Here is an interesting video This was a top comment: And that's a key point that people just can't understand so they dismiss the whole subject. Because they can't see a lizard turn into a monkey in their lifetime, evolution can't be true. Doubters really need to understand what evolution actually is before coming out with the, Why are there still Apes, type of questions. Now I know why some people dance around the room shaking when a spider crawls on them!

I wasn't always an atheist.

Then one day someone close to you will pass away and you take some comfort in knowing they've gone to a good place and one day, you'll be reunited after all, right? Until the day comes when you break your programming and realise the inevitable which is there is no afterlife. You'll feel robbed and cheated that you didn't mourn that person properly. Yes, I'm speaking from experience.

The majority of creationists and virtually all evolution supporters will tell you the same thing. Don't ask me to prove it for you. Look it up yourself. This is not hard to verify when both sides are in general agreement. I believe there is no God. I believe that we don't have a special purpose in the universe but that's not to say we can't make our lives meaningful and purposeful once we're here. Life is about a bunch of self replicating chemicals/molecules that got complex. Watch the 3 videos I posted on this page. They're made easy and simple to follow and they've stood up to criticism by both sides of the argument. You forgot to add, "then all there is is two dates, a beginning of your life and an end. Nothing else really for all the good deeds they've done" Yes, that pretty much sums it up. There are those who believe life on Earth could have arose from life on Mars (making us all Martians). I read about that. Dawkins has criticised Nye for agreeing to give a spotlight to the creationist cause. No matter how much proof you give, no matter how much evidence there is, people such as Ham will always say a God did it so prove me wrong. Bang your head against the wall time.

Human Evolution Made Easy
-
Ah, so you accept evolution but you were just playing devil's advocate. But for the last time, evolution doesn't explain the origins of life. I'm glad you asked. Here is another one one of Potholer's videos, "The Origin of Life Made Easy" - Where did dna appear? How did living matter come from non-living sludge? Watch the video. Listen closely to his closing remarks before replying and ask yourself, is he talking about you! First off, the Earth wasn't placed anywhere. The number of stars and planets in the universe is vast. The question is, what are the chances of a planet forming in the habitable zone of the right kind of star. Actually, matter on the microscopic level is not orderly at all. Go watch a video on the double-slit experiment. There are reasons to why the Earth rotates in a number of hours. Just less than 24 of them to be precise. If you don't know the answer to these questions. Look them up. The answers are there without the need to invoke a creator. Again, watch the video. I've no idea how many colours the human eye can distinguish. But evolution can explain how it formed. Our eyes are rubbish when compared to an owl or a hawk. Go look it up instead of saying God did it. Go on, say how you really feel. You want the answers to the universe from me in a topic on a tanki forum? Potholer has a few videos on this. The history of the universe made easy - 2 parts. That would be evolution. I only had a short time to answer because I have to go to work so forgive me for short answers. If you think it is co-incidence and God made it all and God existed always and forever everywhere making everything just so then that's fine with me. Just don't affect others with your belief.

These two videos address what you have wrote here and demonstrate why you are wrong in thinking what you think. When you have watched them, go research for yourself to make sure Peter Hadfield (potholer54) is not lying. Then come back a convert and start preaching to the others that natural selection and evolution are proven facts.

Could you switch to Sunday's or a any non work/school day in future please. It would give me for one a chance to rank up and take advantage of the discount. or In the same way you have to buy a Multiplier Pass or a Pro Battle Pass which lasts for a set time, couldn't you change the format to buying a 50% off voucher that also lasts for a set time. eg, set the price of the voucher at 100 crystals you have one day to buy the voucher set the validity duration to a 2/3/4 days/weeks

They can explain how the universe came about (up to a point - pardon the pun) but you're hardly being fair because the big bang theory is not a "mere assumption" it's scientific theory. Theory is a word some use to try and trick others into believing that it's merely and idea with no actual merit or substance behind it. Using the word, "theory", in that way is a deception derived from ignorance or dishonesty - which are you? What's your definition of the word? Scientific Theory "A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on knowledge that has been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experimentation." source Assumption "Something taken for granted or accepted as true without proof; a supposition" If you want conclusive proof then I'm afraid we've not built a - time, (that can go back before time itself), machine! And if you constantly invoke a God every time there is something science can't explain yet, beware and prepare to get the rug pulled from under your feet.

Mines are extremely valuable when you don't have many. When you buy the supply bundles, you can't rid of the annoying things fast enough!

