Well, tanki is a team-based game. Titan gets no score either. Only dictator got to get points because too many players were using it only for their own benefit.

Yes... but everyone has missions to complete and where you finish in relation to everyone else on your team determines your reward.  If your OD benefits team-mates as much as it does you, at best you are a net-even after using the most potent item you have.

Titan does not share in scoring true - but IMO it's OD does not benefit the team-mates quite as much scoring-wise.  I'd say Hunter is a more close example, where it weakens enemies and then friendlies can kill them easier.

But my main point was it is a nerf to the hornet-user, regardless of how the team benefits.

I hope this is the place to complain, so here goes...

 

Dear Hazel and Co., have to lost your minds?  I mean seriously, for real, no joke, none, zero, no metaphors here, no exaggeration.  First you nerfed Hornets ability to have AP vs all targets and went on to limiting it to some in view, which was a huge selling point for it, and one of the few equalizers on the map for dealing with 'roided out buyer junkies.

Now you pretend to reduce the range of it to 50 meters, FROM ITS" 1000 original, essentially turning it into a melee tool to be used when you have a great many number near you?  Negates the power of it almost entirely.

I played with it this evening and it is clear that Hornet's overdrive is now useless, completely.  Any ranged turret that used the overdrive in conjunction has basically lost its overdrive.

 

I don't even claim to nary a guess where this idea came from, only that it's was so stupid, so onerous, so completely unacceptable that even with all my opinions and the mountains of complaints I have with Tanki nowadays, this one would have never occurred to me.  Hornet is useless now.

Watch this video!

This combo is most powerful for healer!

It can heal 64,000 health/sec if you use booster and Hornet’s overdrive.

(critical healing health per a tick)4000*(ticks per a second)4*(booster)4=64000

I could save Juggernaut from 2 Viking overdrive user even they shot perfectly 7 seconds

So id like to revisit some hornet play. Ive heard a lot about its nerfed Od which seems good but practically how do you best use it now? 
 

Does it function better with short or long range weapons?

It functions better with turrets that have high critical damage multipliers. The main offensive attraction of Hornet's Overdrive is the Supercharge. Evidenced by the fact that they significantly nerfed the AP part of the Overdrive, and added a score penalty equal to the duration of the Supercharge. 

 

As the months go by, Hornet's Overdrive will continue to be indirectly buffed by the turrets themselves being buffed with their critical damage parameters.

Ive been gone for a bit. Supercharge is not the armor piercing part? So it helps weapons do more damage? Like fire/freeze? I dont see many hornets much so not sure what hornet users are using

Hornet applies AP to enemies and applies Supercharge to itself for 7 seconds. Supercharge makes it so that any damage you deal during the duration is critical damage. As more turrets get increased critical damage, you will see them being used with Hornet and Dictator more often. Recently, Freeze got a hefty critical damage multipliers, which is why you may see a lot of Hornet Freezesz especially in Juggernaut.

Most players, about 99.99% have hornet, so why is it way OP with it's overdrive. So OP it wrecks everything in it's path, including a maxed out titan (shield up) with defender drone and 50% against the turret. No money to be made from hornet and yet it is so unbalanced.

TO is dead.

????????? hornet has like the most dead OD ever lol only with Freeze its OP with another turrets its either pointless or balanced

As it happens I was inferring that freeze was the turret but your wrong, hammer is also OP along with tesla. 

By the way you used the word "balanced" in your sentence, you on drugs and I don't mean a speed boost either.

So...hornet. It used to be way OP and maybe now is weaker for the user but wow! It is so good to have a teammate with hornet. My fav combo thrives on ambushes and being able to see the enemy completely changes games. I love it!

@Potdindy I think it’s balanced. In old tanki hornet M3 was 100HP and Viking was at 150HP and mammoth at 200HP. If you think about it Mk7+ hornet it’s 2000HP Viking is 3000Hp and mammoth at 4000HP. It also should be mentioned that you’ll need to have protections equipped and the various drones of choice. I personally use Crisis since recruit so I got use to it, however if you play with short range weapons such as freeze, fire and isida you’ll want to consider a different drone.
