So I've ranted everywhere else but here for a while. Of course, can't say much here. We're the most thoughtful and pensive of all players (read the page counts for "Let's Discuss <<insert turret here>>", the next closest has I think about 2/3rds the amount posts, and the numbers plummet from there). It's frustrating as hell to see them do what they're doing. Hazel in clever, he has cornered our turret and now will let it languish into obsolesce, since were the loudest of the "anti-looney tunes concepts", and the most well spoken most often (I know, I'm rude as hell most of the time, but I call it like it is too) than not. If they mess with us too much we sound out here, not that it matters much but we do much more volume in content, so someone reads it. Don't give us active grief, the damage is done, now just make life too hard to play. How are we going to snipe these things, tell me someone. Lasers flaring and they can see them and avoid them and we can't turn nearly fast enough to engage them. Imagine firebird + hopper. It just bounces into your defensive position and starts attacking you from inside or behind, and then, when you do get a chance to maybe get a shot off, it rockets away apply further after burn? Might as introduce an AA gun now in tanki, were gonna need them. I'm so tired of the cheese moving all the time. Alright, burnt out already from posting elsewhere.

Wow, when read together, it's is absolutely appalling the amount of flux and "whatever" this turret is given in such a short period of time. It is by far the most maligned and abused turret by the devs in terms of player sat and consistency. SMH.
-
Not that I care for mouse, in fact, dislike it immensely, BUT, it's there, so, it SHOULD WORK. Like everything else, stop chalking the game with shiny new fluff, and fix it.

Hear ye, hear ye, By decree of the king (that would be me), I hereby by banish any and all snowflake culture. Thou shalt not be butt hurt by mild insults, stereotypical portrayals that hold a modicum of truth, and ye shall receive any and all truths described of thine self, painful as they maybe, without complaint, when proffered in a manner that lacks excess simplly for the sake of it. To snowflake in public is grounds for punishment, and multiple offenses are punishable by death. Also, the king demands that all subjects be familiar with the works of Richard Pryor, Cheech and Chong, Eddie Murphy, Carlos Mencia, and Bill Cosby (yes! Bill Cosby, he was funny, in spite of his short comings, and there is no reason to deny that. He is paying the price of his actions, can't take away what is right fully his...... What Do I hear the musings of snowflakiness? Guards, arrest this dweeb, 50 lashings to the back of his legs) Oh, and if you have time Andrew Dice Clay, though his is of a sometimes baser and less amusing style.

What would make HTML5 better for me.... hmmmm.... Make it work, for starters. Shafts can't play. FIX IT.

Dear Apologist that started this thread, I am now forced to spend time between versions, in Tanki's pathetic attempt at a lie that they needed to disconnect missions from Flash (a stupid lie that makes no sense other than to some abstracted marketing number to prove how successful they have been in getting Flash users to log into HTML5 as of late). I made the mistake of pressing some button in the over-crowded, loud, noisy, absolutely mindbogglingly complicated menu system, and I was thrown into battle. Dear original author of this thread, let it be known that I would prefer to spend winter in a cabin with 5 small children and a woman with child in her womb than subject myself to that crumby interface again and the gaming experience it brought with it. I whiffed 50% of my shots, lag is so bad I can't lead arcade shots with my shaft either, and aside from the lag whiff, it still just randomly pushes the barrel around. HTML5 versions sucks. Say it with me everyone. I'm not hating, I'm not loving Flash, I'm just stating the truth. It wasn't ready, isn't ready, and it needs to be ready come hell or high water 11/31/2020 or they're gonna have to count on their new mobile players if they want this game to survive (good luck with that btw). Fix HTML5 Tanki, people are watching. My post on the subject took the first place topic last week, and God knows I'm not "LOVED" around here, so if I say it and people listen, care, even like my post, then as the saying goes, where there's smoke there is fire. In all seriousness, the gaming experience in HTML 5 was terrible. I tried 3 battles, and my performance was so bad comparatively to Flash, at a statistical glance you'd think I started playing a brand new game I've never played before. Pathetic people, it is just pathetic. How long have you been working on HTML5? Oh yeah, someone couldn't keep their eyes on the prize, and decided "wouldn't be cool to go down the mobile app path?" Well now you have a world class desktop game reduced to a crumby phone app game, oh, and while you're at it, you chunk everything desktop and base everything on phone app, brilliant. Who runs that place? I don't know, but "I WILL CLING" to my Flash browser for as long as possible at this rate.

