They do have to be fluent in English, it is one of the requirements for the position, but as uzumaki here said, English isn't native language for most of them. And that is fine, since they are here to take care of their own communities, be it Arabic, Indian, Hungarian or some other. Currently, chat mods can moderate in more than 30 world languages in our great international community, and I'm extremely proud of them. And the funny thing is - most comments were written by British and American mods :D

Just like it's hard to get enough chat mods. And no, Game Violators aren't selected among chat mods, they are picked and trained differently, as you said yourself. It's just a gossip, the real reason is written somewhere in this topic, if I remember correctly, it had something to do with developers wanting to know the real reason behind every down-vote regarding their updates, and players simply downvoted without comment... Now if they do not like something, they actually have to comment, not just press the button, and every comment is of use to developers. Depends. No one said your opinions are irrelevant, simply telling what I learned from my experience. I'm not an expert for statistics, just an admin who lost a lot of moderators due to the same issue - exams. Not hard to follow a trend there: players are growing up and leaving the game for the college. Also, at this time last year there was a lot of updates (Smart Cooldowns and introducing of new kits system), plus a lot of double fund days, and StarSeries semifinals and final was pretty interesting... a bunch of stuff to keep players on their toes. Now we're pretty much in cool-down, waiting for Unity... As for your removed post - you already guessed why it's removed... Interesting how you're never quick to judge ex-staff members, but staff that actually tries their best to do something, to be here, explain and help.

I'm sorry to cut in your discussion with Damn_Slow, but what deceptions we're talking about? From my experience, a lot of players are teenagers and are having a situation with school and exams, which limits their playing time. It's logical that many of them are going to reduce their time on Tanki... Happens every year, especially in months after summer holidays.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Contrary to popular belief, admins don't know much more than players do, and sometimes even less (if they miss to read the news on the forum, or the latest V-log). Players should understand that not all questions can get an answer, but we're doing our best to fill wiki and Help section of Tanki with all the updated info, so when / if players have particular questions, we'll provide the link to the topic where they can inform themselves.

Omg, from which planet you just landed in this topic?? Yes, moderators are paid in crystals, no one disputed that, they are simply not paid for bans! Mods are not here to punish people and get a reward for that, we're here to help the players and make Tanki more enjoyable place for everyone.

As others said it's their life, and it's not up to you or me to decide what they are doing with their free time and where and how they are going to spend it. We're certainly not forcing anyone to do this or that, and it's not wrong just because you think so - I've seen players playing marathon battles in Tanki that lasted for more than 20h, and even if it was completely crazy for me, players enjoyed it themselves. So go figure.

No, you said that you cannot commit for multiple reasons. In our experience so far, "part time" mods aren't doing enough... especially compared to the fact then some mods work more than 10 hours per day. Every day. We do not force applicants to have that kind of dedication, but daily occurrence is what we're expecting from every candidate. Especially during their training period.

I'll explain, from the point of chat admin. This game has a lot of servers, which in case of EN community have to be checked 24/7, because we have players from all over the world which are playing in different time zones... So in order to be available to players at all times, we need mods with a lot of free time on their hands, to be able to cover as much servers and as much hours per day as possible. Such requirement is even added to the list of requirements for chat mod position. We're also trying to recruit candidates from different countries, with the knowledge of different languages (we're currently covering around 30 world languages), to be of service to all - it's a common situation that several mods have to work on the same server at the time, since players are chatting in several different languages. That leaves other servers without the proper coverage. I'd add that it's much easier in German or Brazilian communities, for example, who are dealing with only one time zone and only one language. So we really need mods to be available on daily basis. In your case, you were offered the position but you clearly said that you, quote, "don't want full time responsibility" and that you "wont be available 4 days of the week for awhile". You also said that you don't want to abandon your clan, since you were a co-leader. So it's not that someone told you that you're not acceptable, you refused position by yourself for multiple reasons. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