I've managed to recreate it in a private battle with just me in it. What was interesting was the invisible mine exploded when I self destructed. http://youtu.be/_BGHo50toTk
-
See if anyone else has had this before closing. I've had it in silence2 too. Not sure what Texture lag is but normal lag wasn't apparent at the time. I've just wasted half a dozen mines trying to recreate it but couldn't.

This topic is about evolution. I didn't read any of the article. Instead I searched for evolution and this came up... Quote from article: "Scientists once believed that whatever the initial conditions of the universe, eventually intelligent life might evolve... The existence of intelligent life depends upon a conspiracy of initial conditions which must be fine-tuned to a degree that is literally incomprehensible and incalculable" And that shows the trickery and dishonesty of this article. Why lie or misrepresent the position of Science? I didn't read any more. I want truth and facts, not deception.

Mine Bug - mine falls through cracks on ramps
AbsoluteZero replied to AbsoluteZero in Mine Bug - mine falls through cracks on ramps Archive
I have had this a couple of times but I've managed to capture it on video this time. Occasionally, if you happen to put a mine down exactly on the part of the ramp where individual ramp segments are joined, they will fall right through to underneath. http://youtu.be/NRldBD8RQ-M -
I didn't say that. You have omitted one word to build your strawman. Actually, I actively support the Palestinian cause. I have attended rallies and marched in a number of cities in the UK for that and other causes and campaigns too, regularly writing to the MP's and the media. I suppose none of that counts in your opinion. Just because I'm an atheist and support evolution, doesn't mean I can't denounce human suffering when I see. I'm not cold and heartless. I know precisely why I live. I live because of my parents. My parents because of their parents and so on...

What gives meaning to my life is irrelevant. I answered the other question with some additional stuff thrown in for good measure.
-
There are no wrong answers to that question no matter where you ask it. So it's not a question of "who is right?". Evolution exists. Life has no meaning until the life injects some meaning to it. It's pretty arrogant to think that we have some special purpose in the universe. The human race is not that important in the grand scheme of things. There is almost certainly many more civilisations, if not in our galaxy then in the other billions of galaxies around our universe, that could be far more advanced than we are. I just live one day at a time within the system I find myself in. Any life is no different, whether it's an elephant or an aids virus. I don't think I'm special. I just want to keep my mind occupied until I die, learning more about the world as I go. When I'm dead - I'm dead. The atoms that once formed by body will disperse and eventually will form part of other people and animals, just as they did before me.
-
Just because we are brought into this world with no meaning, doesn't mean we can't make it meaningful once we are here. Please can you give me a list of the, "so called scientists who dont even have a clue on why they are living".
-
Some people won't listen and won't believe no matter how much proof there is. We already have indisputable proof. Wanted: Mars Colonists Wanted to Explore Red Planet You mean in 9 years time :o Devs should get working on the Mars Map now! Mars - The Roman God of War!

It's gobsmackingly shocking that anybody could think this, let alone agree with it. Monkeys are constantly evolving one generation at a time. There is no reason not believe that they couldn't evolve into something similar to modern day humans, given the right set of circumstances and enough time that is. But we never evolved from monkeys because monkeys are monkeys and that's why there are STILL monkeys (currently)! We did share a common PRIMATE ancestor though which has long been extinct. For something like a monkey to evolve, you really need something to happen first in order for the population to adapt and change to meet the new circumstances. A change in the environment perhaps. Some monkeys will be better suited to the new environment and they will be stronger and fitter than those who are less suited to the change and so get the benefits of passing along their genes. Gradual changes/improvements over tens of thousands of generations. A time frame that many of us cannot comprehend. Et voilà! Something that looks totally different and better adapted to it's surroundings than when it first started out.

The minute I was born, did I have a purpose and who decided that purpose? I'm talking about my raison d'etre, my reason for being here, not how I will interact with society once I'm able. Maybe there is a little confusion by what we all mean by purpose.
-
They will offer answers maybe which will no doubt be of comfort to many. You were careful enough not to suggest those answers were true though. I agree with that to a point. My mother is a Christian and although I toy with her from time to time on the subject of evolution/theism, I stop well short of demolishing her arguments because she is content and comforted by those beliefs. On the point of purpose, as far as I can tell, we don't have a purpose other than to deal with the hand you're dealt.

Ranking up by capturing the flag ----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H-Tf3PawD0

The place to live is North West Europe and Japan according to this survey by Jon Miller, et al./Science 2006 While I accept a person's right to their own opinion, I do think it's a sad and sorry state of affairs, especially in this day and age. To me at least, it demonstrates that many are still living in the dark-ages, clinging defiantly to the literal word of whatever holy book they read, despite the mountains of proof that is now assembled. Next, somebody will be saying the world is only 6000 years old!
