As far as web browsers go I haven't heard of any custom ones. Usually waterfox or pale moon run flash games best for most people. Chrome tends to run it worst due to google's homebrew flash. A lot of people prefer to use a standalone flash player which is also allowed and encouraged. If you mean a custom game client I haven't heard anything positive. Besides most of them will log your password and send it back so the people who made it can steal your account. And that is if you are lucky and it doesn't come with malware to find your credit card numbers.

I for one am going to miss flash. If anything adobe ran it into the ground through negligence and lack of updates, when macromedia first came about flash was a full decade ahead of its time offering unheard of functionality. In terms of performance it can still be as resource efficient as newer options. Flash just got a terrible reputation from terrible and inefficient implementation, as well as obtrusive ads. As far as the past 20 years of games, chats, and rtmp streaming it'll be the end of an era.

You can always install unity, it is often better performing than flash for the same task. Meaning your bad pc will be somewhat less burdened by unity tanki.

That is in response to a new vulnerability, that has been having a scandal on the flash. It was so severe firefox blocked flash by default. There is a new version that has come out since then, but I worry for tanki since some percentage of people are scared off by any security warning and some percentage of people never upgrade anything.

Yes, The past couple updates have greatly increased my ram usage, created fps spikes sometimes down to 5 when I would normally hover around 59-60, and even crashed on occasion. Also I've been getting fatal errors on smaller maps. I might try to revert to an earlier version. It will make it much harder to attract new players, since everyone is trying to kill off the player support. For those who still play it will remain largely unaffected. Hopefully browsers don't end up blocking unity by default as well.

I am sort of in the same boat. I'd like a group of people to play with who get on around the same time. Preferably people who speak the same language so we can voice chat. But clans seem to be completely geared towards cybersports which I have little interest in. Many of them do other organized activities but the recruitment process is cybersports based. Some of them might meet my needs I'd have no idea which ones. Besides with a few exceptions it is largely a club for rail users.

How many players have siblings that also play? How many of them play at the same time? At the same rank? Barely anyone. The loss would be trivial compared to fixing the mult problem.

I agree. - Teams are unbalanced so most maps end up with a score of 0 to 10+ with no real competition - Terrible variety in maps - little being done about omnipresent mults

I haven't seen this lag or even people complaining about more lag before now. The updates have been alright for the most part. A few complaints, a few things I liked. Mostly ignore the larger issues. While I don't think tanki is getting worse it is not better.

That is called a raid and it is a common tactic by organized groups. Either to steal the battlefund or to purposely make others upset. To prevent it try playing in shorter maps of 15 minutes. You get the same crystals over time, even though it seems like less, and this sort of behavior is less ubiquitous.

Railgun has always been over-rated, and a lot of people get it because they can only afford one set of equipment and want to try xp or clan battles. Probably harms gameplay as a whole but at least it isn't as disproportionate as it used to be. At least several combos balance very well against it so you can always be assured a few easy kills.

A good way to keep this thread active would be to post common examples. Like this one, half of one team doing nothing, about a third of the other: It'd be so easy to block multiple log ins from the same ip and increase rewards for the losing team. I think the best thing we could do is to keep making threads and keep threads alive, spread awareness and let people vent their anger. Eventually maybe they will do something about it.

From the bias perspective of someone who often gets yelled at for maintaining too high a k/d ratio rather than going for the flag I am not entirely sure I agree with this one. There is a fine line here. Certainly running flags is much more lucrative for an individual player, but would you rather improve your score or help your team win? Making a solo suicide run for the flag, even with drugs, is often a futile effort against a well balanced defense. Someone being able to hang in mid field and maintain fire on enemy defenses can turn the tide of battle. Meanwhile controlling the center means your team has access to more supply drops, and opponents going for your flag take damage and often have to pop their medkit before they even approach your defenders. Take madness as an example. One shaft on the ramp hitting people as they jump down helps to hold the bottom more than 3 people vying for points from the flag.

There is a lot I'd like to know about mults. Are they predominately used to turn the tide of battle or to afk for gold boxes? Is it usually done by sophisticated players, groups, or casually by individuals? Are the accounts used for anything else and could they be shared accounts made by players who quit or got hacked? Could it just be members of a team helping their buddies on the other side while they are tabbed out doing other things? Do players use their main connection to mult or do they use proxies? Are these tactics used evenly around the world or are they more commonly used by players in certain countries? It is odd with the number of mults no one has come forward and said, "this is how it is done, people do it this way all the time please stop it by taking these specific steps"

There are several times where the game makes it a player's best interest to work against their own team. Take madness ctf for example. Ideally people would defend their teams flag and hold the bottom but even if you get more kills than the next two team mates combined it equates to fewer points than the pile of people pushing eachother to fight over the flag.

Still happens all the time for me. It is a nice thing to hand it back but is an act of pure charity and should never be entitled.

I see a ton of people using this. Hard to prove though. I'd suggest e-mailing copies of the clients for each hack, as well as where they can be downloaded, and an explanation of how each one works to help@tankionline.com they are usually very quick to respond and will pass it along to the devs. From there the devs will move to break the hack. Plus hopefully their legal department can go after whoever is hosting the hacks. E-mailing links that host hacks is probably an effective strategy. Exploitative software almost always violates the terms of domain registrars as well as web hosts, so a few well worded complaints can go a long way. Not to mention they are almost invariably bundled with malware. This would actually be a decent solution to stop the proliferation of hacks after the switch to unity. If we could get about 40 reliable people in an irc channel we could take shifts searching for hacks, reporting them on any grounds we can find to any hosts we can find. Less scrupulous people could get it taken down with a realistic dmca request, since few business investigate them, but I'm sure there are several more legitimate grounds for complaint.