I'm glad someone else said this. I think this might have been the death kneel of TankiX, and if they continue this trend, it might eventually kill Tanki. The HTML 5 version feels like a sim of a sim. The overall feel is "cartoonish", and this is much like TankiX. It had great potential, and I liked it, until the battles were on like only 4 maps, and the action was too loud and the action didn't feel seamless. Alternativa is playing with fire because they are staking their claim to the idea that mobile phone gamers are the future, and I dare say that they might be right, but Tanki is NOT a mobile phone game. It never will be per say. To truly enjoy the Tanki experience, one must feel the grit of armored combat. Someone in marketing is smoking a big crack pipe if they think phone based players will have the loyalty and affinity of the past players. It's novelty at the moment, but I think Tanki mobile will be a supplemental tool to most PC players once the dust settles, a sort of life line to the account they own. You will NOT SEE a army of Legendaries rise up from strictly mobile gamers, EVER. Won't happen. This said, in the mean time, they are gearing the game to HTML5 so they can endlessly and seamlessly support dev for all platforms, and guess what, the one they are chasing will lead to a dead end. Tanki is about armored combat, armored combat is clearly perceived as NOT CUTE, not LIGHT HEARTED, this isn't Zelda or Pokemon. The Flash based version gives you a sense of weightiness, of heft, of, well, armor. The HTML5 client looks like some sort of PS lobby for something lame like RocketLeague or the equivalent mind-numb game found on gaming consoles. That's fine too, for those games, there is a market for those, but for heaven's sake, Tanki, pay attention, you have something unique, special, and rare. You have a semi strategic arcade game based on something that is not often pursued in the gaming market, and you ALREADY HAVE THE RECIPE for success. You are going to ostracize the fan base and other potential long term player if you keep this up. Just look at the player counts on the home page. The numbers are are higher now again, but no where near where they once were. This should tell you something, ie, what you're doing is not that effective, and if you follow that path, you're going to hit the next down turn and the numbers will drop lower still than the last trough. Fix the HTML5 browser and figure out how to bring back that grit to Tanki (starters you could reskin the entire lobby to something that doesn't look like an android store application. It's choked full of junk, it's annoying, and the placement of functionality is too arbitrary and abstracted, I still find myself sometimes searching for where to click again for something, even after having spent some in it. There is no excuse for that)
-
Again, the pop up is annoying, HTML5 NOT WORKING is unacceptable. The HTML5 doesn't work correctly, it's unacceptable, fix it.

Why is this poll left up and mine was taken down. I mean, really? This is ridiculous. "Tanker's Cling To Flash". When shaft players say hey, your HTML5 client has to be fixed first, then you can eighty-six the flash client, it's taken down and and thrown in the general complaint book. Dude! this is ridiculous. Clinging might be the case for some, but for some of use, you can't play properly in HTML5 still. There is bug with Shaft that HAS TO be fixed first. And again, "inconsiderate behavior", dude, not everyone is trying to "drag you down". It doesn't work, read that, internalize it, it's broken. Do not release someone and deprecate another without ensuring functionality of the original first, code versioning 101. It's gotta be fixed first. What's inconsiderate behavior is the devs ramming it down yours and my throat when it isn't up to standards.
-
But I was focusing on a segment of very vocal and active posters, Shaft players. Lets Discuss Shaft is the most involved, and most voluminous thread of all the turret "let's Discuss..." by an order of magnitude. I want Shaft players to weigh in. I mean, you said what I did, the polls are stat that can't be taken at face value, but as with all statistics, there must be a value associated that tanki can derive with clever marketing and research. I'm not sitting there going "I'm right", I'm trying to get shaft players to weigh in so a numeric value, no matter how much derivation you want to attribute it, is there, just to see what the poll says about active posters. But, alright, cie la vie, I tried, you gotta do what you gotta do. Oh, and to be certain, while I don't like the HTML5 format and layout, again, this isn't about the aesthetic, it's about basic game play, period. No one cares if I like the presentation layers, but all shaft players care if the application layer doesn't work.
-
I get that, but now my petition is lost in a sea of other complaints, and the Vote Poll is gone. The poll itself was a great way to publicly press the issue to the developers. If enough people publicly say we won't play because we shaft mostly, and shaft is broken, the number is not conjecture, its real, tangible, and like all voting, not everyone votes, thus one vote usually represents a percentage of the active population (dunno who does their marketing stats and no one has ever proffered a number as to what percentage of players use the forum and what the corollary of opinion is between active voters and all players). How can we have a poll for this then that can be used to outright display to the opinions of the voting players?

