The point of having multiple photos is it's much harder to fake something, thus 'originality' is referring to the fact you physically made it and didn't just steal it off someone else. TO is not trying to deliberately con anyone, it was simply people unfortunately misinterpreting a line. Yes, it could have been written more explicitly. PM Cedric about that if you wish to complain. I am not privy to the discussions of developers who are 1000s of miles away. My opinion on the results has nothing to do with people misinterpreting a line, or being unable to accept they did not get a prize. JSYK, I've entered previous contests, and have a lot of experience running them as part of the newspaper.

I'm sorry to hear that, a lot of people put a lot of work into entering this contest. It did not say the part in orange, it seems you have unfortunately believed the rumour (going around Facebook I believe) stemming from the misinterpretation of that line.

Because that is what they decided. Why they decided that I do not know. I am not saying that. I am saying that I do not think it is important to be part of the discussion I am having. If I wanted to, I can post that I do or do not agree with the results, but that would just be my subjective judging of the pictures in this topic, which has no bearing on the actual results themselves. Do not accuse me of being complicit in trying to mislead players. I read that line for the first time this evening, as I paid no attention to the contest until now as I had no interest in entering.

I shall repeat myself again. I have not said whether I think the judging was correct or not. And regarding the mine contest, the closing date is the 15th April, today is only the 8th April. So it is still going, and results will be in the next issue, like all contests. I do not blindly defend it, its just you don't see my ranting and raving as it wouldn't be appropriate to do it in public. It's a case of people unfortunately misinterpreting that line.

Like I said, that phrase is used to mean consolation prizes. It's the same in the newspaper contests I run, there are many good entries that I would love to give a prize to, but I cannot and I have to pick a top 3. It's the same here. Don't take it completely literally. Yes, having had a lot of experience, I find it amusing that people still cannot get this concept: "they are not judging and the judging is subjective, not objective." If players views did not matter to me, I wouldn't be spending my evening (when I could be doing other things) having a discussion in this topic. Again, I have not said whether I think the judging is fair or correct. And I'm my own boss, I'm not following anyone's orders.
