I started in May 2014, so yeah, probably missed out on a lot of the old maps. Most of the Hornet-Ricos I see don't bother turning their turret half of the time, so the combo has a bad reputation. As such, a lot of people seem to ignore you if they only see you momentarily infiltrating their base, thinking that you won't be able to do much damage. At least until you've racked up a significant body count, and by then they'll probably be paranoid, carefully watching the areas you've been spotted in. When that happens, switch to an assault combo and come in through the front door. ;)

Oddly enough, I find that Hornet-Rico is a nice combination. On a recent Seruphov TDM, I decided to mess around with that combo. I managed to sneak into the Red team base, scout out opponents, and pelt them from behind with Ricochet shots. With good knowledge of the map, you can take out multiple people this way. When you die, sneak back in and repeat. I never thought any stealth tactics besides camouflage would be useful in Tanki, but apparently it's both useful and highly effective. If you play stealth games (or have watched someone else play stealth games), it's actually quite easy. Move quickly when nobody's looking, use camera angles to make sure you stay out of sight, and pick off enemies who are oblivious to your position.

I'm starting to use my Isida again, now that I've gotten used to Rico and Rail. It's vanilla, but surprisingly effective against late M2s. It's a rapid mobile medic with Hornet and a bulldozer with Dictator.

You're not supposed to use Hornet and Wasp for health. You use them for speed and maneuverability. Health isn't everything, you know.

He was going up on one of the "^" shaped ramps on Monte Carlo. I fired my M2 Railgun at him, which made him almost vertical, and I pushed with my Dictator until he flipped.

Probably just you. Most of the Dictator players I've seen don't do that.

I would definitely take Sandstone over Corrosion, but it's a lot more expensive.

Loackie doesn't use Shaft. He dislikes those who camp, but otherwise he tolerates more mobile Shafters.

I would vote for the "special stats for a certain period of time, then you can keep the looks" if the custom version is superior to the normal version. If the custom version is balanced (like a Railgun with a faster reload but lower damage), maybe you should be allowed to keep the stats too.

I managed to flip a M3 Titan today with M2 Dictator and M2 Railgun.... no screenie, but Trom saw it happen too.

I'd like to know why you think Shado's nationality matters here. Anyway, back on topic. I find that Shafts aren't a big problem with my M2 Dictator/Ricochet/Sandstone combo. It has massive health (augmented by Sandstone), decent speed, and a lot of impact force at close range. They only become a problem if they're drugging, really.

Love the new design! Hmm, the Ghost test box shown at the end of the video seems promising. If implemented, it would open up a whole realm of stealth strategies in Tanki. I wonder who our North Korean player is. :ph34r:

That's not a critical hit. The statistic on the far right is the damage at the maximum range. The range stat will increase how far your shots go, the damage at max range stat will determine how much damage they do after traveling for a bit.

The only exception is M0. M0 Viking has more health than M0 Dictator for some reason.

Caught a gold box with my good old Dictator today. I don't have a screenshot, unfortunately. It was in a Seruphov CTF- I didn't actually manage to find the spot in time, but I saw the gold box fall. After firing up a N20, I charged forward and managed to grab it by the treads. It really is a great gold box hull.

Congrats on ranking, Shado! Aleksej, the Higgs Boson particle is the smallest thing in the universe. Quarks are small, but not the smallest. I'm seeing a lot more M2 Hunters and Dictators now, ever since the Christmas sale. Still a lot of M2 Vikings around, sure, but it's nice to see a wider variety of hulls being used.
