  1. I said you can apply in a year time, never said you'll be accepted.
  2. As you all know, karma is not the only thing we are checking in an application. But yeah, it should be clean for at least a year or two before you apply for a chat mod - if that part is ok, we can concentrate on other parts of your application - like languages known, time zone in which you play, age, availability, if you're tech savy etc. Other admins might have different requirements thought, so please check them before applying for that certain staff position.

    Meet the administration!

Your list is not accurate - some of these people aren't admins at all, others aren't in TO for some time. Accurate list you'll get by visiting these pages: EN, RU, DE, BR Also, an account "admin" isn't used by anyone, it's blocked for 2 years now.

Food is awesome, food is great! :) A dessert I made for the holidays - tiramisu!
  9. Yes, yes and yes :) Please try to be positive and give us a chance. Every change and every invention needs some time to start working. And as I said, our goal is not to "reform" and/or "change" players, this is not a correctional facility but an online game. And if we manage to make majority of players enjoy it, it's enough for us. As for the rest - the simple solution is to use Ignore function; that's why it was implemented in the first place.
  10. I already linked your topic. Please do not advertise it unnecessarily.

Tanki Picture of the Day - Have any?

:fire_r: Happy New 2015 to all tankers, best wishes to all of you from chat moderators!! :) :fire_l: Special thanks to @jiangreo for making these awesome pics! (bow)
  12. I disagree. We do have constant rule-breakers as well. We simply try to do our best - this is a game, after all, and we cannot expect to change players the way parents or society can. We also do not want to make anyone be in fear, but to enjoy this game. So we are moving toward a resolution that can be fruitful to everyone. But for now, as I said, you always have an option to block offensive players. ... And then we're again in the same loop - dealing with reports... No one said you guys should be doing our job. I simply suggested that you all (aka. experienced players) help new ones, since we were all rookies once too. Spread the joy, you know. It is the time of the season when we should be jolly, and enjoy giving :)
  13. It's a good idea, but then mods will probably be overwhelmed with notifications... We do have ideas how to improve the system of moderation, but it is up to developers to see and decide if they can be implemented.
  14. The same can be said for the life itself - no matter how many teachers, police officers, lawyers and judges you have in the world, there will always be those who will break the law and go unpunished. The same situation is in here - we're trying our best to make the game enjoyable, and a fun place for everyone, but with tens of thousands of players online each day, it's impossible for us to cover, talk to and help all of them, as it is impossible to prevent every violation. So for now, it's up to us all - we are trying to prevent future problems and offences by informing low ranked players who are new to the game about the rules, but seasoned players can help by talking to them too :) That way, instead of reporting them, they can help them realise their mistake - from one player to another.
  15. Hello :) Chat violators' section will not be opened again. The reason for its closure was the fact that chat moderators were spending too much time on the forum, working on reports instead of being active on the chat, preventing violations by helping and educating tankers in the real time. Also, the administration felt that confrontation is not the way to do things, and that It is better to educate than to punish. Our goal is to have a lot of active moderators helping players, really soon. Please be patient until we reach that goal. Until then, feel free to block offensive players. Abusing and Dis-respectful Players

^ And I thank you for that :) As for the topic itself, I think we're going in circles... As I already explained several times not only in this topic, but in this one and the other one as well, there are a lot of requirements to be fulfilled before someone can be accepted as a chat mod candidate, and they do change from time to time. So yeah, everyone is welcome to apply, but please do not gossip or make imaginary reasons for your rejection, if it comes to it. Just stay helpful and polite towards other players and staff members, and wait for another opportunity. It may come sooner than you expect ;)

    Abusing and Dis-respectful Players

When I became an admin, there were only 6-7 of us. Now, we're 20+ and growing. We would have even more mods, but a lot of them had to resign due to real life issues - studies, a job, migration to a new home, taking care of their family, health problems etc. It's not an easy task to be a moderator so please be patient and give us some support, because we are doing our best to help the community...

    Abusing and Dis-respectful Players

Of course we didn't :) As I said in the previous page - not one player was EVER rejected because of their nationality, religion or race ! It's just that we're sometimes looking for applicants from a specific time zone or from specific country, because we have to cover servers which hosts players from that country, and most of them do not speak any other language than their native one...

    Abusing and Dis-respectful Players

Vblog 26 was misunderstood. No one said that karma will be completely disregarded, just that other traits and requirements will be taken into account more - and the applicant's will to help the community. Those who are interested in becoming staff members for their personal gain will be rejected. And as I said, I'm not going to discuss individual cases here.

    Abusing and Dis-respectful Players

I'd say these are examples of disgruntled person, not valid discussion points. I'm here to answer the questions regarding moderation of the chat, so if anyone is interested in that and wishes to ask, please do so. I'm not going to discuss individual applications, though. Everything regarding those - pm please.

    Abusing and Dis-respectful Players

Hi guys. First of all, thank you for making this topic, we'll be glad to answer some of your questions: - As you noticed, EN community is getting bigger and bigger, and it's hard to deal with 20k-100k players 24/7. Not even 150 moderators would be able to be everywhere. For now, we're accepting new candidates every month, and are progressing with educating new players on how to behave on the chat, by talking with them for hours every day. Plus we have a number of players who are helping us with our task, taking their free time to chat with low ranked players themselves, and teaching them about the game. For that, they have a HUGE gratitude from us! - Not one player was ever rejected because of their nationality. It's true that we are sometimes looking for applicants from a specific time zone or from specific nation, and it's because we have to cover servers which hosts players from one country, which do not speak English at all, so other mods cannot help them. Requirements for being accepted as a staff member are numerous, and not all of the applicants are able to fulfil them... Again, nothing to do with the nation, religion or the race. It's more to do with the personality, age, maturity, activity, the number of languages known etc. - I understand that older players are seeing changes that they might not like, but it's normal for a huge game like this to evolve, and to get new players every day. We were new players once upon a time ourselves, and other players helped us to fit in. So instead of moaning for not being accepted as a moderators, help those players yourselves, and show them how enjoyable this game can be for all of us.
  22. Yes, I understand you completely, and that's exactly what we're doing now :) Not in so many words, though, we have to fight the speed of the chat, plus to be careful not to spam it. On top of it all, we have to answer the questions of all the other players in the same time, so it's not as easy as it looks on the paper. Yes, and we're spending a lot of time doing so, plus we're taking every precaution before choosing candidates - not everyone is fit for the job. We want helpers who will be able to stay collected and calm when dealing with offenders, and to have just the right amount of maturity and poise when approaching the situation.
  23. First of all, thanks for the appreciation :) As for server chats, we are aware of the fact that we cannot cover all of them, all the time. They are active 24/7, and there's simply not that many of us, plus some servers are entirely occupied by players who do not speak English, so we have to find suitable moderators to assist them. That being said, we're working our best to acquire more moderators in the next few months, and to be on as many servers as possible, throughout the day (and night). And as for violators' section, we felt that spending hours on the forum instead of being on the chat with the players for the same amount of time is counter-productive.
  24. Then you're not often on EN servers - that's where we mostly put our efforts in. Older players already know the rules of this game, so we chose to focus on those who are relatively new here. And yes, we still ban. Graphic sexual language or racist remarks on the public chat are bannable beyond any doubt - the language and an attitude that is not allowed in your own home certainly isn't allowed here. And as I already pointed out - we can only go up to a point. We're not parents nor teachers, ours is to help and prevent, and that's what we're trying to do.
