It got closed by admins some time ago, fell into the ether. I made it as a place that I hoped players from Texas could talk and maybe organize, a little tourney, talk trash Texas style, etc. HTown was really good about content and I was posting "Going South" type rock music to keep the place updated, but it tapered off and I guess they thought dead threads look bad. I asked it be reopened for the purposes of Harvey and maybe making the littlest contribution through this place. They agreed, and did, and here we are again.

Fair enough, just thinking of what people who might be in this mess reading that would think, but point taken. And for the record, I am a blast at parties.

While I can see they attempt at being funny, please refrain from that. Peoples lives have been ruined and we're just trying to find little ways to help, not make a joke of tragedy.

Inquiry: Who could make it to a locally sponsored Tanki Tourney? Bring your laptop, rig, whatever. To this point, I have to agree, and this is the nerf. Drugs and OD now take the swift effect of a shaft and turn it into a nuisance, not a threat. I can still effect battles, but never turn the tide as harshly as one could before.

Announcement So, given the recent events of Hurricane Harvey, I asked that my thread be reopened. As I'm sure most know here, Houston and the coast of Texas is pretty much under water, destroyed, ruined, or some combination of the above. I live far enough away that I have been spared this truly difficult fate. That said, I know of at least one person here, if not more, that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey and I wanted to extend support and well wishes to all the members of the Texas Tanki thread, and those still not members who come from those communities. Words without acts though are hollow, and I wish to reach out to them and ask if there is anything we could offer them in terms of support, material or otherwise, in their time of need. While we sit and play Tanki, they are in the real world, and in a situation that really won't get resolved for many of these families for maybe years. Anything we can do for them is maybe no more than some trouble of time, maybe some monies, and that's about it, but for so many, it will be more than they could expect to have for some time to come. Help is also not material, it can be in the form of having someone to talk to, networking for job opportunities else where if they have to relocate, etc. If you are interested and wish to help, please post the following into this forum under your account name: "Wish to aid" If you are a member that has been affected and think we could help in anyway, please PRIVATE MESSAGE ME your need/wish here with the following subject line: "Need (and/or wish) <insert what it is you request>" I will then see what I, and others wishing to help, can do to provide assistance for the requests made. Shaft M2 could kill anything except M3 mammy at first, then they reduxed it, and then kept doing it. That was a bone thrown to shaft players recently, and mind you, you had better full charge and simmer, it's on the cusp, you try to quick shot that full charge, ie, drain the bar, and the second it's gone pop them, you have a 50/50 chance of NOT killing them off, they are near dead, but not quite, so you either lose the kill to a fellow player or they heal up with kit or OD. My follow up arcade shots are third less about in kills now. In fact, I sat the other day and full charged a viking across the map in Lost Temple, did 2k+, a lot plus in fact, can't recall the exact number, but clearly no shield. They had no idea where I was. I popped them again for 382, as soon as possible, and then again, and again, and again, and again, one or two of those arcades were much higher too, but we'll leave it at that. 5 arcades to kill them off, and they were being pinged by my team at the same time. Fast forward minute and 30 seconds in, do it again, and same crap, except this time, around the third, a team mate got first. It's ridiculous, hands down. Shafts are HUGELY annoying now, not the death dealers they used to be. I have to work FAR TOO HARD now for my kills. Sure, every once in a while I land on a team that knows what its doing and I can do the classic snipe from far bit, but those battles are far and few in between the tons of them where I have scoot and shoot way too often because I nail some rail in a viking and it just gets pissed because I'm forcing it to use their precious drugs they paid for. The recharge is longer now too. Can it be played, of course, can it be used effectively, I'm testament to that, but it should not be this hard to play with, it is no longer the unit it was sold to us as.

Oh ye of little knowing. This player DOESN'T drug, I'm from that camp. I'm done going on about drugging though. Whatever, it's the game, I can propass and play drug free, but that's beside the point. The reason why it's harder now is that shafts could at least do careful over watch before and cherry pick targets that had been getting hammered, knowing full well they had already used a RK and were in cool down mode. One big hit, followed by an arcade shot, bam, done. Now, they can hold on to those, OD on entry, ride the light with DA and full health, and then hit the RK when they are really hurting, the time shafts did their job best, preying on the wounded. If they get hit by me right after a OD, they still can pop a RK, and take sometimes THREE FULL charges from my M3.5 shaft. IT's absolutely mid boggling stupid. My recharge times, my laser, my slow turret rotation, coupled against OD druggers and might as well just not play sometimes. As for ME using it, well, I have it, it eventually gets to a 100%, and even TRIED not using it, but teammates were CONSTANTLY bumping me in scope, knocking my careful aim off because they wanted me to blaze them up. I gave up. If I have it, I'll search an izzie or something as soon as it's convenient, unload it it, and head back to my spot and camp in peace again.

There is no "might" about it, your comment is pathetic. Shafts have it harder than ever with the overdrive implemented. Nerf on damage, nerf on stealth, and now nerf on scope shot followed by arcade shot to finish off an opponent with it costing them anything. No, druggers get a wide berth in Tanki, and shafts were their NUMBER enemy. This is was almost removed, and shafts have to work WAY TOO hard now to play, so indeed, your comment is pathetic.

I had been thinking about this for a long time. Custom paint jobs. You can upload a paint job, have it reviewed (no porn, racist symbols, etc) and then it is in your garage. You pay for each custom paint you want. I always wanted to do the ww2 style pin up doll paint job on my tank, or the shark teeth in the front, add subdued nationality markings in black and gray, like a country flag. The real issue here is making sure the paints are not TOO basic, some one just applying a yellow highlight color with no features. The paints would have to match the base skin parameters and the paint overlaid without taking those away. All current paints would be off limits to reproduce UNLESS it is already in your inventory and you are customizing it. The Box Viewer, I believe it is called, will allow you to play with paint jobs locally on your machine if you are so inclined. People could do that and then submit. Barring poorly done paint jobs, and those obviously not acceptable in a public setting, this would be a GREAT way to customize your tank and let Tanki earn a few bucks, making the crystal purchase hefty and maybe discounting the parallel in premium purchase with real money.

So . . . TaraBuilder.jar Found it, have it, trying to compile my own library sets. How do you use it. I tried to execute it by double clicking while in the library folder and got a big fat squat all nothing. So how do you use the TaraBuilder?

Well, the Tara files are part and parcel to theTTT, not the AE. I can do libraries all day long with AE, build maps, all that, it just fails when you try to load them in the TTT.
