    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Well let 's do some maths on your so beloved :P reloading time: Let 's take the Thunder M1: Total reload MU 'd on 100% costs 44.200 crystals ! You have than diminished reload time with a total of 0.09 seconds. This is still not 1/10th of a second. Not that impressive.... From 2.66 seconds you go to 2.66 - 0.09 = 2.57 seconds reload..... In percentage it means 3.4 % more shots. So if a "clean" Thunder shoots 100 times, the fully reload MU 'd Thunder will shoot 103.4 times. What a difference for those mere 44.200 crystals.......   Better save the money and only do the cheap first -0.02 step for 814 crystals! B) Or eventually the first two steps is -0.04 for 5641 crystals ( -0.04: almost 8 times cheaper than a full -0.09...) So I just stick with more rotation speed. No meaningfull maths possible on that one, but to be able to aim your gun fast in front, ór behind you.....well...... ;)

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

The speed is ok: the drifting is more of a "problem" with Hornet. What is nice though is that the Hornet is "slippery", if you bump sideways against something you can still easily move on. The Hornet simply does not get stuck very fast. This compensates a bit the drifting.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Damage is by far the most important MU! This counts for every gun in my opinion. Second MU I personally prefer is more rotation-speed. A better reload time is only really important when you face an opponent with a similar weapon and your shots start just a little fraction faster than his. The fatal and final shot in this case will be yours (if hulls are equal ofcourse). This reload time can be very important for duelling Railgunners though. Micro-Upgraded damage by Thunder means even more splash damage! I really had a lot more of multiple kills in one shot due to this. It is nice to notice that with more experience, you get some sort of idea of how much the different hulls are already damaged. This comes in very handy to decide which tank of a group/cluster to hit first with Thunder 's Splash-damage. When it really works out ( with a little bit of luck too, allright ;) ) you can get four kills in one shot.....the power of Thunder! B) Revilo wrote: "The buff M0 Thunder got with the physics update really helped I think". Very true. The Thunder M0 is not anymore "the gun to skip untill it reaches M1". The pre-NP Thunder was cr.p. But the NP Thunder is certainly not a beginners gun, still best to play Smoky first.

    Let's Discuss Hunter!

I am on the same road. Viking my main hull for almost every task: except for Railgunning when I use the Hornet. And also to get some more practice with the Hornet for future drugfree pro-battle CTF 's! You do not need more than these two tanks.... :)

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

The L/D is ok: all in all not a lot to complain about..... ;) Nice! B)

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

I will. On one account WO5 I play Viking M1 with Thunder M1 (later M2) and also in the nearby future Rico M2. See if The Rico M2 is worth it..... On the other account TL I will play Viking M2  with Thunder M1 (later M2) and also in the future Smoky M2! Played already a lot with Smoky M1: love the gun but the Thunder M1 in my "skillfull hands" ;) is more effective in Polygon! And I have a Hornet - Railgun account......enough??? :D :D :D

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Pfffff....nice long Polygon DM. Thunder really rocks in this map! B) This was "only" a practice round, because I want to be the best I can in the future when I am going to play Viking M1/M2 - Thunder M1 with my two main accounts. :) This was a (non-drugging) fight with Viking M0 - Thunder M0. The Viking M0 is barely MU 'd: not worth it because at WO1 you already have the M1 upgrade. The Thunder damage is well MU 'd, because it is a long way to Thunder M1. The damage is MU 'd to step 17: you can really notice the improvement! Number two was a Hornet-Freeze. Was almost a non-drugger, so nice score! We had quite a few Goldboxes, no luck this time.

    Let's Discuss Viking!

It is a beauty the M2. The best upgrade of the Vikings, also in looks....

    Let's Discuss Hunter!

No, it is not. It is just a small difference, but if you get more skilled, those small differences can become important. What I like is a hull that can do quick short movements in a small area. I use this a lot in Polygon DM. One of the reasons I prefer a higher acceleration. But if you are a CTF player, you might prefer the hull with the highest speed and than the acceleration becomes a much minor issue.

    Let's Discuss Dictator!

"Apparently nobody gets that dictator is much better than Dictator(Viking)": yeah, it is strange, isn't it??? Well if Dictator M1 is "way better" than Viking M1, than tell me why I have really never seen an excellent Dictator M1 player? Most of them would have performed much better in a more regular hull ! The ones I met with my Viking M1 did at least not stand a chance. So please more Dictators, and less Vikings and Titans! ;) Dictator is certainly not meant for every gun. No Ricochet, no Twins. "Except for short range guns": do not agree. Dictator can certainly fight with short-range guns, with those weapons you can finally use some of Dictator's speed!

