What you said about some of the Vulcan players might be true, especially to mobile players, but is that mean what you have experienced applies to all Vulcan players? Certainly not. I would imagine you would try to prove your point by having a screenshot like this. But don't forget that That's a one-sided game. My team is literally spawn-killing. I'm not the only one with a high score and K/D. In fact, there is one with 7.67 K/D If I have been playing one single turret for hundreds of hours and still don't good with it. Man I must be really suck at video games. I challenge you, from today onwards until the next patch drops, to go and find one single Vulcan player who is not using RAT. I'm not even considering the player's performance here. I would assume you will be struggling to do that, good luck.
