    Your idea is good, however hard to implement. Nevertheless it is a good starting point of simplification targetted to efficiency. Q: How? A: Delegate players to disable hacker gains as first step of defence. Implementation guidelines: The game final crystals distribution modal box is the key. 1. Enhance it so that: - it has the list of all players that participated at this specific created game, mandatory including all those left earlier; - the list is proceeded by radiobutton control for each player listed; - before hitting the close button on that dialog, a player, if wishes, can select one suspected hacker. 2. Setup a thershlod for accumulative tolerence for the accussed hackers, for example 30 accuses from unique players. After reaching this threshhold the hacker cannot collect crystalls at the games jackpot distribution for the current and any following game for a predefined period of play - example - a week, 10 days, etc. After the penalty period expires, these 'black' 30 points are nullified, and if the 'hacker' has not accumulated already other points for other threshold trigger for panalty, he again is able to win crystals. 3. The reporting players have a pool of 2 or max 3 reports of hacker per day/24 hours. That is to avoid misuse of false or intentional reports. Again put an accumulative reporting threshold to the player reporting side, lets say 20 reports, after that disallow reports from that player for a pre-defined period - for example 2 weeks. 4. On background/database scope the mods can do further analysis of how often a player has been reported as a hacker, and do the final ban of this player to the game. The provided values are just for example, and need further tuning, but I hope you have grasped the idea. good to see some suggestions :) one question - what if a clan or group of people decide to flag a player as a hacker, even though he/she is not? player initiated bans are a fail due to the innate human characteristic to cheat! sad but true im afraid. the issue of bans can only be carried out by an appointed moderator backed with either first hand proof or evidence provided.

    Monkey, Communication can take many forms. Skype is just one, and based on what I have seen not required to be effective at a this job. Simple documentation would suffice, and the forum's PM tool are more than enough. The gripe is that it is unnecessary. from what i have seen of the mod set up you really do need skype mate.

    dont see what thats got to do with anything other than you sh*t stirring? and the owners at CC are the biggest set of clowns going, fact he got a perma ban (like me ))) from CC means he has gone up 10x in my book. i may start a perma banned from CC club....

    dont see what ur gripe is about not getting the mod 'job' cos you dont have skype. if you need to communicate with everyone else using skype and you cant or wont use it then thats your problem.

    i wasnt having a go at the mods in my previous post. as for complaining to the devs- where is the forum section regarding suggestions to devs and feedback? the game isnt set up to listen to the players is it? anyway back to the mod situation. as it stands the job that mods have to do is nothing more than a total joke. until things change as discussed above then frankly its an ineffective thankless task that the mods have. i see hardly any value in even having mods at this moment in time, given as you put it the tools you have at hand. perhaps 1% of violations ranging from swearing bullying abuse to hacking and multing are caught and punished imo. thats a harsh indictment of a massively failing system. so we have the mods crying for a better system, players do the same. will the devs listen and make the required changes as a matter of utmost urgency? going by previous timescales of implementing changes (or not) im not going to hold my breath thats for sure. in the meantime we will all just struggle on with a dirty feeling of getting raped by the game owners. MM. ps. as i try to send this all servers crashed and i get this Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to tankionline.com Suggestions: :roll: This web page is not available Google Chrome could not load the web page because tankionline.com took too long to respond. The website may be down or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.

    i have stated before in the past. its actually incredibly dumb that a mod or admin cant enter a game as a 'ghost' to view violations. as you ask for a solution, i propose that a live flagging system for players to contact mods during games and mods to be able to enter games unseen would really help. also an, 'in game' voting system to pause the game until a mod arrives would really help. lets see hackers hack when the game is paused until a mod arrives. this would also mean that mods would be directed to problem games and therefore use their time more efficiently. if this system was in place i think there would be little or no hacking in the game and even the mult situation could be combated. for me an anti cheat system is always flawed. its something the devs can never win. a patch is applied and then hackers work away at finding a new way to beat the system 'ad infinitum'. i dont know for sure either, but it seems more than a coincidence that since the anti cheat system has been in place the game has been lagtastic. there thats my 2 pence worth. can it be that hard to implement the changes i suggest? no harder than implementing the failed cheat system surly?

    i remember a story from a long time ago in a place far far away. there was once a game you could play online. the game was great, you could drive your tank against the forces of evil spreading joy to your fellow team mates. the game was not infected by millions of mult accounts. the game was not the hangout of hackers in droves. the servers were fewer in numbers, but the game didnt crash all the time and lag wasnt an issue. true story bro

    make friends with someone thats already a mod. suck up to them for a few months, tell them they are king and get them to get you a mod position. also helps if you are a kid that has aspirations of future, behind the keyboard megalomania.. agree 100% at least 5 times more mods required. 24 servers and even on S1 there isnt a constant mod presence.

    good idea! it would be super easy for tanki to set up too. however i doubt 'they' will. skitteeee why not set up a shoutcast station urself and call it tanki radio? perhaps you could get a sticky at the top of the forum with a schedule and link??? anyone can play tunes or talk with a mike using many programs like winamp or VDJ for the more pro out there :D would need someone (like you) to be admin but its all very simple. good luck :) MM

    I had never thought of this before, but it certainly sounds like a good idea. I don't like the NS and drug ideas (what's the point of drugs if everyone else is going to be using them as well?), but certainly a few subscription-only servers would be a good thing. The dangers of that and what must be avoided is if tanki then decide to implement a runescape-style "Membership" with vast amount of benefits on those subscription-only servers: a few, like testing weapons a week in advance, or a couple of extra maps, yes; but not too many, otherwise that will lead people away from the free servers. all drugs batlles are what i play the game for. i take no pleasure from using drugs in a game to waste a load of drugless nubs. the best games to be found are when all players use drugs in a battle (and know how to drug). these games are harder to find than rocking horse sh*t. a server for the abuse of drugs would be a winner for me, as i am sure the NS players would agree likewise.

    not sure if you mean a language server or dedicated servers for game play? the former i guess.... what we REALLY need are geo located servers. One in USA, Japan, UK and Russia (for example). At the moment the people closest to the Russian servers get all the 'Ping' advantages when entering games, less lag etc. Try playing a duel railgun with a Russian where the ping can make a massive difference in who gets that shot away first!

    1. yes if implemented in the correct way. see below. 2. 0%. see below. 3. no drop at all in players. see below :) we have 24 (bad) servers at the moment (or partitions on a server ...but thats a whole new thread!) it would be quiet plausible for the devs to make 10 servers, subscription only servers. say 5 servers for drug only battles and 5 for NS. this would give people more options. different game play options and different payment options. the other servers could remain as they are. i dont see any draw backs to this proposal at all. i would like the option of a subscription based service to erode the number of mults in a the game. thou not eradicating them totally it would reduce the numbers by far.

    like i said tommy, no disrespect, but top end http://forum.tankionline.com/posts/list/92214.page this is the issue that causes the problem for me. Also, for once, I agree with MD. It's not just mults, but the powers that are supposed to police the game are a joke(and for the mods its not their fault). Violators that constantly abuse the game should be blocked from playing. Same with the karma for chat bans, people that violate should be subject to acount blocking within the same criteria. 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and then finally perm blocks. Until this happens, I doubt there will be any sort of fair play, or a lack of people willing to cheat in the game.
