Both are good and I recommend getting both of them. Hornet is good because you can use hit and run tactic easier and because of its speed, it is easier to get to camp spots. With Viking, you have more stability and with a good paint, you can survive multiple Rail shots.

I hate when Gold Box drops in Silence because you can only control one spot at a time. In Polygon, no matter where the Gold drops, everyone can see it and can get to it.

You can get M1 Rail and M1 Hornet easily if you spend and save wisely. Don't buy paints until you get a good combo (unless it's on sale). Also, don't buy weapons you don't want/need. You can get all M0 turrets/hulls no problem, but at M1, you cannot get all M1 because you will fall behind everyone else.

If you want Rail, I recommend this: (if you are not a buyer) Save for M1 Smoky and M1 Mammoth. Together they cost around 14K, very cheap. At that point, you could be around WO2 maybe. Then, save for Rail, and you should be able to get 30K for it at around WO5 maybe? Edit: Or, if you don't want to get M1 Smoky, you could try using M0 Thunder, but it might be hard to do well in battles.

Get M1 Smoky. Then, get M1 Mammoth, which is cheap. Then, save, or buy other items. Also, if you want, you can get a paint during the sale.

I have Tundra, and I think it looks nice. 30% Rail protection is good, but I got it at full price, but it's not worth the 35K. If you want Rail protection, you can go for it, as it is much cheaper. Not sure if you have M2 Hornet, but if you use it with M1 Hornet or M1 Viking, here are some protection stats: M1 Rail against M1 Hornet will leave you with about 25-30% health. M1 Rail against M1 Viking will leave you with about 45-55% health. M2 Rail against M1 Hornet will leave you with about 10-15% health. M2 Rail against M1 Viking will leave you with about 40% health. With M1 Viking, I would say there is about a 40% chance you can survive two M2 Rail shots.

Don't get Shaft, I was in a similar situation and I bought it because my server connection was lagging like mad and I started raging, so I randomly bought Shaft. It is decent and pretty fun to use, but it isn't a good primary weapon. Stick with Rail, and you'll be happier with the extra 17K.

Shaft M1 are you high? It is good, but you already have Rail. And Shaft won't last, either.
