    Buyers Powerleveling With Golds

I find it strange that this rule exists and also isn't published anywhere other than in individual topics like that. I swear, some of the chat/game mod rules are so absurd...

    Buyers Powerleveling With Golds

That's literally the main purpose of the gold box supply. First of all, dropping golds to distract opponents isn't a 100% reliable strategy because your team can get distracted as well. And it can even backfire if the enemies choose to ignore the golds and attack while the rest of your teammates do the opposite and leave you to carry the game alone. And in the end, there's nothing unfair about that strategy. If your team gets distracted by gold boxes, then it's not the devs' fault for giving players ability to drop golds - you just have a bad team :)

    Regenerative module

Valid [mdl] 40hp/sec may be too OP and this doesn't really fit in with the rest of the modules. But the general idea of a regenerative module sounds interesting, especially if it will also have some drawbacks, such as decreasing turret power or hull health.

    Last few weeks

Pointless topic. The infamous saying of "Tanki is dying" has been around for at least the past 4 years and guess what, the game is still doing great. The decrease in the number of active users is expected and actually much better than what devs predicted, so claiming that the game will die is unjustified. If you want to express your dislike of a particular update or other aspect of the game, please use the complaint book. Closed.

    10 000 Posts | Tanki Memories

10 000 Posts | Tanki Memories I'm just gonna admit that I'm way too obsessed with the forum to be able to simply ignore the milestone of ten thousand posts; which is why I decided to post this topic of random rambling to... celebrate it... I guess? And I'm also coming up to the second anniversary of me becoming a mod (28 December 2014), so that's another reason. I thought it might be interesting to share my first experiences with Tanki. Not to brag, but I'm pretty much one of the oldest active players in Tanki and what the game was like for me when I started is significantly different to what newbies or even 2013-and-above players experienced when they started. And I might as well bring back some memories before I forget them completely :P So, I discovered Tanki quite simply from a website advert. I don't know where exactly, but a banner on the right side of the screen caught my attention and I clicked on it. I do have some interest in tanks and third-person shooter games (driving around in the Rhino tank in GTA is one of my favorite things), but what really amazed me is the fact that a full 3D game was available in-browser, without any downloads and installation - just a simple registration. That seemed revolutionary to me, having spent years playing only primitive flash games like ones on Miniclip, so I kept playing. There was no tutorial back in 2011. I was sent directly to a battle for newbies. I remember that it was a winter Boombox - one of two maps on which Recruits could end up on (the other being Sandbox). The first image that clearly imprinted in my head was that of a Titan Twins M0, standing in one place and firing in random directions around him. I thought at that point "Wow, what an awesome tank! I bet it took ages to save up for it!". I had no idea that in a matter of days I would not only have that very tank, but would be also facing far superior enemies. (Three of the screenshots are a rough recreation of the real experience :3) My first big encounter The next thing I remember is playing CTF on Sandbox. I had an idea of how CTF works from other games, but I remember how it took me 10 minutes to figure out that our own flag needs to also be at the base in order to capture the enemy one. I also remember seeing a red Titan Firebird and thinking pretty much the same thing as when I saw that Twins. CTF on Sandbox and an almost-red almost-Titan Firebird I was surprised at how fast I managed to save up for Twins, Firebird and Titan, but I'm pretty sure their performance in battle turned out to be rather disappointing. The next impressive moment I can recall is when a Hunter Railgun was standing on top of Short Bridge and firing his powerful projectiles, one-shotting every single enemy. I wanted to have that gun ASAP. Although I must say that I didn't quite like it either because of the ridiculous reload time. I had that M0 all the way until the Rebalance. That battle on Short Bridge was also one where I managed to flip myself on basically flat ground and spent 5 minutes lying upside-down because I didn't know how to self-destruct and there were no enemies, who could kill me. Probably because they ran after being massacred by that Railgun :D Lucky for me, one of the guys told me to press "delete" and saved me from my suffering. First big fail The next important moment was entering my first big battle. Unsurprisingly, it was on Silence - the map that occupied at least 30% of the server. Yeah, not the brightest days of Tanki map variety... Anyway, back then the rank limits in battles were simply absurd. With the maximum range, Marshals (the highest rank at the time) could play in the same battles as Staff Sergeants. When I loaded in, I was met with a crazy sight of all these new turrets and hulls. Before the Rebalance newbies only had access to four turrets and three hulls, while Isida, Thunder, Ricochet, Freeze, Shaft, Mammoth, Viking and Hornet were part of the so-called "second generation". Sure, I saw their pictures in the garage, but watching them in battle was something else. And with all these super-fast and powerful M3 tank, my "amazing" Titan Twins M0 suddenly seemed rather puny compared to these pros. Somehow I ended up buying Hornet, continued playing for a while with Twins and Firebird, which I now finally decided to upgrade to M3, for a humongous price of 500 crystals! That's where I made my first screenshot of the game: Hornet Firebird on Space Madness - a map I wanted to show off to my friend. Back then I only just found out how to use the 'Prnt Scr' button on the keyboard, which explains why I don't have anything prior to that. Pls don't judge. My first screenshot But it wasn't all butterflies and flowers in my Tanki Career. People say, "2010 Tanki was the best", but nah - believe me when I say that the situation is much better now. Battles were always dominated by a single M3-M3 drugger with infinite supplies. That's how I had my first big loss, when a couple raiders captured 200 flags in half an hour, after I spent 5 hours working hard to keeping my team in the lead. Another one was on a 200 flag Fort Knox, but that was mostly a case of me simply being a noob. There was a Wasp Railgun, named BCEM_TPU6A (roughly translates to "you're all rekt"), and he kept killing my Titan Twins over and over without me landing a single hit on him. That was when I turned into the perfect definition of "salty", screaming at my monitor and swearing in chat. And that was also when I finally decided to switch from that ugly combo  Can't do an article about Tanki experiences without mentioning Gold boxes. Probably over 90% of golds back then were taken by "gold hunters" - mults on Mammoths, who entered a high fund battle, sat in pause mode until the fund reached 700, then occupied the spot where the gold fell, easily took the box and left, leaving the newbies with nothing. By the way, that was when the phrase "gold was" came to exist, because people would enter the game around 700 fund and ask if the gold already dropped, since it could drop at anywhere between 700 and 730 fund. But my first and only gold dropped by the old system (at every 700 crystals of fund) was during a long CTF battle on Bridges. Myself and another guy on my team have been playing there for over an hour and we were the only dedicated players on our team - the rest would just come and go. We kinda became battle buddies back there and when the fund was coming up to 1400, he said that he will help me get the gold, since he already got the first one. We went to the middle, laid down a bunch of mines and I caught the gold. Just like that - a box spawning above me and falling on my head. But such a seemingly basic event triggered so much emotion in me that I could barely think straight, let alone remember to take a screenshot :D That may have been the third or fourth gold I ever saw, and the second I ever got close to. The first one was on Fort Knox III (now Edinburgh), and that one was another big frustration. I spent 5 minutes mining the area and holding back enemies, only to have some Viking Freeze come and push me off the spot, stealing the gold box. Don't really remember anything particularly important after that. At WO-3 I bought and instantly fell in love with Ricochet, eventually upgrading that to M2 and Viking to M3. Then the Rebalance happened, after which Rico became a ridiculously weak turret, so I switched to Hornet Firebird. After half a year I joined a Russian "Ricochet Club", where other Rico fans got together to play Rico-only format battles, since that was the only way to use the turret. Then later joined a "Fair play" club, where we only played PRO battles with no supplies or MUs and even did a preliminary equipment balance in order to have fair teams. At that point I was actively playing on three accounts, one of which had a Wasp Railgun (later switched to Smoky and now - Isida) and the other - Mammoth Twins, later Thunder. My main account was a Hornet Firebird in Blue (yes, no protection!) for over 2 years and until Colonel rank. That was when I started buying new paints: Tundra, Inferno, Emerald, Prodigi, Jade, in that order. And a year later, at Marshal rank, got Smoky M3 during that 1-hour 70% sale, which was my first M3 turret and a start towards collecting a full garage. Club family photo That pretty much brings us to the present day and the end of my story. I feel like I should add some sort of meaningful message here to conclude, but I really lack the inspiration for that, so I just hope you enjoyed the read and found out something new about myself and old Tanki :) See you around! -Maf
  8. And not a word about the long, twisted tunnel system Canyon used to have before 2012. Disappointed. 2/10

