Well it's fixed for me. I did nothing on my end but it works now.
-
I'm getting it too. Thought it was on my end, since I was getting several fatal errors caused by a ram leak. When restarted flash and cleared my cache I was unable to get into any server. Just an infinite loading screen. Tried it on my windows 7 desktop in chrome and waterfox, neither work currently. Tried my linux desktop to no avail. However playing the kongregate embedded version seems to work.

That sucks. I guess that is the risk to instant microupgrades. How do you know it was your little brother and that you account didn't get hacked? Someone malicious enough to try to spend all your crystals. Try changing your password, it should keep them both out.

I like this idea. We should take all the links to exploitative third party software that we can find and submit them to the devs. Careful not to download anything or leave yourself vulnerable, just gather enough information to turn in so they can fix the exploit that allows the software to work, or so they can file a dmca/cease and desist request where appropriate.

Efficiency counts for a lot. Sometimes flash will have memory leaks for me up to 1.5 gigs, I just keep throwing system resources at it.

Grapeshot would be awesome. With the area of ranged aoe somewhat dominated by thunder at the moment it would be nice to have some variation. Seems like it would be resource intensive, since there is a change none of the shot within the spread area would actually hit. Also it seems like it would have the potential for some insane burst damage that would have to be balanced with a high reload time. How do you picture it working? Also would a gatling gun be all that different from twins or ricochet?

This is not a suggestion, I'm just brainstorming an idea and wondering what the community would think about it. Or if you have any ideas to flesh it out a bit before I consider making a suggestion thread in the appropriate forum. What if they took away Isida's self heal. Instead it would offer a boost to damage and damage reduction (possibly 25% to both, not stacking with drugs) to the current heal target. This boost would take 3 seconds of continuous healing to take effect and would last about 5 seconds after the healing stops.

Sounds like it overheated. Just a guess without knowing the model number or the cpu temp at the time. Was it a mac by any chance? Flash tends to use a lot more resources on those.
-
Not a big deal but I got an isida glitch today, thought I should let you guys know. It did no damage but the attack from an isida persisted until I died regardless of distance or obstructions. It persisted until I died. Just a lowest priority graphics bug but I figured I should make a report.

So I have a double crystal card and there is a sale on. I tend to enjoy playing a medium tank and I will probably want prodigi at some point regardless. Should I get the medium m2 kit?

I am a bit skeptical of torch, it looks like chromium with plugins. It also tries to install bunch of toolbars. As though the company wanted to profit off the free chromium software by adding a few plugins and then making money selling toolbars.

Had a saboteur switch sides on me today, followed me around to push me off of things the moment he joined me team. Told him I was recording him and he stopped. Sometime it is that simple.

The health of the game has to be valued over short term profits. If paid users are so overpowered that it makes people quit then the game doesn't grow and you attract fewer paid users. Financially it is best to strike a balance and offer people the minimum perks to separate them from their money. Personally I give tanki a good bit of money, as I have several games in the past (especially a few minecraft servers) because it meets my criteria. Everything is available to free users with work and without an overly prohibitive delay (think of the countless facebook games where one would have to grind for a year to get the equivalent of $20 worth of benefits).

I use waterfox, it is a 64 bit fork of firefox that tends to be much more stable, for me at least. You could also try Pale Moon which is a similar project. Same flash plugin as firefox but it should use significantly less ram on 64 bit systems. Also don't underestimate IE. The browser sucks but it is the only version of flash that adobe actually puts work in, since it is also used by third party software such as rtmp encoding. For awhile now chrome has had their own integrated flash. It has never been that stable for me, especially for games.

I contacted a russian friend and he sent back the following: - What you are doing will not be tolerated. I will report you and you will get a ban. This is your first and final warning. - То, что ты делаеш не будет допускаться. Я сообщу тебя, и ты получиш запрет. Это твоя первая и последняя предупреждение. - I am recording this with screencapture software. - Я записываю это с программой ScreenCapture. - Help your team or leave or I will report you . - Помоги твойей команде или уйди, или я сообщу тебя. - You are now being reported. - ты сообщаешся. hope it is accurate

I was looking through various threads when I found this: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=204152 The guide has an option for bitcoin, but I can't seem to find it anywhere in game. Is this feature region specific, lost in a switch from Xsolla to paymentwall, or am I doing something wrong?

I e-mailed a reliable German friend and he sent this back: - Deine Taten werden nicht toleriert werden. - Ich werde dich melden und du wirst gebannt. - Dies ist die erste und letzte Warnung. - Ich zeichne das mit capturesoftware auf Hope it is accurate.

Sup wendoom. There is a way to link your account with a password on the main site. Then it will work for both. Just email support at help@tankionline.com and tell them that you'd like to use your kongregate account on the main page. It worked for me: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=208285

Nothing would completely solve this problem. Given the number of people who play tanki I'm sure there is a guy out there who made a sophisticated bot to connect multiple accounts via different proxies and keep them active with believable gameplay just to multi more effectively. But such people are a minority so you can deter most of them. Even a filter would prevent a majority of abuse. To avoid being completely off topic, here is another idea. Is there any way we can get a safe looking shortened url of the thread that we can paste in game to educate people about this campaign?
-
Another idea. What if we selectively make and join shorter games? Less time for battle fund to accumulate so there is less incentive for people to go through effort to try to steal it. If someone multies or switches sides to sabotage people will notice and quit after that round without losing their investment.
-
I agree with the problem but I do not share your optimism. For this sort of plan to work you would have to get the majority of players on your side. This may just be a low rank perspective but what percentage of players ever read the forums, let alone read them regularly? A more ideal solution would be to have a change in game policy, making it harder for the same ip to join both sides of a match or having some sort of a kick system, but I guess if the devs wanted to address it they would by now. If I had to guess instinctively I'd say the number of users retained by such an ip filter would outweigh the number recruited by "playing at a friends house" Probably best if we start small, educating people on video capture software so they can better enforce the rights they already have. I use xsplit, it is free, effective, and easy to use but I have no idea what else is out there. With just a handful of people actively documenting this abuse we can make some sort of impact.

Time to find new entertainment - Tanki just isn't fun any more

Mostly fair criticism. Making pro battles free would go a long way to fix things but it would be too unprofitable. Same with increasing the reward for a losing team so people have some incentive to stay in a losing match. The chat bans irk me. It would be a better system if they just left a wordfilter in place and called it a day. Instead you get a system where a tiny percentage of people who use particular words are reported and dealt severe penalties. The combination of little enforcement and severe penalties comes across as very arbitrary. This doesn't provide much deterrent to people who swear (not that the majority of the community would care in the least if people could swear). In fact it seems like the chat policy is focused around the sole purpose of allowing the game to be embedded on sites such as kongregate and facebook that require a strict profanity policy for multiplayer games. -
Not necessarily. Maybe you have to get two teams flags to score. Would make for some long drawn out games. At any rate it should probably be its own game mode.
