Patch Update #721 - Released 14th April 2023

  • A new augment for Shaft has been added to Ultra Containers — «Incendiary Sight».
    • (Note) This augment ignites the target on critical arcade shots and on any sniper mode shots.
  • Event missions now disappear right when an event ends.
    • (Note) It means you should claim rewards for event missions before Monday morning (before the end date of the event), or they will disappear.
  • Updated the design of the battle results screen
    • Instead of text buttons, we added buttons with icons to make it easier to understand which button will open the Garage and which one will move you to the next battle.
    • Added a button to purchase «Premium Pass»
  • Added mission categories system
    • When you open the «Missions» screen, you will be shown the categories of missions
    • There is a separate category for missions of each event with a timer showing how much time there is left to complete them.
    • Challenges are removed from this screen. To access them, you need to click on the special widget in the Lobby.
    • (Note) You will see some new categories of missions, which have never been in the game before. We won’t tell you what these missions are and when new ones will be added. Keep an eye on our website and social media to be the first to find out.
  • Drone rebalance
    • The following drones are removed from the game: Driver, Trooper, Engineer, Sprinter, Miner, Supplier, Assault, Lifeguard, Blaster, and Camper.
    • Players will get a compensation of 60% of the crystals they spent on upgrading the removed drones.
    • Batteries are removed from the game.
    • You will get compensation for all batteries you had. For every battery, you get 1 unit of each of the following supplies: Repair Kit, Boosted Armor, Boosted Damage, and Speed Boost.
    • (Note) Do not forget to check if you have a drone equipped before entering a battle otherwise you will not have access to supplies!
  • Changes in the Upgrades system
    • Upgrades happen instantly now, no more need to wait or speed them up.
    • The 100% discount on the next modification of equipment if the previous modification is fully upgraded, has been removed. 
    • Added an option to use Tankoins to upgrade when a player does not have enough crystals.
    • Added a pop-up window to confirm before upgrades. 
    • The prices of upgrading Mk1-Mk6 modifications are the same for all turrets and hulls now.
    • (Note) We have not changed the prices of upgrades.
  • Firebird
    • Burning duration changed from 1-10 to 1.5-5 seconds
    • Heating rate decreased from 0.2-0.4 to 0.15-0.3 temp/sec
  • Hammer
    • Critical damage chance increased from 10% to 13%
    • «Assault Magazine» augment
      • Shot reload duration decrease changed from -85% to -80%
      • Clip reload duration decrease changed from -50% to -40%
      • Added a decrease of critical damage chance: -50%
  • Twins
    • Critical damage chance decreased from 8% to 7%.
    • «Pulsar» augment
      • No longer decreases the chance of critical damage
  • Ricochet
    • Critical damage chance decreased from 9% to 8%. 
    • «Pulsar» augment
      • No longer decreases the chance of critical damage
  • Vulcan 
    • Turret rotation slowdown when firing decreased from 40-30% to 20-10%
    • Barrel startup decreased from 1 to 0.75 sec
    • Barrel slowdown decreased from 1 to 0.75 sec
    • Projectile speed increased from 200-250 m/sec to 200-300 m/sec
    • Overheat resistance decreased from 9-12 sec to 8-9 sec
    • Overheat temperature limit decreased from 0.5-1 to 0.15
    • Self-heating rate decreased from 0.3-0.5 temp/sec to 0.15 temp/sec
    • Critical damage chance decreased from 4% to 2%
    • Augment «Shooting speed regulator» – Barrel startup time decrease changed from 85% to 80%; Barrel slowdown time decrease changed from 85% to 80%.
  • Scorpion
    • Coefficient of decreasing shot reload duration when Viking’s overdrive is activated changed from 0.4 to 0.3
  • Magnum
    • Coefficient of decreasing shot reload duration when Viking’s overdrive is activated changed from 0.4 to 0.3
  • Juggernaut
    • Overdrive charge per second decreased from 1666 to 1111 units
  • Mechanic
    • The number of battle points for assistance decreased from 5 to 4
    • Now additionally consumes 4 units of the «Repair Kit» supply
    • No longer uses batteries
  • Two-factor authentication now works not for the account of the player, but for their device.

Why? So there is 0 point in upgrading stuff at low ranks now

A low amount of players used this feature anyways, so removing it is a step in the right direction. Upgrading your turrets/hulls at low ranks is still worth if if you want to progress faster and do better in battles.

Remember you folks celebrate when the Devs said drones will no longer use batteries only to find out they significantly increase the drug consumption to "simplify the game" a few days after?

Wait, does this mean they simply remove speed ups, and therefore we save a HUGE amount of crystals?

Bad news is that in the future it'd be wise to buy no more than just a few upgrades per modification until mk7.

