Contest — 7 Magnums to give away and lots of prizes
Lightning78 replied to theFiringHand in Contests Archive
The link they posted still had day 2 selected in the google spreadsheet. You need to change selection to day 3 (at the bottom, see screen above in the post of ). This got me confused as well, was first thinking they had missed me.. -
In total 8.2 Million crystals earned so far on this account, including those earned in battle, through missions, referrals and contests (none bought though). As I bought all my equipment in sales (all in all taking advantage of an average reduction of 44%), the actual worth of this account would be a few millions higher.. :P

Full list updated in opening post. 90 players are now in the list ( added). Comparing the status to the last full update 1 week ago on 12/03/2017: - 1 entry is new - 3 had a rankup (i.e. large increase of rating value) - 16 didn't play, i.e. no change in rating value - 8 had an increase of their rating value (in average by +13.3, thanks to the significant rating increases of @Surprises and @Oufa) - 62 had a decrease of their rating value (in average by -14.3) Changes in rating position: not counting those with a rank up or new entries, 7 players improved their rating position, while 79 lost positions. The picture is pretty clear now and this topic has served its purpose. I'll keep the list up to date on a weekly basis provided there's sufficient interest (but I won't keep the topic alive artificially :P).

Full list updated in opening post with stats as of this morning. 89 players are now in the list. Comparing the status to the last full update 1 week ago on 05/03/2017: - 2 entries are new - 4 had a rankup (i.e. large increase of rating value) - 13 didn't play, i.e. no change in rating value - 8 had an increase of their rating value (in average by +9.8) - 62 had a decrease of their rating value (in average by -16.0) Changes in rating position: not counting those with a rank up or new entries, 3 players improved their rating position, while 80 lost positions. All rankups of the players in the list so far were below Legend. In the cases I listed, the rankup indeed led to a large increase in rating value. Thanks to your rankup, now we know that once on Legend rank, ranking up further doesn't play a role for the rating..
-
Pretty much everybody is experiencing the same, see my post above. It seems that Cry/Ep ratio plays an important role for the rating. Since crystals from missions or goldboxes are not counted anymore for the amount of crystals earned, virtually nobody is able to maintain their previous Cry/EP ratio => rating drops. Unless there's a change, this will go on for many months to come. Only players new to the game won't have this sensation of their rating dropping continuously.. Edit: what has also changed is that crystals earned with Premium are counted. This gives a 33% boost to the Cry/EP ratio. Your Cry/EP ratio is 1.41. Using Premium and winning virtually every battle, you could get close to that, but it's impossible to maintain that ratio without Premium..

Full list updated in opening post. 87 players are now in the list. Comparing the status to the last full update 1 week ago on 26/02/2017: - 3 entries are new - 5 had a rankup (i.e. large increase of rating value) - 8 didn't play, i.e. no change in rating value - 10 had an increase of their rating value (in average by +7.1) - 61 had a decrease of their rating value (in average by -13.9) Changes in rating position: not counting those with a rank up or new entries, 3 players improved their rating position, while 76 lost positions. Yeah I think you're right. When Cortana ranked up from Gismo to Legend some weeks ago, his rating increased only by 382, see this post. For rank up as Legend, I don't have an example. My guess would be it's the same if not less as a rankup from Gismo to Legend.
-
No problem, will take you out. Agree the rating is biased towards buyers and not terribly meaningful. You're in good company if you're unable to raise your rating, last week virtually everybody was dropping. You'd have to play at least close to your Cry/Ep of 1.77 to increase it. For this, you'd need Premium + play very well (win every battle) + get some help from friends.. Below the weekly stats of a few players in the list who ranked up. So I guess your rating value will go up by around 2500 to 2800..

Sure, no problem. Intend to update it on Sunday..

valid Make Striker's laser different from Shaft's
Lightning78 replied to Mario3108 in Ideas and Suggestions
Don't see a need to distinguish between a shaft and a striker laser. It should be part of the game to know (or learn the hard way) who you're facing. And anyway, as mentioned the lasers move quite differently. -
Full list updated in opening post. 87 players are now in the list (@Protoshot added). Comparing the status of the other 86 players to the last full update 1 week ago on 19/02/2017: - 3 had a rankup (i.e. large increase of rating value) - 9 didn't play, i.e. no change in rating value - 9 had an increase of their rating value (in average by +5.5) - 65 (!) had a decrease of their rating value (in average by -19.4) When looking at rating position instead of rating value, it's even more extreme: except for 2 players who had a rank up, everybody lost rating positions, even those with a slight increase in rating value. Very motivating rating system, it really inspires players to play better.. :P
-
Maybe I was exaggerating a bit, but there was nothing wrong with what I said. While even for Premium buyers the rating value might go down (depending on what their Cry/Ep ratio was before they stopped counting goldboxes and missions for the total crystals earned), they'll improve their rating position relative to the average player without Premium account, because Premium gives you a 33% boost on the Cry/Ep ratio. Without Premium, your Cry/Ep ratio this week would only be at 1.03 instead of 1.37..
-
Thanks for posting your daily stats.. :) Even when winning all battles, you'll never reach the Cry/EP ratio you used to have, back when missions and goldboxes counted. I think the problem of the current rating system is that pretty much everybody is dropping despite playing just as well as before, while Premium buyers go up / maintain their rating. Not something that helps the credibility of this system. Not so long ago, Tanki stated: "All I can tell you is that you should play better to get a higher rating. And that you can actually lower your rating even if you win. This happens if your playing is below your usual level, irrespective of whether you win or lose." Right... :D

