Contest [Issue 31] Design Your Own Tank!

He copied GeneralPie. -

I'm surprised at how effective M1 Shaft can be in battles with Colonels and Brigadiers. It's a lot harder, but I can still manage to do pretty well.
-
Yeah, I do have a bad track record with rank up parties. Well, this one turned out fairly nicely. Boss, Medic, and gameboy were present. I was parkoured up to the top of one of the buildings (credit goes to Boss and Medic for planning and executing the idea), and I got a ranking kill. Here's the picture: http://i.imgur.com/2ex83SH.jpg

Vegetation was added a few months ago, maybe even as recent as December. I'm not sure if they realized that it made that camping spot far more viable or not.

We get paid, but we're not allowed to tell you how much. -
I'm 1 kill away from ranking to Captain. I'll see if I can plan a quick rank up party.

Serpuhov has been around for a long, long time, but the spot where people like to camp has only been covered with bushes recently. Before that, camouflage was scarce, and few bothered using it due to the lack of cover. The trees were added there recently, and that's when players started camping in there. It was quite hard to dislodge campers who were using the spot (especially if they were using supplies), so this is a welcome update to me. There are plenty of other places to camp in Serpuhov. tl;dr: that camping spot is a relatively recent phenomenon. It hasn't been there since the map's beginnings, and most, if not all players know how to play well on it without using that camping spot. If you're basing your entire strategy on that spot being there, I don't think that's good planning.

Was he using drugs?

Alright. I think I'll shoot for M2 Thunder, then. Hmph, maybe I can earn enough crystals for both M2 Thunder and M2 Vulcan. I have no need for M2 Viking. When you have a 278.2 HP and 7.35 speed M2 Dictator, it doesn't look as impressive. Hunter's a good medium between Hornet and Dictator, so I'm going to use it for flag runs on medium sized maps and for sniping. EDIT: gah, typo

Congrats on ranking! I can get either M2 Thunder or M2 Vulcan on the Valentine's Day sale in addition to Digital and M2 Hunter. What should I go with?

Your information is incorrect. Railgun can't actually fire through walls- if it appears that way, either the shot traveled through a crack in the wall or you were shot by a lagger. I've used Railgun for a long time, and my shots have never gone straight through level geometry. The "penetration" statistic determines how much damage a target will receive if the shot has already passed through another tank. That's why it's hard to get multi-kills with M0 and M1 Railgun. It has nothing to do with passing through walls.

Assuming the Twins user can hit the Vulcan user in the first place- Vulcan's range is superior. Also, light hulls can be destroyed in less than one clip from Vulcan. I think Twins would win at close range and Vulcan would win at medium-to-long ranges. Vulcan shots are hard to dodge past close range, while Twins is pretty easy to dodge past close range. Twins has the advantage in impact force and damage, though, so I think it's a fairly even fight.

Hmph, I wonder what the refurbished In Love paint will look like. I'm not a fan of the current version. Looks like I'll be purchasing a few things on the sale later this month. M2 Hunter, Digital, a turret, and maybe a few other things.

You copied the turret from the Gauss Warthogs from the Halo series. You should draw a new turret; you're not going to win anything with your current one. -
Very good combination. Best M2 heavy hull + best M2 turret = one-man-army. There's a reason why I run away from M2 Titan-Smokies whenever I see them. You don't want to fight one face-to-face.

Sniping with Shaft on a basic level is easy, but once you get to the medium ranks, you have to really know what you're doing in order to survive. At my rank, most people know anti-Shaft tactics pretty well, so you have to step up your game in order to be effective.
-
It is. That doesn't mean it's a bad tactic- if you practice with it enough, you can do surprisingly well. Dark shado and SmexyGiraffe both are great at it; I'm decent.
-
The auto aim seems to be working alright, but the recoil can make targeting enemies at long range harder. The devs are working on fixing the not-damaging-Hammer bug; hopefully it should be done in a day or two.
-
It might not be its intended purpose, sure, but it often works pretty well. If it's stupid, but it works, it's not stupid.

Yep. That was a happy day. Using Dictator-Rail always brings back memories for me. That's one reason why I still use it. -

There's a one-submission limit, unfortunately. Considering that this thread is 11 pages long, it's going to take me a long time to review everything. If multiple entries were allowed, I might not finish in time. Just pick one design. If you like them equally, you won't think "dang, I should have picked the other one" in the future. :) -
The M0 Hornet part was really odd. Most of those people have the wits to use at least M1 Hornet- not this guy, apparently.
-
How about no. Stick Shaft on a light hull, run into enemy territory, and quick-snipe. Let me know how easy it is for you.
