Personally see no reason to take the forum down. It is an archive of tanki, going as far back as 2012, maybe even farther, i am not sure. Thousands of posts, i would venture millions and even trillions from tankers then and now are stored here. It charts the popularity, and decline of popularity, in tanki. Almost a decade's worth of tanki online newspaper is stored here; if this forum is taken down, all that would be gone; im sure many didnt save their works somewhere else. Also, for some of us, this is where we go to to find old friends whom we dont have any other way of contacting... (forever hoping CRUSSHER will make a forum acc someday ) so the deletion of the forum is full of cons.

But someone at tanki got all butthurt when I suggested the forum has outlived its usefulness and deleted my post.

By the way, i do feel like my posts are childish. Its the same way with any composition or story i write. For the first few minutes of brainstorming it feels like everything is awesome, and i cant wait to post it here at the AWS. but then i go sleep and wake, and all the motivation is replaced with 'eep, this is kinda dum'. And i have often looked back at my old posts and think 'aw shucks is there a way to delete that'  so now whenever i post, i do try to make sure it is not something that i would  feel dumb about.

Also, if im not supposed to give a reply to your post, i dont see why it shouldnt be deleted, since if we cannot discuss, it might as well not be here.

By the way can you point out how my post was childish?

In my opinion MySpace was a weird thing that some movies talked about. I never was old enough to care. And tbh idk how that went.

 

I think youre one of those that lkke to be very vety pessimistic. Ive seen quite a few here at tanki and they arent here anymore. So maybe you should consider leaving the forum as well. Maybe youll feel better. Because i defenitely will not feel better if the forum is removed. But yes, i can respect your opinion.

In your old post about shutting tanki down, you said its embarrassing to look at the forum's decline. Heres a fun option, dont look!

I have seen so many prophets of doom in tanki i stopped getting worried by them.

I, and trillions of others, don't care what the newspaper is/was about. It's mere lack of existence today proves that. I have zero responsibility or inclination to wade through inane and useless posts to find it. Except that those 'prophets' you speak of only have to be correct once. And I mean, you can see the game/forum's incredible decline to almost nothing, can't you?

This forum used to be actually somewhat interesting.

Now, this forum is like an old and fat Elvis Presley. Slurring the words to his decades-past and tired songs on stage in front of an aging and indifferent crowd hoping to squeeze one last moment of enjoyment from the artist who made songs they used to like. Barely even fitting into his pants because he got bloated and fat on money and druugs.

 

But even then, there were still young naive and silly little girls in the front row cheering every burp, every drop of drool oozing from his mouth as the backup singers sang louder to cover up his fall from grace. Those are the ones who never saw his ultimate demise on his own toilet.

 

Today, tanki is that Elvis.

And you are in the front row.

I have no illusion about where the game is headed. I know it is basically sinking. The devs are basically bailing the water out, instead of fixing the leak. However I fail to see how deleting the forum will benefit the game in ANY way.

That happened to the forum of some other region this year or last year, i cant remember. I know it is possible that they do it, though i still cannot see how it possible benefits them. The deletion of the newspaper kinda made sense; the reporters were getting less. The postings were one story weekly. I witnessed it shutting down and it is not a memory i relish. I think that the devs  deleted the other forum because it was bwsically dead. I kid you not, sometimes they go 3 days with no new posts. Most posts are from the CM of that community, doing updates and such. I kind of pity that CM, to see his community fall into pieces... for me it would have felt very bad. But unfortunately we have no power in the forum. We voice our opinions, but in the end it is up to the devs what they want to do. Maybe they want to cut their losses. Thwt will not suprise me at all, thry did it before. But i would not rejoice in the deletion of the forum. I see no reason to do so. The forum is  where players go to to find information on the game. Once that id gone, they get bamboozled by updates because it is hard to find reliable people to explain the updates. Then, since basically the game itself is the only thing holding you to tanki, one day you will very soon find yourself bored by it and move  on. 

In order to fix that, the devs must make the game fun. As in, engaging, not fun as in 'wow, i got one single good battle out of ten; thats pretty good'. If the game is engaging, players will naturally seek out friends among the player base. That will lead to a community. And that is what the forum is for. 

Therefore deleting the forum does nothing. What needs to change is the game. 

Just saying, if you see deleting the forum as a good thing because it is so horrible now, that is just like the devs; ignoring the real problem and doing some random that does not adress the real problem.

Anyways i am by no means cheering tanki on. Instead i am trying to prevent (according to your simile) 'Elvis' from having to have backup singerd cover up. The only thing wrong about your example is that, in the end, elvis was getting old, there is nothing better he can do than to cut his losses. Tanki can be fixed. Only, instead of fixing it, it is doing desperate lip synching. Fake it till you make it does not work. You need to fix the issue. I do not believe tanki devs do not know the problem. I also do not believe they are not adressing it. The problem is, they are not 100% focused on it. Instead they roll out updates that for the most part does nothing. It is like counterfeit money. Looks good but worth zilch.

as a summary, basically deleting the forum will be like the notorious updates that does nothing; it does not do anything to fix the game, so therefore it should not be done. 

you know the events players keep saying are useless and that they want something that actually makes the game better? Deleting thr forum fits right into the category of event updates.

THE game is overpriced and full of OP garbage. This includes the floating hack paladin, as well as the other trash cans. It also includes any and all mobile players. 

There is no incentive, at least at maxed out Legend (which has become boring) to indulge this OP cash grab any further, so I don't.

As for the forum-It is dying slowly from boredom.

That constructive enough for you, or should I begin writing a full on novel about ALL the negative things that have demolished this game.

So a player named @krish123super just joined the forum, and his name gave me a jumpscare because i recollect having seen the same or similar nick posting on the frum during 2016 or somewhere around there. I did a bit of digging and found @krish123_super, which i am sure is the person im thinking of, but a visit to his profile revealed that he never posted anything. So any of you old timer forumers remember krish123_super? Im pretty sure the one with underscore is the right one cuz it gave me an instant pang of nostalgia. So.. if you remember him posting can ysll just inform me so i know im not crazy :x thanks

What's even the point in posting these messages anymore on the forum in 2025?

The members who are left just have too high of internet/keyboard testosterone to know when to back off. And the mods wont even bat an eye when disagreements escalate into personal attacking flame wars for the most part.

But when a player simply criticizes the game, regardless if it's in the most respectful way, then the post has a much higher chance of being hidden or taken down.

Hello, criticism isn't being removed for being negative, only if it violates the rules. A respectful and constructive post is especially welcome and we encourage players to write so. 
As for personal attacks, we review and take actions if necessary and you can also report posts if you feel like they violate the rules.

Never said that they were directly being removed. Just that they have a much higher chance of being removed than the serious flamatory posts.

Honestly, if I was a mod, I would have given the message way sooner. Like way before it can even reach to the point of players throwing personal jabs at each other. If the players continue to instigate, then they would have been given like 2-3 warnings. And if it does reach the such a point, then the players involved would have been given lengthy bans. 

And I'm pretty sure this used to be a thing in the forum, up until around 2020.