Full list updated in opening post. 86 players are now in the list, 9 of which are new. Comparing the status of the other 77 players to the last full update 1 week ago on 12/02/2017: - 2 had a rankup (i.e. large increase of rating value) - 9 had an increase of their rating value (in average by +8) - 6 had no change in rating value (2 of these didn't play at all) - 60 (!) had a decrease of their rating value (in average by -16) The list also includes the amount of EP earned, and how much EP it took to have a change of rating value by +/-1 (for those not having had a rank up). Stats of me playing this morning: EP gained 1111 K/D 83:8 = 10.38 Crystals from battles 1363 (=> Cry/EP ratio 1.23) Crystals from missions 3500 Crystals from Goldboxes 2000 Crystals earned in total 6863 (=> Cry/EP ratio 6.17) Suprise, surprise, my rating went down. Oh well, I can live with that - suppose the only way to "play better" would be to buy a Premium pass.. :D Intend to update the complete list today and show some stats on how everybody's rating has evolved..
-
Player Dont_Panic added. The "raw data" of the ranking list is now added in a spoiler in the opening post, for those wanting to do some number crunching on it.. :P
-
Added. Sorry, missed your first post. What you say is true for the number visible in your experience bar (what I call "Rating value"), however in Tanki there's also the absolute position (I call this "Rating position") obtainable from the profile page. So what I said is correct. For you, rating value is 64901, which gets you to position #117749.. "efficiency":{"position":117749,"value":6490135}} EDIT: I think I understand now what caused the confusion. RIDDLER_8 had a rating value of 90617, which when I checked resulted in a rating position of #9617 (just a 0 difference).. :P
-
Well with this rating value you're at position 9617 of all Tanki players, but nobody will be able to tell you whether this is "good". Also depends on what matters to you when playing Tanki - some excellent players don't rank high when it comes to this rating, which is not a pure measure of your level of skill. Just read the discussion in this topic..

Opening post updated, adding 1 player. There's a new section with some graphs on the correlation between rating value and some other stats, pasted here below as well. I've already added you yesterday. Added. (2) Some stats on the above list: See this post of @Sergeant808 for some analysis on the correlation between rating value and various factors. Here's some graphs illustrating the correlation: Rating value vs Experience Points: for high ranks no correlation visible, but for low ranks it's almost linear => when below Legend rank, your rank / EP seems the main driver for your rating. Rating value vs Cry/EP ratio: for players in the list with ratings > 87'000 (all in the Legend rank), there is a clear correlation. Rating value vs K/D ratio: seems all over the place.. :P
-
I'm only counting the EP earned after introduction of the ratings pages, as there's no information on playing time before that. So for players who made a significant portion of their EP before that, this might not be fully accurate (e.g. I was already a Gismo when profile pages were introduced, so probably my career average would be a bit lower). In any case, to me it looks like EP/h doesn't impact the rating..

Ranking list in opening post fully updated 12 Feb 2016, 22:00 CET: - Additional stat added in ranking list: EP earned per hour - Here's the changes in rating position and rating value since previous full update 2 days ago. Virtually everybody is getting worse :P @tobias.tichy had a rankup, which is why his rating value increased Players added:
-
That's only true when comparing to other possible rating systems. K/D is not a key factor for the current rating formula, but that is already reflected in the current ranking. My point still stands - no reason for "efficient" players to play less for not being overtaken by "hard working" players, as you call them..
-
That would benefit heavy supply users. Looking at the ranking list, I don't see hints of that. You will find both people drugging a lot and those drugging little in similar places. But I will try this next time I do a full update of the list.. It could also be that such a "penalty" for high K/D is only done for ranks below Legend. Hard to tell, since currently there is no Legend player in the list with a very high K/D. However, when comparing my rating with that of others in the top third of the list, it seems that my comparably high K/D helps getting a better rating. So if there's a limit above which K/D is bad, it's higher than that.. Your Cry/EP ratio is very high, so I guess it must be going down continuously (I think it was at 2.81 when you joined the list, yesterday it was 2.79). Your decreasing rating may be caused by this rather than good K/D..
-
Update of ranking list: added new players @Surprises at position 2 and @StormChaser, re-added @austen_pierce No, still don't follow you. Players towards the top of list have a good rating because of what they've done in the past. If they continue playing in a similar way they will stay up there, unless there is a change which specifically affects their "success" as per the rating criteria. So a change of removing crystals from missions won't affect that, as everybody is impacted in the same way, while a change of counting crystals from Premium bonus has the potential to impact this.. I've already explained why rank is not there - it's represented through EP. If you'd asked politely, I might have considered adding it, but you won't get me to do what you want using this tone..
