Bye, gl IRL, and I'm sure you'll be missed. As for MM, people from before the Rebalance still play, and that was way more controversial.

It isn't exactly plagiarism if I wrote it.

"Write for the Tanki Newspaper!" Contest

Does it have to be written specifically for this contest, out can we reuse pieces from the AWS?
  7. To be honest, I'd rather have the catchy enough title than go to the effort of changing a minor error that has literally no effect on the overall review. But sure, I've made some minor edits for ya.

    New Paints in Containers

Improving the game via promised, updates people have been looking forward to, will bring in more people, which will in turn bring in more people. Yes, paints make money in the short run, but they need to focus on the Long as well.

    New Paints in Containers

I'm just saying that we do not need more paints. We could do with Alternativa actually following through with some of the updates they announced but then never went through with.

    New Paints in Containers

Yes, but why do we need artists? If they have enough time to design more new paints, sack 'em and hire new programmers.

    New Paints in Containers

There are 212 paints in the game already. Why do you need to add 12 more Why not focus on one of: M0/M3 alterations The Client F5 refresh that was "temporarily removed" 18 months ago Overdrives Finishing the in game clan system Balancing the game - even the CM says magnum is unbalanced, why will the devs not listen... The hovercraft hull from the I&S section that has been "planned" since 2014 Those are just confirmed updates. Things we have been promised, but denied. Instead we got the mission update, the frankly broken single server list, unified servers, and more hasty, trashy updates on your blind charge for MM, with just the odd money grabbing thing chucked in on the side.
  13. Corrected, thanks. Also, no need to be quite so passive aggressive please.
  14. Fair enough, I always remember him as son of Zeus... Mandela effect, I guess. As for the rest, artistic license. It doesn't effect the actual subject matter of the review in any way.
  15. Got it, will try to improve there in future. Also, can you please change the title to "Deconstructed", rather than "decontructed"
  16. Did you have any opinions on the context? Too much, not enough, etc.?

