In the below cases, I confess to having camped for the full battle, Doing it properly, on Barda one can even support the attackers in the enemy base. I'm so confused: why was this harmful for the team?
-
Sure, if he's drugging like mad and his opponents are not skilled, or if he's embedded in a great team and can just camp far away from the action. Facing any decent opposition, Mammoth+Rail has no chance, because damage/time output of rail is low and he can't hide during the reload. Rotation speed of rail is so low, opponents can drive circles around the guy. Hopeless combo..
-
Yeah not good, but there are some maps where this combo can work (island..). I think Mammoth + Rail (or Titan + Rail) is worse. I cringe every time I see this - hopeless on any map, for any battle format..

Well I don't know how it is at your rank, but at the highest rank Striker is definitely not OP. Part of it may be due to the inexperience of the players, but I see many Striker players looking lost. As with all turrets, good players can do well with it (I've seen a few over the past few days). To me as Rail player, Striker users are rather vulnerable and not much of a threat, similar to Vulcan (typically combined with a heavy hull, a sitting duck out in the open). I haven't played with Striker myself, but I noticed it seems to take a long time for them to aim when not in Arcade mode. Shaft seems to be way quicker and hence more dangerous in that mode. But again, this may be due to the lack of experience of players with Striker..

I haven't bought shell stabilisation, but I don't think it brings a lot. I like having a lucky shot. High-caliber ammo on the other hand is very strong in my opinion..

My feedback on Rail high-caliber ammo alteration (more damage, slower reload): Having played with it in a few standard battles, it confirms the impression I had when there was the radical balance change to Rail back in Oct: with this alteration, Rail is much stronger. It's more or less back to what it was before. Don't get misled by the average damage per minute being the same, the additional damage you deal per shot is crucial. A nice effect is that one can score significantly more kills, rather than just assisting in a kill. With the slower reload, more care is required to making each shot count (with the fast reload of Rail, I acquired the bad habit of pulling the trigger too early, i.e. not caring too much if a shot misses). I think without the alteration, Rail is only better in very specific situations, like 1-1 vs an agile Hornet which anyway needs two shots, or possibly in a Rail duel out in the open (when there's any cover, I'd prefer the alteration - more damage is key..). For any seasoned Rail user in normal battles, I recommend buying this alteration, you won't regret it..

To me as a railer, Striker is really nothing to worry about right now, a good Shaft is way more dangerous. Congrats to the Devs for not making a new turrent totally OP (though I doubt this was on purpose, considering how some of the other changes in the game worked out in the past.. :P).

Funny there's a 2 page discussion here on whether mines counts as supplies/drugs or not. They are acquired through the same means as other supplies and are used to temporarily give a boost to one's performance in battle, providing a large advantage over players not using them. Pretty clear, isn't it..

An addition for the lower end of the table, currently at 206'790 ;) http://ratings.tankionline.com/en/user/BrokenWorld/

valid Quickly switch teams in a battle
Lightning78 replied to USMC_Tank_Commander in Ideas and Suggestions
It's disgraceful how you hijack topics to try to make other players look bad. Is this part of the public humiliation I've been threatened with? :P One of the reasons many battles are unbalanced is indeed the huge difference in strength between supply users and those without supplies. But I don't think the idea suggested here will cure this.. -
Time to come clean and confess my first and only chat ban. Must have been 2-3 years ago. Called the opponent team "idiots". Unfortunately a moderator was in that team => think that was a ban for 1 day. Moral of the story: never use "idiots", as that word is (strangely enough) banworthy. Use "noobs" instead. :P

Nominating Mammoth + Smoky: huge hull, tiny turret. "In Love" paint goes well with it.. :P

Actually that's pretty true. Got all equipment I need at m4. So right now I'm only spending crystals on MUing protection modules when there's MU sales. Wouldn't really need that either, and it's very poor value for money at high MU steps, but gotta buy something once every few months... :D
-
Problem is this happens way too often in Tanki's recent history. Updates are poorly thought through and flawed from the get-go. I think this started more or less at the time of introducing early battle termination. Now it works, but anybody remember that disaster back then? First version totally unusable, with super-annoying siren going off all the time LMAO..Now that's more or less the standard quality of updates the players have to deal with..

My highest balance ever - screen taken on 11th Nov 2016, just before the last 50% MU sale: Not a buyer. Currently down at 3.270 Million.. :P

So you remove the ability to create specific battles for players without a PRO pass..? It's fully clear now that the introduction of the "Create Battle" button was just a thinly disguised move to make a PRO pass mandatory for every player. Particularly negative is your crooked / dishonest way of selling this feature to the players (little kids mostly). Anyway, you won't increase the number of players by this move...game will keep going down the drain, unless you start fixing its fundamental problems.

No 40'000 crystals reward received - another botched update..? How about a minimum amount of testing before releasing stuff like that..?

Same seems to have happened to all players today with Halloween missions. Just disappeared.. Another Tanki bug it seems..

UPDATED - Halloween returns for 24 hours on Saturday 5th

Same here, today's Halloween mission disappeared when I was halfway through.... What is going on? -
..but you deal less damage. I have virtually no 1-shot kills anymore with Rail m4, now need at least 2 shots. And medium tanks now require at least 3 shots (used to get most of them with two shots). So you can still get caught while reloading, though for different reasons now. The faster reload may also mean that you don't always have enough time to set up a shot well (e.g. when on the move, not when camping in a safe spot). So to me it has become trickier to use Rail, but still doable. The damage per minute value has stayed exactly the same, but that is anyway only a theoretical figure that means little for real battles..
-
Oh well, guess it was time again for a radical change in equipment to force players to invest in the game for getting back a decent combo. Having played this game for several years, such cheap tactics are getting old.. This time some particularly inconsiderate changes: heavy hulls getting faster and light hulls slower, and a lot of diversity and unique hull characteristics disappeared (why should hulls in the same category have the same protection..?). Turrets: Rail considerably weaker, but can still be effective in the right hands. In particular vs. inexperienced/unskilled players, the higher firing rate can be devastating..
-
Maybe at your rank. Thunder is one of the easier opponents of a railgun. Its firing rate is too slow to affect an experienced railer's aim. A skilled smoky player on the other hand can be very tough to handle with rail..