  10. It's definitely quite beneficial. You get more kills and experience from it, as well as not run the risk of damaging each other by accident. I think it's better than teaming unofficially, despite the reduced damage penalty.
  11. Out of the top of my head - mission probabilities. This is something I kinda know, but it would be nice to know exactly what the probability of each mission is, as well as the size of rewards you can get. The wiki only lists the types of missions and the fact that crystal and supply rewards are separated 50/50.

    Tanki World Records

Not okay. Player formustang12345 has been banned for 5 seconds. Reason: Envy (Forum).
  13. Unfortunately the Tanki Wiki isn't particularly informative and a lot of stuff could potentially be added if devs agreed to release the information and if the Wiki could be edited by anyone (although there are downsides to this). My job as a moderator-consultant requires me to research a lot and know things about the game, so I do naturally spend a lot of time looking for information and reading articles. A lot of it is just to answer a question asked by someone else, but a lot is also to satisfy my own curiosity and assist me with progress in the game. But to be honest, other than calculating prices for equipment and MUs, there isn't much else to research in this game, compared to some others.

Yep, that's what this guy's idea of a "topic" is.

Sir Riddler approves the update. Tanki developers may now relax.

    deck 9 what you think?

First of all, not just one, but three old maps have been added back with this update - you forgot Canyon and Magadan. Second, the discussion of maps happens either in this topic or, for the new maps, in the news topic. There is no need to have a separate topic for a single map. Closed.