    Prometheus: Demigod Deconstructed

Creds to Magenta for the smexy pic Tankers, today, I bring you an M3 kit review. Prometheus. The Ancient Greek deity who stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. This kit is the living embodiment of that titan, coming down from the heaven to rain fire upon thine enemies! THE BASICS Whadya get for the wad of big dolla dolla mound of crystals? Turret: Firebird M3 Hull: Hunter M3 Paint: Zeus Module: Badger T-F Price: 427,860 (60% discount on individual items) FIREBIRD Can't take the heat? Then get outta the kitchen. Trial by Fire. It's lit. Pick yer poison pun Certainly one of the strongest M2s, the M3 version of this turret is quite deadly. A short range marvel, and one of the original turrets in the game - the second to unlock before the rebalance, it has retained its killing power through the years, even if it has lost its original distinctive blue flame. Very strong at close range, which makes it a fantastic turret for anything where the enemy is in close quarters, or bunched together. Good for DM, and CP, and very strong in Polygon CP. When paired with a light or medium hull, it can also be used in a fantastic "hit-and-run" technique for flag grabbing, melting defenders before speeding out. Pros: Damage-over-time effect (burn) AoE damage means you can easily hit multiple enemies at once High Damage Per Second (DPS) Quick Rotation Speed Cons: Ineffective at anything but short range 'Cooldown' reload means you often have to hide to reload Protections - how common protection modules are against firebird - N.B. this is my experience, and can vary from battle to battle; map to map; etc. Low (5 - 15): uncommon Medium (15-35): very common High (35+): uncommon Overall Rating: 9/10 HUNTER Being the default hull for beginners, it is a good medium hull, striking a solid balance between speed and hit points. It is the cheapest M3 hull, clocking in at only 200,000 crystals, yet despite the low cost, it is considerably less popular than its shorter counterpart Viking. Arguably one of the worst looking hulls, it still manages to counter this with its weight and power, which dwarf that of Viking. It really is a medium hull in all senses of the word apart from looks. Average speed, average hp, average height, yet a misshapen, awkward look leaves it confined to dust. Perhaps kits like Prometheus and Vandal can change that. Although hull-specific Overdrives haven't been released yet, they are worth noting. Hunter's overdrive will - in theory - act as a sort of EMP, deactivating all enemy supplies nearby. Sounds very strong at high ranks where basically everything is a drug war, but perhaps less useful at lower ranks. It certainly sounds better than Viking's OD (increased firing rate), and may actually inspire people with a reason to buy Hunter over Viking. Pros: Solid HP and speed Taller than most hulls - bonus for Golds Very stable Good pushing power also helps with Golds Our very own Yiper/Jason/Savage/Coldplay/ demonstrating hunter's gold catching abilities. Cons: Not as good looking as Viking (sorry Hunter lovers :P) Slower than Viking Overall Rating: 6.5/10 BADGER T-F Provides 35% protection against: Firebird Twins Freeze The Badger series is designed for close-range to melee combat. It encourages you to get all up in yo enemies' grill get up close and personal with your enemies, dealing high damage whilst easily resisting the attacks thrown at you. Twins and Firebird protections are extremely useful, as they are both very common turrets in the current game balance. Freeze is far, far less common, and the slot could perhaps have been more usefully filled by protection against Ricochet or Magnum. Badger T-F is a near-perfect module for this kit, and was one of the main reasons I went for Prometheus. It provides protection against two of the deadliest turrets out there, and is a dream pairing for Firebird. As a fantastic close range module for a fantastic close range turret, you are just about unstoppable in DMs, Poly CPs, or basically anywhere with close quarters combat. For a more in-depth guide to modules, click here. Overall Rating: 8.5/10 2/3 of the way to being a perfect module. ZEUS Zeus modeled by the majestic Mammoth-Isida M0 The champion of paints, Zeus, is also the third most expensive garage paint in the game - this is what really gives the kit its name. A gorgeous, dark hue that contrasts and perfects the bold rouge of the flames spewing forth from your turret, Zeus allows you to not just annihilate, but to cause mass destruction in style. As for camouflage, who needs it really. Zeus was not designed with camouflage in mind; on the contrary, it was designed to make you stand out in all environments. Camouflage Ratings: Map Type Examples Rating Urban Factory, Future 4/10 Forest Kungur, Forest 5/10 Sand Iran, Desert 2/10 Night Mode Any 9/10 Overall Rating: 11/10 Ok, so the camo sucks, but who cares! Zeus was designed as a fashion statement, bling in the battlefield, revolutionising "standing out". The ideal paint for those who think Golden Star is "too flashy", and don't have the premium for Frost. And let's face it, this kit is basically Zeus paint at a discount, with some other free stuff thrown in too... ALTERATIONS High Pressure Pump Increases max damage range by 100% Decreases cone angle by 70% Can't say I've used it, or ever actually seen it used. Seems like it might make Firebird better at medium range, but since the kit is designed for getting up close and personal, it would seem a bit useless. Buy it or don't, purely a matter of opinion. Compact Tanks Increases ammo consumption by 50% Increases max temperature by 150% Increases rate of heating by 100% This one I do have, and I absolutely recommend it. It hugely boosts the DPS, and astonishingly increases the burning rate. A single burst of flame leaves your opponent with 5-10 seconds burning. Absolutely devastating. In a 1v1 between a Hunter without the alteration and a hornet with, the alteration completely counters the bonus from the extra HP. Very good for FWH, DM, or any mode where you have short lifespan to deal as much damage as possible. Burn baby burn - added burning time means this damage through walls is common... CONCLUSION Prometheus. The only M3 Firebird kit; one of three kits with Zeus. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Bringing (almost) unlimited destruction and chaos wherever you go, it is an undeniably OP kit. It is possibly the perfect combination for Poly CP, and provides a very worthy adversary in most other matches. I've always been a fan of in-n-out dashes with a light hull, trying my best to sneak in when the enemy isn't looking, and the Firebird M3, combined with my Hornet M3 from the Legend kit (another review coming soon ^_^ ) provides for some fantastic entry and exit frags whilst nabbing the flag on the way through. All round an excellent kit, though I would recommend buying a light hull and maybe a more long range module with it - Legend/Touché kits fit this bill perfectly, and is the combo I went for. Gallery of Games: Final Rating: 9.5/10 Combine my favourite paint with one of my favourite turrets, a great module, and a decent hull? Of course it's gonna get a good score. :P That is all, I hope you enjoyed and/or found this helpful, and I shall be back soon with another kit review! And now, @kaisdf out.
