    Let's Discuss Dictator!

GL HF doing that on flat maps. Haven't had much time to play recently, so I'm a bit behind on my ranking schedule. I have finals next week, so I need to study, but on the bright side I get half of the day off. The week after that, I'm on break, so I should be able to rank in time.

    Let's Discuss Hammer!

I think the reloading is an issue. You have to empty your clip if you want to reload the weapon, and in the process you're extremely vulnerable. In addition, if your target uses a health kit before getting destroyed, you'll have no choice but to run away and hope you don't die. Railgun has this issue too, but players tend to use it at long range, where you're less likely to get destroyed. In its current state, I think it would only be useful for NS battles against light hulls; anything with enough health to survive 3 shotgun hits can destroy you easily.

You copied the whole entire thing. I'm not going to take the time to compare them here since it's so obvious. Please stop saying obviously untrue things. You're fooling nobody. Alex copied this one.

    Let's Discuss Hammer!

I'm testing it out as we speak. My comments will come soon. (for future reference, my test server username as of 12/12/14 is Vanguard225. I'm a bit forgetful, so yeah.)

    Name the machine gun

I think Spitfire is the best name, like others have suggested.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

2 in a row isn't supposed to be possible either. If you've seen someone get 2 crits in a row, it was either some rare glitch with the calculations or another Smoky user landed a crit after the first user did (which is most likely what happened). Another possibility would be that you saw this before Smoky's critical hit mechanics were changed to its current form; before that (not sure exactly when), you could get 2 or more extremely powerful crits in a row if you were lucky. I agree that M3 Smoky doesn't necessarily have to win against M2 Smoky, but if it loses, it's very likely not going to be because the M2 Smoky somehow got 2 crits in a row.

    Let's Discuss Hornet!

Probably since everyone uses it and you're used to Wasp. :P Anyway, I am glad I purchased M2 Hornet. It's fast (only a little slower than my Wasp, not enough to notice), maneuverable (I've gotten used to the drifting now), and has good health (certainly more than my Wasp). The handling is actually not that bad; the turning speed is alright, it's fairly stable, and the drift doesn't really mess with my driving much. I'm going to ditch it for M2 Wasp when I get to Colonel, since it's arguably better. Overall, I think it's well worth the crystals.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

Consider getting Cedar if you only need protection from Thunder. It's relatively cheap and a good deal, since it has as much Thunder protection as Rustle (32%). My Cedar has been with me since WO3 (from a kit a while back), and it's saved my hide multiple times. It makes M2 Thunders only slightly stronger than M0 Thunder, which we can all agree is not a big threat to M1s or M2s.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

In a M3 Smoky vs. M2 Smoky scenario, the M3 Smoky would usually win. It's impossible for a Smoky (any modification) to get multiple crits in a row. The critical chance is reset to a negative value upon scoring a critical hit, so you'll need to land one or two more shots on an opponent before the possibility of getting critical hits is a positive number.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

My bad. I'll edit my post. Smoky's normal shots don't deal much damage, but that doesn't make it a bad weapon. The critical hits (which can do quite a bit of damage) and impact force are what you should be taking advantage of.

Change your password immediately. Then, email help@tankionline.com about your issue, like Klankill said.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

You can edit your post, just FYI. M2 Smoky is the most expensive M2 turret in the game, I think. Correction: it's the second most expensive M2 turret in the game. It's also widely considered to be the best M2; many people say their M2 Smokies can compete with M3s.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

At the M1 level, maybe. A few MUs will balance it out. A fully micro-upgraded M1 Smoky is terrifyingly effective; much more so than a M1 Thunder, in fact. I've had the misfortune of fighting against players using them, and it was very hard. Even with M2s. Most people agree that M2/3 Smoky is a better than M2/3 Thunder, respectively, assuming both don't have micro-upgrades. When fully micro-upgraded at M3, they're essentially equal.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

I was a Sergeant-Major when I got my M1 Smoky on Tanki's 5th birthday. It wasn't that hard to earn ~11K crystals; I spent 5500 on M1 Smoky and the rest on M1 Titan with a few thousand to spare.

    Let's Discuss Vulcan!

I think the machine gun should be named "Spitfire". I can't wait to try it out on the test server. It should be quite interesting to use, with the gyroscope and other features.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

M1 Smoky is really cheap for a M1 turret. It's a lot cheaper than M1 Thunder, for example, which costs 38,600 crystals. Compared to that, 11,000 crystals isn't much.

He said modification, not micro-upgrades. At M2 and M3, Smoky gets significantly better.

    {Guide} Smoky by FrozenGold

This is an example of "your" text below: Pros: 1. The only turret with a Critical shot 2. Fast shooting can knock off an enemy’s aim 3. Recoil allows you to jump of ledges Cons: 1. Damage decreases with distance 2. Single attack only 3. 15 paints with resistance against Smoky So basically, Smoky is a mid to long ranged weapon, with good damage and rapid fire. It is the only weapon with a critical chance; it is the first turret available to the player and is capable of being used at any stage with any hull. This is an example of FrozenGold's text below. The only differences in the passage I've chosen here is a bit of formatting in certain spots. The text is exactly the same. There is no way you didn't copy him.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

There's no way a critical hit could do less damage than a normal shot. While critical hits can't destroy an opponent in one hit, a M1 Smoky (I'm guessing you're using one) critical hit deals approximately 2.15 times the damage of a normal shot, which is enough to put a large dent in your enemy's health if you're close enough.
  20. This is blatant plagiarism. Compare this with FrozenGold's Smoky guide here. The text is almost identical; the only differences are in formatting and a lack of pictures. Note that copying over text from other people and claiming it as your own is NOT a good idea. In real life, this can get you into big trouble.

    [Issue 29] Main Topic

Once in a while (there's really no way of predicting when), reporter recruitment will be open. During this time, there will a thread in the General section with instructions on how to apply; you can apply from there. Recruitment currently isn't open, so you'll have to wait.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

M3 Freeze has blue lights too; they're just at the back. Not very noticeable from the front, but they're definitely there.
  23. Thekillerpenguin

What to buy? Which is better?

Depends on your playing style, mostly. M1 Firebird is great if you love attacking your enemies at close range, but you should upgrade the burning time and damage a few steps when you rank to around WO2; those micro-upgrades will really help you deal with later-unlocked M1s. M1 Railgun is also great; it can last you well into the M2 ranks even without micro-upgrades. It's only good for medium or long range combat, so if you're not a fan of that, then this might not be a good choice.
  24. Thekillerpenguin

do you have a M1 or above

"M4" here refers to fully micro-upgraded M3 equipment.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

Excellent point. At night, it's really easy to see the laser sight, even if you hide it. Daytime, not so much.
