A worthy read. I often wonder why a game like tanki brings out the worst in people. I think it's the 'virtual' abyss that gets in the way. Can't see, hear or touch anyone. 'Others' become non-existant. Only the "I" remains. The 3D human being "Body+mind+spirit" needs more than the internet to become whole.

I like that GBs can be used in a positive way to show appreciation. I even think player induced GB diversions are pardonable (to an extent) even though I do not consider it a respectable game strategy. What disturbs me though is the potential for misuse. I don't like that people can now "buy" players by selling GBs.

Interesting. Reflective life mysteries. I love those. Drives me nuts :) What I've figured out so far - there's an untouchable spirit core in every one of us that's our lifesource. It keeps us "afloat", or simply hopeful/positive/confident (if you are not into metaphors). In other words, you are happy just "being". At peace. When you are at peace, you are ready to "just go with it" and live. But life gets bored of being peaceful and tries to entertain itself by throwing stuff at us that smack you in the face. At the end of the day, what remains unaccounted is the effort it takes to reach generalissimo. I'm not talking about just experience or crystals. I'm talking about how much a player 'strains' - financially or otherwise. While on the whole customers could arguably be seen as an infinite source, this does not translate to individual effort/money/time values. You don't want to come to a point where "everyone" has played tanki and no one recommends it simply because they end up feeling like this (bet your bottom ruble on it) - So every time tanki rolls out a significant game-altering change, make sure the greys are in perspective and not just black/white.

Rock and roll'n the moolah. On a serious note though, maybe there were gaps in the previous paints system that allowed players to take advantage of the lack of protection combos. Now the field is so far leveled out that it's going to be impossible to mix buyers and non-buyers in a game together and call it balanced, forget free-to-play. That dwindling player count on the home page looks like a countdown timer.
