If you want a Shaft-Thunder paint at Lieutenant Colonel, try Winter. It also has the bonus of good camouflage.

I'd prefer not to say for privacy reasons. I'm in high school though, so that gives you an idea.

It's my birthday today! \0/ I wish I could buy M1 Hunter right now as an in-game birthday gift, but I'll probably wait until Halloween (5 days from now) to get it.

If you want to kill someone around a wall, you still need to expose yourself to fire. The cone of damage is about the same as Firebird or Freeze, believe it or not.
-
M2 Hunter looks a lot better than M2 Viking to me.
-
I haven't had time to test my new Dirty out in combat against Shafts yet. Maybe tomorrow. I'm hoping to get M1 Hunter on Halloween, so I can get the perfect medium-light sniper combo. Shaft is a very personalized weapon, I guess. When choosing something to mount on it, there is no right or wrong.
-
Viking-Shaft is a pretty good combo from what I've seen. Low profile, decent speed, and good health. I'm more of a Hunter-Shaft person, since it's better for offensive Shafting. I intend on getting Dirty and M1 Hunter soon; M1 Hunter/M1 Shaft + a good paint is extremely deadly, even against M2s.

I have. If I see one, I switch to Shaft or Smoky. Also, mines are extremely useful, since Viking is very wide and not exceptionally maneuverable.

Happy birthday GoldRock! my birthday is on the 26th huhuehue Anyway, your avatar is currently a cybersport commentator, but you're also part of the press. Did you get to pick?

No, Tundra is only allowed on M1 Hornet and M1 Wasp, since it has 30% protection. The maximum protection allowed with M2 Wasp/M2 Hornet is 20%. To quote Hogree's XP guide: Basic List of Protections Allowed in XP Battles M1 Hornet - Max 30% - Tundra M1 Wasp - Max 30% - Tundra M2 Hornet - Max 20% - Savanna/Sandstone (10% is acceptable too) M2 Wasp - Max 20% - Savanna/Sandstone M3 Hornet - NO Protection Paint. M3 Wasp - Max 10% - Forester/Emerald/Corrosion

It kind of is a dinner plate. The design looks like somebody took a Hunter and squished it under a Mammoth. It has most of the aesthetic features Hunter has (sloped front, things that extend from the main body to the treads, etc.), but they're flatter and deformed. Nah, you Vikings are dinner plates for us to eat you breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Python only has 14% Shaft protection, not much. Dirty has pretty close to twice that protection.
-
...you bought M0 + M1 + M2 Rico without a sale? You have a lot of crystals to spare. Anyway, take advantage of Ricochet's bouncing effect. If you're not sure if there's an enemy around the corner, fire a few shots. If you hear the hit sound, you can either run away or continue sending rounds downrange to destroy anyone there. Make sure you lead your shots at longer ranges.

I vouch for Hunter. Can't beat the great speed, stability, appearance, and versatility. The weight is also better than Viking for some reason. Not complaining.

Maybe you should have gotten M2 Thunder instead of Rustle. I mean, sure, it's great, but you need M2 turrets now. You have good paints and a good hull, so Rustle seems to be a misplaced purchase. I think you're at the rank where you should get a M2/M2 combo. My M1s will still carry me pretty far, so that's not a huge concern for me right now. I might get M2 Isida on a 50% sale, but I'd prefer the amazingly OP M2 Ricochet (ridiculously large amount of bang for your buck) if I can rank up to 1st Lieutenant by Christmas/New Year's. I like Rico just as much as Thunder.

What stats would you MU?

Tundra isn't allowed on M2 Hornets. >_>

Orange is more visible than Forester on many maps, so I think it's the best if you want to do a video demonstration. Wasp-Shaft can wreak havoc against an unprepared enemy team. Large maps generally have a lot of bushy/forested areas to snipe from; get a good camouflage paint, and the enemy team will grow paranoid. I like to use Wasp-Shaft on Lost Temple. Plenty of targets to shoot at along with lots and lots of bushes. On the summer variant, I use Lead, since it blends in with the grass really well. On the winter variant, I use Tundra, since it's good camo and the extra protection really comes in handy. If I become a newspaper reporter, I should write an updated guide for camouflage. Hogree's guide from Issue 7 is useful, but some of the information is outdated.

I'm definitely getting Dirty when the paint sale comes, since it's quite cheap, has good protection against Shaft, and has good camo in dirt environments. Anything else that you would recommend at my rank? I'm not interested in Roger or Python. In the non-protective paint department, I'm getting Orange. Mostly for parkour, since it's quite visible if you need to have a video or something.

Smoky is by no means a long ranged weapon, let alone a sniper.

50% off prepaid cards, followed by 50% off all paints!

On exactly which day will the paints be discounted? -
Wasp with Emerald looks great, OK. Emerald is one of those paints where it's almost impossible to find a hull that doesn't look good in it. Still like Jade, Picasso, and Reporter better.

M1-A2's M2 Shaft is the thing of legends, from what I can tell. Anyway, congrats on ranking, Medic. I bet your kit helped your ranking speed a lot.

I somehow managed to get a Gold Box in a Polygon DM with M1 Wasp/M1 Railgun....in a game of mostly Majors, many of whom were using the M2 Medium Kit. When the siren went off, people started camping in the center. Trom switched to Dictator, while I died two times. After I respawned, the gold was already in the air, so a huge mosh pit started collecting in the center. I was one of the first to get in (Wasp's speed), and the pushing angled the front of my Wasp up in the air, where I managed to touch the gold box. The new gold box is easier to see, but I like the looks of the classic one a lot better.

Review [Issue 26] [Comparison] Smoky or Thunder?
Thekillerpenguin replied to Pathfinder in Newspaper Archive
Paints only affect protection from a turret. Paints do not affect your turret's performance.
