The camera turns into cinematic panning mode and very slowly follows your tank. Once you die the camera keeps moving towards your tank, but as soon as you start flying to the respawn point the camera instantly "flies" with you and appears over your tank where it should be when you respawn.

With the recent Mouse Controls and even more recent Camera Settings updates we suddenly got a whole new opportunity to take amazing screenshots of ourselves and our friends. People enjoy photographing their gold boxes, parkour, rank ups, photoshoots, scenery, etc. and I believe that such "photography" has now become a very important part of the community. The one little thing that gets in the way when taking screenshots is the health and reload bar - those two lines are OK up close, but the further away your tank is from the camera, the more they affect the image and many epic images get ruined because of it: My suggestion is: Add an option to disable the whole user interface (health, reload, XP, supplies, battle timer...), but if possible, leave the nicknames (and make your own nickname show) I think such an option would fit in easily in the setting menu under "show skybox" and next to "show drop zones" [intf]

It makes sense to go up there because there because the chance of finding a gold spot there is three times greater than in any other place where only one gold drops. The only better place to go is the centre middle, because there are five spots there, but if the bottom area is dominated by the enemy team, then it's better to stay "upstairs" to have a lower risk of getting killed. Besides, from up above you can see the whole map, so if the box isn't dropping up there then you still have a good chance of noticing it in the air and driving up to the spot while it falls.

You can't. Once you "park" the camera, you won't be able to move it around - just tilt the angle and rotate the view.

Great topic. I was just about to create one about this exact feature and you beat me to it :) I edited your topic and added a line about "Cinematic mode". Feel free to change or remove it if you want to.

"Spectator mode" using camera settings
Maf replied to Maf in "Spectator mode" using camera settings Archive
Thanks to this Tanki Online update, Now everyone can have their own "Spec mode"! Important: it is strongly recommended that you do not use this feature in battles other than parkour or private photo shoots, as you risk getting punished for sabotage due to inactivity. You only need to follow some simple steps: 1. Enter a battle 2. Drive your tank to a place from where you want to spectate 3. Press Ctrl + Shift + K 4. Type vars.set cam_maxmove 0 5. Press Ctrl + Shift + K or escape 6. Drive your tank away from screen. And after you're done, get back to normal camera by following these steps: 1. Press Ctrl + Shift + K 2. Type vars.set cam_maxmove 5 3. Press Ctrl + Shift + K or escape. To have a view of the map from a high point you need to go to a high place on the map, put your camera in the highest position above your tank using "Q" and then set camera speed to zero using the command. That way you will be able to look up over the map using "E", but the camera won't move down to ground level because of the command. You can also try using other numbers like 0.3 or 1 to have a slow moving camera, that slowly follows your tank. This creates an interesting "Cinematic camera" effect, that would look great in video. And that's it :D A small suggestion for those of you, who want to use this feature in videos: To make the rotation of your camera more smooth you can choose a turret with slow turret rotation speed, such as Railgun or Shaft. If you are recording yourself drive around, then you will find it a lot easier to do if you use Vulcan and constantly shoot while driving. This makes it so that you can turn your tank as much as you want and the gyroscope will prevent your turret from changing direction, meaning that the camera will stay in one place and you can rotate it independent from the hull. For a "fly-by" of a map you need to go to one corner, set the camera speed to zero and then drive your tank to the other corner of the map (which can often be quite difficult). Once you get there, set the camera speed in a range between 0.001 - 0.05 and enjoy a slow ride across the air above the map. April 2016 edit: Now the guide for using this feature has been featured in the video blog! Skip to 4:00 to see it: [PS: This is not against any rule so don't be afraid to try. This is thanks to the camera update. Enjoy]- 254 replies

Railgun is by far the most popular gun in Tanki, as well as the official gun of eSports (Smoky being secondary). It's simply beneficial for developers to release more items with railgun as they will sell better. Although I do agree that all guns should be equally popular.

The anti-hacking software is constantly being updated, but it's impossible to create a system that blocks every single cheating program out there. At the moment if you see a hacker and want to get them punished - record a 5 minute video of them violating rules and post it in the Game Violators section. Closed.

"Spectator mode" :D

Spectator mode for everyone!!!! OK, I discovered the most amazing camera setting we could ever imagine. Enter game. Press Ctrl+Shift+K Type vars.set cam_maxmove 0 Press Enter Enjoy spectator mode ;) For best results in battle go to a high area, put your camera in the highest position above your tank using Q and then put in the command. The results are amazing! Or you can set it to 0.1 or 0.5 and have a camera that slowly follows your tank as you go :) See this topic for more info.

If there is a large gap between upgrades, then it is wise to MU your equipment a bit, but make sure you don't waste too many crystals on it. Unless your equipment is M3, you shouldn't do more than 50% of the Micro Upgrades (i.e. 12/25 steps) because after that the bonus you get from upgrading one step is a lot smaller, while the price is huge. If you have crystals to spare and want to try something new, then you can consider buying a new turret or hull. If you have any more questions like this, ask them in the topic What to buy? Which is better? instead of creating new topics. Closed.

I think it's some sort of shake stabilising tool.

Yes. Paints with Thunder protection also reduce the damage you take from your own shots. In the future if you want to ask a question about the game, please refrain from creating new topics and use the official Questions and Answers topic. Closed.

I haven't seen a single gold on there yet.

Tanki Online reserves the right to delete any account if it has been inactive for 3 years or more. This does not mean that after 3 years your account will definitely be gone - most likely it will stay in the database indefinitely, waiting for you. However if the developers need the account removed for some reason and it has been inactive for 3 years - they could do it. In the future if you want to ask a question about the game, please refrain from creating new topics and use the official Questions and Answers topic. Closed.

Tribute is not that rare. It's an eSports map.

Gold boxes are a random, non-essential part of gameplay. You should enter battles with the aim of winning, while catching gold boxes should be your secondary goal. Your idea won't work because two friends can just enter a battle together and wait for gold boxes to drop every 15 minutes, thus farming crystals. Idea rejected. Closed.
