I wonder if Tanki would consider new or different kits... Maybe retire some of the unpopular ones. Seems like it's been awhile since we have seen new kits.
-
Slightly off topic. I'm considering focusing my gold box attack on titans... They have an unfair advantage near gold box drop zones since they just push other tanks out of the way and take the box. I see this a lot.
-
But the next shot will still kill you, where a Medium hull will survive

On my Vampire_Medic alt, I am a total Isida newbie. If I am not paying attention, feel free to fire a shot across my nose, not up it :) Fire and freeze have figured this out with their attention getting short bursts. When I hear that, I turn around to see who needs a heal.

Most paints are useless on light hulls. You're taking a percentage of something that's small to begin with.
-
Daily mission rewards have showered me with speed boosts... Well over 500, so MY Viking is always faster than Hunter.
-
After MU sale my M3 Rico is around 20/50. Still a long way to go, but there is very good news. I can usually outgun Isida M3, assuming I see him before he's on top of me. Rico still runs dry a lot. I've learned to take a few shots then duck for cover just long enough to refill slightly, then emerge for the kill. I've beaten countless tanks who are wearing double armor using this technique

I managed 4 MU steps into my M3 Viking and M3 Ricochet. I think I am somewhere around 20/50 now on both. The step timer was a killer, and because they didn't discount speed ups I probably only realized a 35-40% savings. Still better than paying full price and/or waiting two weeks for the cool downs. Now I'm hoping for an MU sale day or days during the May sale. Time to save up those crystals, boys... .

A lot of this comes down to human behavior. Hunter is the plain hull everyone starts out with. Thus everyone is eager to try something new. This Hunter disappears by the time most other M0 (yes I said M0!) hulls unlock. People want the new hotness. It's human nature. I remember seeing a Hunter once in a Warrant Oficer battle, and it took me a while to figure out what it was. Hunter was that rare. Hunter only returns to the game in real numbers through attractive M2 and M3 kits. Vandal in particular and also Redneck, which I bought. And then there is Viking's appeal. Who doesn't want armor right? I bought Titan M0 thinking armor was everything, but got frustrated by the horrible speed. Viking gives the edge on armor while maintaining 'Close enough to Hunter' speed. Do I wish Viking was faster? Sure. Would I rather play with the speedy Wasp or Hornet and explode every three seconds? No! Just look at what tabks are on the battlefield at high ranks. It's predominantly Viking. If you're on small or tiny maps, you see Titan's and Mammoths, since speed isn't an issue. But if you are crystal poor and can only invest in one hull, bet on Viking.

Ramp. I hated my first Polygon battle. Now I like the map, except for the screwy CTF setup. So far this MU sale, I have upgraded Ricochet, Viking, Hammer, and Lumberjack. All at M3+ already. Shame they didn't also discount speed ups. Otherwise I'd be going to town. As it is my plan is to let each MU to run for 24 hours, then pay what's left of the speed up and MU again. That way I'll get 3-4 MUs into each of my items and waste a minimum of crystals on speed ups.

Got it. Eventually I'll probably drop my alts too when I get the M3 versions on this account. Since I'm not a buyer, I live and die by sales. My Twins alt, Optimus-Kirk is first on the chopping block. Sad too since I love that nick.

I thought about this as well. Very easy to cheat this particular contest. Sister, spouse, cousin, friend... "Hey sit down over here for a sec and take a selfie..." SMH Oh... And the loyalty program for Daily Missions is good, but not great. I was hoping for a bit more in terms of goodies. Rewarding Gismos with 3k crystals and double digit supplies after 4 weeks of gameplay... I won't be super upset if I break a chain somewhere along the way. Don't get me wrong. I play daily to get mission reward, so I expect to reap these extra rewards. I'm happy about that, just not super excited. .

Will be investing in my M3 Viking on the 50% MU sale this week. Done. Now at 20/50 on my way to M4

I went with M3 Hammer through Jackhammer kit, but I would recommend a more mainstream turret like Firebird M2, Isida M3, or Thunder M3 to tide you over until Commander. Marshal if you can afford Redneck kit. Not sure I agree with Stinger about Rico 2.5. Sure it helps, but as soon as you rank to Brigadier and M3 equipment starts showing up in your battles, you really need to be using M3 WITH MUs yourself. Or the OP Firebird M2. Rico 2.5 is also an expensive investment now. Save those crystals for something else. I plan on investing heavily in my Rico M3 during this week's 50% MU sale.

Since I started reading this thread, I've started killing more during drops. Of course, everyone has Double Armor, so yeah, killing is fair game.
-
^the same applies to any teammate. Especially in CTF battles. I can't tell you how many times I have tried to back out of the blue base in Rio only to jam into my teammate.
-
Not really, maybe as a support weapon, but you'll rarely take or hold the point with Hammer.
-
Viking users sometimes will be tempted to buy specialty hulls.... Wasp or Mammoth. Don't. Both of these hulls might as well have a bullseye on them. Wasp is an easy kill, and everyone knows it. And Mammoth can't escape, so with persistence and maybe some maneuvering, also an easy kill.
-
Only north of Brigadier rank, when it has trouble competing with M3 equipment. Rico M3 unlocks too late IMO
-
Hmm... Tanki made the drop zones and then lengthened the countdown between the announcement and the actual drop. The football style pileup at the drop zone seems to be exactly what they want.
-
I think you'll find that a wise choice. Not sure about Cherry paint so you might want to buy Irbis. You will be OP against other turrets anyway, but you will be frustrated by other Isidas. Adding Irbis gives you the upper hand in Isida vs Isida battles. There are A LOT of deadly M3 Isidas north of Brigadier rank.

Yeah, read this entire thread. A couple of tips that come to mind.... -shoot wasps and hornets, then shoot hunters and then Vikings. Don't bother with Titans or Mammoths. You can't win. -do NOT wander maps with one or two shots left in your clip. Empty after every engagement so that you have a full three shots for your next encounter -after you fire that third shot, back away from hot battle zones or take cover while you wait that long reload -avoid Isidas -aim for the corners of tanks, use hammer's insane impact to knock off their aim -shoot your enemies as they crest hills and top ramps. You'll be able to flip most light hulls, and spin medium ones to the side. There's much more here if you care to dig through old posts. I was in a similar boat. I bought M3 Jackhammer kit and was a total M3 Hammer noob.

I hate you so much right now... ;) .

Retired... Voluntarily? If so, why?

Additional thoughts on Race Mode Two teams of players- Racers and Obstructors All Racers must have the same Hull - this is set up when the battle is created - That way hornets are not racing against mammoths - that would make no sense Each racer gets its own lane separated by barriers. Racers cannot obstruct other racers. Racers cannot fire on other racers. Racers CAN see other racers using camera view. Scoring is pretty simple. XP and thus crystals are awarded to Racers according to their finish place and overall race time. Obstructors (the other team) are placed at random points along each track. A given track may or may not have a single Obstructor depending on team sizes. No track may have more than one Obstructor. Obstructors cannot damage racers. Neither can racers damage Obstructors. Both Racers and Obstructors can use the IMPACT of their turrets to interfere with Each other. Obstructors gain experience for every hit they land, as well as an inverse bonus of their respective Racer's placement. In simpler language, the worse the Racer does, the better rewarded the Obstructor is. MUs are disabled. Speed boosts are allowed. There are no map supplies. .