The good news is that it'll allow players in these ranks to spend their crystals elsewhere, like upgrading drones or diversifying their garage.

you're right, the devs might do something awful with the update system in the next patch or something. I'm not going to say what because I don't want to give them any ideas...

I used to save for future BPs, oh well, extra grinding it is.

I used this system a lot. Not positive about this one though.

this is nice and all, but have you forgot about the players who spent millions of crystals to speed up their upgrades to max out turrets, hulls, modules and drones? Where is the compensation for us who spent their hard earned crystals on those kind of ends?

There won't be any compensation

I haven't used speed-ups that much, but I have spent a lot on out-of-sale upgrades because waiting for a sale for every upgrade would mean waiting too long to completely upgrade something

So new or lower-ranked players (including my token-of-apology alts) will end up spending a lot fewer crystals than I did to get to where my main accounts are now if prices don't change, like only needing 500k to max a drone in a 50% sale or 228k to get a mk7 turret to 7/20 or 225k to take a protection module from 35% to 50%

It's one way of trying to solve the gap between newer and older players in higher ranked battles I suppose

Having to wait for upgrades to finish has been a feature of the game for so long that instant upgrades are going to be really strange, and might remove an incentive to play for some players

Remember folks, a wise man narrating the vlog once said: "we know you guys hate status effect augments.."  

Regarding the upgrade system, no way the developers decided to implement this change without another money-making counter plan

It is not a considerable nerf, but similarly with Vacuum Shell and Helios, they are slowly whittling down its maximum efficiency. This nerf will primarily be felt if you have high % Hammer protection and you time your repair kit activations well in 1 v 1s against them.

I get what you are saying, but as somebody who earned a lot of his own crystals to upgrade equipment, I feel scammed out of my time and crystals. Most of my crystals I've spent went into upgrading equipment in order to have the best hulls and turrets maxed out, yet I feel like I could've done what I achieved with much less now, especially if you consider that I also used to pay for Ultra Container and other stuff, now it is just like you take your crystals, use them to buy the event currency and never using the event currency for what it was made for. Now think again. Do you really think that is fair to us older players? To those who actually spent time and money to get what they have on their account now? I really don't think it is justified anymore, I was fine with them giving us at least some compensation for the drones, but leaving us empty-handed on such a big change?

That was my question. Thank you for answering it. And even with a high level of protection against hammer, i bet you that i will still lose most 1v1s against them. The time that it takes to fire all 3 shots is too short for me to time my repair kit, especially as i play on an average of 100 ping. Also, vaccuum is still broken, and so is hyperspeed shells.

I don't think it is fair, but I don't know what I would do with any compensation either

Some of my accounts are 5 years old now and my oldest one (Legend 12) has 6 maxed turrets, 5 maxed hulls, 2 maxed drones (Hyperion and Trickster are the only ones I'll ever use in MM), every module maxed, and more supplies than I'll ever use

If I get 1 million crystals from a UC from Cosmo event then I won't know what to do with them; I've already bought and maxed everything that I like using

what I would do with a compensation? A lot, for example, you could easily get good rewards from events like the current one where you are able to buy energy, also we will need a lot more supplies in the future from what I've seen so far.

I am talking about activating repair kits after they fire their clip. Their max reload will be 1.5 seconds instead of 1.25 seconds. That longer reload will allow you to gain a bit more HP out of the repair kit before they interrupt it, which if you had high % Hammer module, could allow you to survive 1-2 more clips before you go down depending on the situation. Those 1-2 clips is extra seconds of you being alive to take them down before they do or finish whatever action you were doing (capping a flag/point, running behind cover etc.). 

 

I'm comparing it to Helios and Vacuum Shell because they've taken this path with them before. Helios' maximum reload being increased from 4.3 seconds to 6 seconds did not affect the burst damage it had, but its trickle damage after it runs out of energy. Its trickle firing rate was reduced which allowed enemies more HP recovered by their repair kits which extended the engagement longer than before the nerf. That reduces the Helios' efficiency and allows players to survive longer and fight back.

You may have seen players in recent months or in the near future complaining that Helios is "too weak now" and that is precisely because of its maximum reload being increased from 6 seconds to 8.7 seconds. The time between its trickle shots have been increased again, further punishing the user if they did not kill the target with the initial burst damage because repair kits last longer before the next trickle shot interrupts it. So instead of killing the target in 5 seconds with the 4.3 second reload Helios, they may now take up to 20 seconds to kill the same target with the 8.7 second reload. 

 

Vacuum Shell's reduction in efficiency is more direct as the damage you deal with the splash has been decreased over time, where now there is even a damage penalty for directly hitting a target. Yes, Vacuum Shell is still strong but not as efficient as it before the nerfs. I'm just trying to show you what effect these nerfs have had and will have. Expect Assault Magazine to slowly lose its efficiency in the coming months instead of an instant mega-nerf like you were expecting.