??? I mean REALLY? I do it right and all quiet and get the word out, vote even, not two page ranks ah la 2 to 4 years ago, just straight up CLIENT IS BROKEN, and one of you HAS TO COME AROUND AND TRY, and I mean TRY, to squelch it? I AM COMPLAINING! That better??? I mean seriously? Yes, HTML5 Client is not MAGIC, not everyone likes the interface, some hate it, yours truly, but that's aesthetic, I"M COMPLAINING (please note, again, pointing out the COMPLAINT) that it's not ready for prime time, just "spend money on Ares and new hulls time". The mechanic of sniper aiming is broken. Fix it.
-
Now, want to really blow you mind? Add all the Repairs+DD+DA+SU (I don't consider mines or gold boxes drugs and I've never used a battery in my life) and divide that by total hours played (sum the total hours of my turrets). DPH (Drugs per Hour = 0.5511875511875512) NOW, look at that KD. Not bragging, just saying.
-
Alright everyone, go vote, I'm trying to do this right, rather than write some long monologue about how I "really feel" about Tanki. Being proactive, "influencer", and all that bone headed blubber. Go Vote:

Simply put, some of us definitely do like the old client, look and feel, and some of us do not like the new client, look and feel, but what everyone knows and does not like is Shaft's bug/glitch on Sniper Mode in the new client. Devs, you have to fix this before the deadline, period, final, no questions asked. You can't ask players to move over to an incomplete, faulty, turret bug filled new client if they can't play, and right now, Shaft players can't play. There is no excuse for this, Flash still has updates coming for a year and you are claiming you need to move over now so you can't introduce new things. not. You need to get right what you have, then you do the new things. Start acting like real software developers and version your stuff right, rather than "chasing the dragon" all the time. I don't know if other turrets suffer similar issues, but this cannot be the norm on cut off date. It would be tantamount to nerfing a turret by poor management and poor code implementation.

This reminds me, rank up! That's right. Legendary rank up, ah la Shaft. Made a video. Hope you like it.
-
Then you should, I got a bunch.

Legendary Rank Up I Have Returned XXX !!! XXX
-
Well we found out why maps have been getting no attention lately. Wonder how long till they they can reconcile the technical issues.
-
Nope, in fact was waiting to do my rank up. I did, this past weekend. I'm back. (sort of, busy, but back). And uh btw, have you NOT SEEN all my posts in Ideas For Maps? I've been doing some heavy map making lately.

The baby is you, who can't stand being one shotted. Poor little tanky wanky tanker. Can't press 1 or use a drone to save yourself EVERYTIME. That's right little tanker, you're not invincible, big gun make you go pop, ruined your little plans, so sorry. Just go drug and slug it out with the other little 12345'ers and resign yourself to the fact that this turret was built exactly to kill people like you. Oh well.
-
Thank you Adriel, and yeah, if Assembly Plant was for a melee blood bath, this is silent but deadly "good luck with that" get the flag back to base heartbreaking map. I again, started with something very different in mind in terms of the two sides, but I discovered if I ever want to build anything remotely like what I had in mind, I have to start with the sides and then build out to the bases. It'll probably be my next non-urban map (well, maybe two away, now that I can mess with the physics, I want to make a "Jump Park" map, if nothing else for the grins.). Alright people, start making maps again, we need your maps.
-
Ha! IKR? Frankly, I couldn't give two rats rears about MM. They're again homogenizing the game further, doesn't matter what you play, medium range, mid to heavy damage rules, and mid rangers got so many bumps to their max range it's almost pointless to have a sniper. It's all about that 2,3,4 and number 1 at death's door. I don't care what they think, I'm tired of considering what Tanki is actually doing, because it's more of the constant same. Glad you liked though.

Eye Of The Needle (BE GENTLE. I have NO video editing software and the TTT tank runs a little slow and a little odd, doesn't handle great.) Build of a urban spillway found in large metropolitan areas where flash flooding is mitigated by these artificial channels. Features half height obstacles, uneven terrain, and limited cover. Notes Thoughts
