Hey, seriously, everything is bigger in Texas, even sarcasm. No, really, seriously.

Topic reminder: If you're from Texas and play Tanki, feel free to announce. Post a notice to me and I'll add you to the list.
-
Um, someone got cold feet, or they did me a solid and took down that unflattering selfie I took back in 1940 something.
-
If this works for me, I will be stoked. thanks for putting this out here to use.

Alright, so fixed some links, added some new. Playlist is go. @HTownMizzouFan heads up, playlist with some stuff you might like.
-
"What? Wait, that was the joke?"
-
This reminds me, there is a playlist here. Southern type tunes that I put up for Tanki game play. Been a while since I had added anything. I need to go back and check the links too. I'll update dead ones and then I have a 12 or so I think that could be added. I'll be doing that. HTown, heads up dude, I got some stuff you might like too. Coming soon.

Duh, that's easy, Spongebob Texas head.

I can only imagine it's very different, but your cousins could tell you more, maybe you could judge for yourself if you'd like it here or not by hearing from them.

Yeah, this one was build flat and real. Try to create something mundane, yet still fun to play, and hard to play. The HQ and Comm center have strangle points, but not too strangled, and once out, you have a ton of options on which way to go, but really you better take the long way, or get hammered when roaring down a long road. The only novelty on this one is like I said in notes, "Hanger T", never used it before, VERY cool that it is illustrated on the INSIDE. They should have had more of these. Thanks again for props.

Military Base Large map based upon a military command base, complete with heliports, control tower, barracks, guarded entrance, motor pool and bays, HQ building, and other sundry related items found in bases. As always, the idea is to make a playable map that is as realistic as possible. Few raised vantage points, a lot of flat and long firing trajectories, and complex methods of ingress and egress from flag locations (not show here, but one with be in front of the HQ buildings, the other in the communications parking lot (steel towers). Where might that be, if I may ask?

Well, one day you should buy a ticket and come. Dallas first, Dallas-Fort Worth area is the largest landlocked METROPOLITAN area in the world (by incorporated municipalities within a county) in the world, second only to Mexico City (Basically the federal district and not a square inch unincorporated). If you Begin to start counting Collin County and the others that are now entering the race to near full incorporation, DFW Metro area is by far the largest in the world. You can drive from Dallas to the Oklahoma border in some instances and be in an urban environment (ie zoned residential or commercial), and let me tell you, that's a long way. Austin next, it's the capitol of Texas, and as always, everything is bigger in Texas, including the capitol building, bigger in fact than the capitol building in DC. Texas was it's own country, and the capitol building in DC was modeled of the one in Texas, believe it or not. After that, you visit San Antonio, the Alamo, and lots of Texas history there. You Then go east to Houston, see what oil can do in terms of money, and then you hit the coast and travel north, Corpus Cristi, Galveston, Port MacArthur, etc. The beaches are not "beautiful" in the regular sense, dark water, fairly tame landscape behind the beaches, but, very unique and once you stop and really sit and take it in, it has a beauty all it's own. Now mind you, that is just visiting the east of Texas, lots of open landscape in Central and West Texas. Big Ben National Park, Valdosta and Uvalde and Eagle Pass, and then you gt almost plains country up in the pan handle region in the North. From mountains, to beaches, and everything in between, about the only thing there isn't in Texas are ski slopes.

That is the door used in the Brazil Map, "Rio". If you compare it to doors on New Builds and Old Builds and Fachwerk, or however tht is spelled, it is not within proportions, in fact, those doors are damn near Nephelim sized when compared to the size of your tank, it's a little ridiculous. The old library had ONE, just ONE, door at least, though you were stuck with only a grey and white cinder block type wall to use with it. See my "Business Park" map I posted not too long ago to see that door. It IS within closer proportion. It's so hard making buildings in a realistic manner with no doors.
-
Okay, I'm gonna jump off a building. Trying to use the "approved" library. Need to do a "com build", 4 story building, clicked server library, loaded it. I can't find any doors in proportion to "building" doors, and that Brazil porch one is useless, COMPLETELY off of scale. Anyone know where in that library there is a door for "com builds" that is actually USEFUL?

If you do find out more, I'd love to know. That has always been something I wonder about. Do shafts engage at any range period, and is ther a arcade vs sniper mode range issue, or is sniper unlimited.
-
The sad part is that yes, you are reloading, not fully charged still. THE ONLY advantage to this is you make no noise when you do it.
-
So I think I get it, you mean get rid of the "stone" concrete tiles. Hrrrm. Gonna think about that.
-
SO I generally hate criticism, but, that would make for a dull and brutish person, thus, I will take the compliment and ask you a few questions about what you said. When you say different tile sets, are you talking about the fact that I am using older, unsupported tiles, not part of the current distribution of the Editor and Testing Tool, or do you refer to the vast tracks of gray concrete? The railroad tile one I am also not sure about. I get that I have a dirt track tile with rail, but I never saw a concrete rail tile. Is there one? And for the record, I want everything to be as concrete as possible, that's the feel of the map. I thought about doing transition tile, but that would ruin the effect of the track being next to the loading platforms, it had to be narrow. I wanted two tracks, but they don't have a junction tile for tracks either, so I'm stuck with one track, otherwise I would have done one rail in and out, and then split them inside and rejoined them on the other end. And as far as the long spaces with gray, I know it's generally a "no no", it renders poorly at distance, but I tried rotating ALL the tiles randomly, because I wanted a "Magistral" type feel to it, where in some parts you can take a shot from across the map and hit someone in the clear. I suppose I could use the road tiles (1x1) and add dotted lines and that might break it up a bit, and now that I think about it, that's actually a good thought. Anyways, would like to hear what you were thinking about.

No, really, can a mod or admin as the Dev team if they can explain how to use the Tarabuilder to construct your own library?

Speechless.

Valid point, but in this case, you have unit that is devoid of much of the complications of other specialty turrets. They can't turn their turret. I know Legendaries with Ricos that can't either, and they lay waste during games with their M4 viking, m4 turret, and double everything on. In all seriousness, this unit need to be re-examined and redone. It causes self damage, oooh ahh, so do thunders, twins, and vulcans. It can't turn it's turret, already explained. That's it. Otherwise it's just big gun that shoots a little odd and does tons of damage. If they had done it right, it could park, deploy, and then rotate turret and fire and do all the damage they want, but not when moving, hell, even close quarters shots would still be okay, no limit on cannon angle, but seriously, it's a bull in a china shop otherwise.
-
To the point of magnums, I haven't felt it SO much, but I have felt it, and, the fact that we have an artillery piece that can kill just about anything undrugged in one hit, is just ridiculous. Shafts have to park and aim, Vulcans have to rotate barrels to speed, Strykers have to lock a target. Magnum, they can drive around and shoot. Um, ARTILLERY people, you should have to press something to immobilize it, then shoot. This unit is a joke and really was not thought out at all. The only true glory is the technical aspect of the arcs for the firing of the weapon, they got that right, but shooting while moving, NEVER. It's dumb, like the one poster said about pulling up to a ramp and being fired upon from any angle. Magnums up top just rolling around and firing willy nilly below , even ROCKING back and forth. IT's stupid. As for the drugging, yes, this weekend WAS THE WORST EVER, I agree totally. That said, it's what Tanki wants, it's what they allow, whatever, this topic was beat to death for years. All I can say is yes, it's worse now than ever. One game, ONE GAME, this entire weekend with dignity of none druggers. I only play now to complete missions. Soon as I have collected, I check out.