    Let's Discuss Dictator!

You are one of those players who in my opinion fixate to much on Stats. If you do that, than your absolutely right! Dictator M1 and M3 are better than Viking........ Unfortunately Dictator has some issues: 1. It is Big and it is High, a superb and easy target for any gun! Too make it even worse, if you get close enough to a Dictator (or even better collide with it) it can not even return fire because it shoots overhead... 2. It is unstable: if the stable Viking gets shot by high impact weapons it gets knocked about just a little and it is still easy to return the "favour", not so with Dictator: if you hit it with lets say Ricochet you can render it defenseless. 3. With the new micro-upgrades you can MU the Dictator M3 with an extra 27 HP, the Viking M3 goes to 55 HP extra. Twice as much! 4. Viking M3 unlocks five (longgggg) Ranks earlier than the Dictator M3, which only unlocks at the highest rank, so the "not so impressive" Dictator M2 (Stats ;) ) has a long way ahead of it.... 5. Some say it is like a big Wasp because you can do the same peek-a-boo technique thanks to the turret position: but come on, there is still pretty much tank behind the turret! The beauty of Tanki is that everyone is free to choose, so if you firmly believe in the Stats than go for it: and besides I really like Dictators as my opponents! :P

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

    Google: riff :P

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Because my main accounts are MU 'ing I fight a bit with an old practice account (and also do some Railgunning). Well in this fight I ended fifth, pretty good amongst these high rankers! Just a Viking M0 - Thunder M0, no goldbox in this match: so réally zero drugs...... B) It is all a matter of using the Splash effect the best you can. So for example: never shoot at the hull in front, but at the one behind him. Due to the Splash-damage the one in front gets damaged too.....if your lucky: double kill! :) The number one and two are those "loosers" who use drugs from the beginning till the end. Everyones own choice ofcourse, but I simply can not see the fun of it. Killing your opponents easy like flies and most likely thinking you are the boss......

    getting blind in tanki

At least turn off the Dynamic Lighting! I use ALL the other graphic settings, certainly use anti-aliasing if possible, gives a "smoother" picture for the eye. The Dynamic Lighting looks nice, but all these extra (too bright) flashes could have a bad effect on a person who is sensitive for this.

    Fatal Error: could this work?

Well, I have a normal PC, nothing really fancy and I never had (till now) a fatal error. Also my framerate is always between the 56-60 FPS. I am using Mozilla Firefox as browser, but this browser normally also has, as I read in the Forum, the fatal error. The only thing that is different at my PC is that I use my RAM to run my browser on, and not the standard Harddisk. I will return to this later. Recently I used Fraps (same like Banicam: videorecording software). And my framerate went immediately lower ánd after a while I got tremendous lag as well.... Than I found out that it is better to have a second harddisk where you record the gameplay. You should not run your Operating System like Windows and Recording Software on the same disk. Well to keep it short, I have two disks and when I used one for Windows and the other one for Fraps my framerate was back to normal again and I had no lag at all! What I suspect now with the Fatal Error that it has something to do with two tasks that run at the same time on your PC. One of these tasks has the harddisk involved: the history recording of your webbrowser (cache). If you eliminate this, you eliminate a PC component, so one component less that can make troubles (fatal error?) This was the introduction, underneath this chapter the possible solution. Be aware that I take no responsibility at all if things go wrong! This is sadly not suited for everyone! You got to know a thing or two about PC 's and be a bit technical will help too. My hope is there is someone who has the fatal errors and is willing to try this out. If it works by this person too, we might be getting somewhere! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here we go: First we really need Mozilla Firefox! This browser is accesible because it is Open Source software. Normally a webbrowser uses the harddisk to store the webbrowser history etc., we are going to change that so that the browser Firefox will run only in our RAM memory. RAM is a lot faster, you might notice this a little! The only difference with normal webbrowsing by harddisk is when you are in a session your RAM memory keeps track of your history (the webpages you have been etc.), but because it is "virtual" it all dissappears when you stop your browser. RAM can not store data! So you can not trace back that nice webpage you have been two days ago. I do not mind that because I never used it, and a benefit is that your harddisk (PC) stays a lot cleaner! And cleaner means often faster and less troubles. So when I run a PC-cleaner like CCleaner there is not a lot to throw in the bin, nice. Your browser is further competely the same. You can make bookmarks, favorites and all the normal stuff, because this still gets written on your PC. So if you had put that nice webpage from two days ago on a bookmark, you can still visit it again! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now the technical stuff and the actual steps you have to follow: Step 1Open Firefox and type "about:config" (without quotes here and in subsequent commands) into the browser's address bar. The address bar is where the Web address or URL of the site you're visiting appears. Step 2 Type "browser.cache" into the Search field that appears under the address bar. This will make the browser look for characteristics of its cache settings that can be changed. Step 3 Find the entry entitled "browser.cache.disk.enable" in the main display area of the browser below the Search field and double-click it to change the value to false. Step 4 Double-click on the "browser.cache.memory.enable" setting to change it to true if it isn't already. The hard disk cache is turned off and the memory cache is turned on. Step 5 Right-click anywhere in the screen that displays the cache configuration options. Click "New" from the context menu that appears, and then select "Integer" from the secondary context menu. Step 6 Enter "browser.cache.memory.capacity" in the dialog box that pops up and press the "OK" button to submit it. Step 7 Enter either "128000" or "-1" in the new dialog box that pops up and press "OK." That sets the size of your memory cache; for example, 128000 will allocate 128MB of your computer's memory to act as a cache for the browser. Entering "-1" lets Firefox choose the size of its cache depending on your computer's installed RAM capacity. You can also enter other cache sizes in kilobytes. Step 8 Close every Firefox tab and window to shut the browser down completely, and then double-click the browser's icon to restart it. Hope somebody tries this out and even more so that it is a possible solution.

