No Rail/Viking is best. You can survive Shaft shots and two Rail shots with paint.

I thought Thunder was weak after M1

Get Hornet so you can use it with Firebird, and Isida + Freeze if you plan to buy them in the future. Smoky is good in the early WO ranks, but it gets weaker into the Lieutenant ranks. Use Firebird for now, and just save for a better M1 weapon (Rail, Thunder, Twins).

Minimum rank is WO4 (four squares).

I have Tundra, and although I like the looks of it, Forester will do pretty much the same thing. With M1 Viking + Forester, you can still survive 2 M1 Rails. The 10% Smoky does help though, but if you play a lot of DM, get Cedar.

So I made this topic to see how many people buy crystals. It seems to me a lot of people I play against have expensive paints and turret/hull modifications, and sometimes I find it hard to compete with them. I bought crystals last week, but it will be a very long time until I buy crystals again (since I do not have a convenient way of buying them). Sometimes in battles I see First Lieutenants in a M2 combo with a 40K+ paint, like Rail/Hornet, while other times in the forum I see Majors posting screenshots of themselves in M1/M1 combos with Forester paint. Then, I will automatically think that the players with early M2 combos are buyers, and usually that could be the case. So, what do you guys think about this? I'm not saying that buying crystals is a cheap way of getting them, but I just want to know your opinions.

Garage: (M1) Smoky, Firebird, Isida, Rail, Hornet, Mammoth Crystals: 8K I only have M1 Hornet and M1 Mammoth, so I'm thinking of getting a medium-heavy hull. Right now, I mostly use Rail/Hornet, and I like to play mostly Polygon DM. I know Dictator is faster and has a higher turning speed than Viking, but I'm not sure if it works will with Rail. I'm going to buy crystals once I get a DCC, and that will leave me with around 50K total. I'm also trying to save so I can get a M2 early (M2 Hornet and M2 Rail).
