Aw, I didn't get a PM from him :(
-
It seems he meant to say that he wishes to be self-employed, and was thus referring to the potential flexibility such a career would offer him.
-
Sad to see you go :( Good luck with RL. Le forum is dying...

Though it is likely you may change your mind later on (as will pretty much everyone who wrote 'Tanki Developer'), I'd definitely support you if you were to actually go on to follow that career path :P
-
See you, though I hope you check the forums once in a while (even if they are a little dead now)... :(

Useless post. And yes, I do miss old Tanki (meaning old physics, old graphics, pre-rebalance). I'm sure a lot of older players do, too... But times change, and the game has changed; some changes having been good, others bad, but that's how the game will move forward in the end.

Hmm, I personally think it'd be an interesting feature to have back.

Very interesting point, actually ^_^

Good work ^_^

This is really, really excellent - an outstanding idea, executed incredibly well. Watched it from start to finish - Arch, I salute what you're doing for the community. Can't wait for the next one :P

I suggest that those that have a problem with controlling their lighter hulls should create an empty battle in a large-ish map, and practice maneouvering their way around. If this is done repeatedly, one will be able to get the hang of the increased speed, and will be able to see that it's actually a huge advantage rather than a hindrance.

About 4 or 5 one week bans on this account ^_^

Excellently phrased - this is a conclusion which I myself have found to be quite valid. It's great for me, because most players at my rank aren't so skilled yet - so whilst the members of the enemy team stumble over one another, the more skilled players can now nip in and take flags with ease. In fact, quite a few Railguns are now playing quite badly, from what I've seen - especially those more suited to camping. Railgun is now loads more effective as a hit-and-run weapon, and users of the weapon will either have to adapt their playing style, or give it up. Also, short-range weapons have gained a lot from this update, in general. There is now a lot more focus on actually manoeuvering one's tank; before, players often discussed various weapon tactics. I wouldn't be surprised if now, players start to focus more on their hulls, and how they actually drive/control them. Good news for me, because manoeuvering lighter hulls is a skill I have always tried to hone where possible. In particular, my past experience of the fast-paced, low-gravity 300 Astronauts battle, and the times when I've played with Wasp M3 on test, have come in handy with getting accustomed to the increased speed of these new physics ^_^

Awesome - really looking forward to reading these and having a good laugh, when they're done ^_^

To be fair, I have yet to try out my own Freeze M2 - it's just that all the Freezes I've played with thus far seem to be pretty weak. I can literally manoeuvre around and past them now with very little damage/freezing sustained. This is probably because it takes longer for the freeze effect to kick in now, and many players haven't really got used to the increased speed of the game yet; this means that most Freeze users I've played with so far are very easy to confuse and outrange.

Just checked out the new physics... and personally, I'm liking the increased speed. Hornet is great to drive now, and Hornet/Rail is now a very deadly hit-and-run combo indeed. On the other hand, Freeze, it seems, has been over-nerfed. Though Isida M2 has been effectively changed from an OP weapon to a balanced one. Overall, I'm positive about these changes, and I can't wait to investigate other combinations, and see how they are now ^_^

I personally very rarely swear, but loads of my friends do so all the time in passing conversation... So I guess the answer to your second question would be yes (for the younger generation). In any case, they're just words - it is the idea contructed by society that they are somehow 'taboo' which is what has given them their reputation.

What is the worst possible situation when you're battling?

WHY DON'T YO Why don't you stop using all-caps? -
Haha Mammoth users - next time, don't buy a hull just because it's OP :P Anyway, the changes to Shaft seem interesting, and the stats make it look a lot more like Rail now... so is Shaft the new Rail, or does Rail still hold its own in the battlefield? Better go and find out ^_^

I suppose I respect Russian people, mainly for their contribution to classical music, opera especially.