    Let's Discuss Titan!

If you can spare the 6100 crystals I would definetely go for the Titan M1, you 'll enjoy the extra speed and even more so the much faster acceleration (=power)! B) And all of that with only a small 8 HP less than the Mammoth M1...... :)
  17. Smok-Ti-Thun

    Let's Discuss Mammoth!

Well the Mammoth M1 s.cks, but the Thunder M2 compensates it fully. Certainly in Polygon DM you 'll be fine! Still....Titan M1...... ;) Lately I recorded some gameplay, and when I played the video at fast forwards, I could actually see the Mammoth move!!! :P
  18. Smok-Ti-Thun

    Let's Discuss Hornet!

Viking M1 is the all-rounder with plenty of HP (armour). It can even Catch the Flag itself: but if you are really only into CTF games I would recommend the Hornet M1 because of the speed.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

It is! But sadly it is most likely impossible to keep fighting with it the whole stretch between M1 and the very late appearing Smoky M2. :( Already when the heavy M1 's like Thunder and early M2 's like Freeze start to appear it becomes a lot harder! Let alone the early upgrading M2 hulls you start to encounter..... You have the possibility of MU 'ing the Smoky now and that is good, but I am sure even the fully micro-upgraded M1 will be no match against let say a Thunder M2 or Railgun M2! If you do not really want to struggle all the way and want a somewhat similar weapon it is better to go for Thunder M1 and/or at least M2. So Smoky is the King, but even a King needs a break! ;)

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Beautiful! Payback time! I simply just can't get enough from the sight of exploding Freeze 's! :) It is indeed great to cooperate with a player with the same turret. I really like to team up with another Smoky in Polygon DM. I always call it: "Smoky terror!" :P Even without the criticals it is totally devastating when two Smoky 's fire at the same opponent. The rate of fire already does the trick, let alone the impacts......and yes, a critical once in a while...... :D :D

    Let's Discuss Titan!

Well, the purple paint is the Helper paint which gives 18% protection against all turrets: "a unique paint that protects its owner from all types of weapons. It is only issued to the best helpers of the project. For them Tanki Online is more than just a game." What is it ánd when can I expect my Prize??? :D :D :D
  22. Smok-Ti-Thun

    Let's Discuss Ricochet!

    Than he REALLY didn't get it......multing in a DM..... :D :D :D

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Sad and alone, I will stick with my Cedar..... :P But one thing is sure: you do not wanna encounter team: Total Corrosion! :D :D

    Let's Discuss Mammoth!

Mammoth with Twins in Polygon DM is not OP, but I do believe it might be the best weapon for Mammoth in that Map. With such a slow tank, you need a fast rotating Turret like Twins. Pretty effective to keep short-ranged weapons at a distance, Twins kills all enemies within it 's range pretty quickly and take a long-range weapons paint like the simple Forester for the ones out of reach and go for it! Thunder by the way is a good second option. If you are really into the heavy tanks I suggest you should try Titan, much better now than Mammoth. Finally I am sure you are a born natural......nice one!
