Question for a moderator...kind of important: Will the "Complete 20 Daily Missions" tab reset every week or is it cumulative? As an example: Say I only do 3 missions in one seven day period (lazy). The weekly reward slot will show "3/20 daily missions". Will this be the same on the 8th day or will it reset to 0/20?

Only three missions per day...hmmmmm, not good. I could deal with 20 missions a week...even 25 missions a week (not happily, but I could deal with it). But I don't want to be forced to do only three per day. Some days I can play a lot, others I don't have the time. We were freed from the mission chain a few months ago, but this new system is even more restrictive than the mission chain. After a bit of freedom, I think many players are not going to want to be chained to Tanki again. ========================= Someone said they hate DM, I don't care for it either, but the real problem with DM is that I have waited and waited and waited for MM to put me into a game...it takes forever to join a DM game. ========================= When MM was implemented I predicted 18,000 to 20,000 players at peak times by mid-August. Tanki did a good job of creating events that staved off that onerous forecast...The War (really fun), Star Week (the first couple were OK but now they are a drag), a Crazy Weekend, and some other event-ish kind of things. With all these events, the player base only decreased by about 20%...they only lost 5000 to 7000 players. Now, with this new mission crap, I think the chickens are going to come home to roost. Many players are not going to deal well with this new system. And this new system is going to impact everyone in the same spot...in-game income. If it gets too hard to generate enough income to be competitive, players will eventually just quit playing. Tanki gave out too much income to keep players around after the toxic MM was introduced and now players are used to it...so they feel cheated if they don't get it or their income drops (which it just has to overall). Lower income at a time when MORE income may be needed to combat magic hulls and a heard of drones. I think a lot of folks dealt with MM over the last few months even though most players hate it. Now with incomes trashed, I think the 18K to 20K at peak times may be optimistic. My bet is that Tanki will see a 40% drop off from when they introduced MM. It was about 28000 everyday at peak. By the end of Nov, unless they do some modifications to the mission system, or pull another couple of rabbits out of their hat, I think Tanki will see 17,000 to 19,000 players at peak times...maybe even less. We shall see.

Best Halloween EVER! lol One of the most anticipated events of the year! Ahhhhahahahaahaahahaha

If you're a teacher, what would you do if a student comes late?
ByeByeBye replied to TankiNoob2000 in Archive
After a couple of warnings, I let it be known that if the offender is late again without a legitimate reason the entire class gets extra (difficult and graded) homework. Actually this is one of the rules I talk about at the beginning of the year. ...I never had to give out extra homework. Peer pressure is a wonderful thing. -
Nives, we know it is not your fault. I can't imagine working for a train wreck of a company like Alternativa Platform...lol, I just made an unintentional joke...I guess you can't imagine continuing to work with a train wreck of a company like Alternativa Platform either :) Anyway, The_Pakistani had it right...go back to bed dude...you are a short timer now.

ROTFL.....A tad late boys... Ya just gotta love Tanki.

One would think they might have thought to mention this to the English and Latin communities. It just shows how much Tanki cares about us. It also reflects on how poorly organized and poorly managed their company is. I can't imagine they could stay in business if they didn't have a monopoly on this game. If you are the only business selling refrigerators, you sell a lot of refrigerators...regardless of how you market them, take care of customers needs, or service the refrigerators once sold. I guess that's why the expression "the only game in town" was coined.

Quincy Jones with Patti Austin singing...super slick production meets soul funk in a jazz fever. More of Quincy Jones's protegees.....Brothers Johnson... Free the Funk

This game is devolving more and more into sheer luck...or rather you can buy your luck I guess. These drones are just pathetic. I will wait to comment on the missions since they will need some experience to see what they are like but, based on other Tanki "updates" they will probably be awful too. You guys at Tanki are just lost and fumbling in the dark.

Who knows with Tanki developers, but I would guess there has to be. Someone's interpretation of the V-Log was that missions will come in succession one after the other...it might be very possible for Tanki to not bother delineating the missions in that case...they should, but they are not really customer oriented. I have very low expectations when it come to updates and Tanki programming prowess.
-
Yeah, I'm quoting myself...when I posted this song I hadn't watched the V-Log and I was really looking forward to a few days of the Halloween map and maybe double golds, or some nifty treat. But I'm very disappointed. Another stupid star week, only one day of a Halloween map with a bazillion Dictators and hackers motivated by 20x gold...too much that will only go to a few hardcore golddigger pros. ...and then...crap...big mission update. Based on what Tanki has done in the past, this mission update is worrisome. Then, how many more alterations? They just nerfed Twins to sell the original back to us again as an alteration. ...not to mention magic hulls, superowers drones, and the 500lb gorilla...the toxic MatchMaking system. I'm just so tired of Tanki degrading an degrading a game I used to really enjoy playing. Here's some music that fits my mood today...Varese didn't write the most accessible music in the world. It's probably a more fitting piece of music to go along with this years Tankiween than Ready to Go by Republica (too happy)

OK...got it. So is the new mission system due to be implemented in less than 21 hours...like, restart tomorrow...at the end of today's battle time and the beginning of tomorrow's battle time?
-
So does the new mission system start tomorrow Tuesday at restart?

Two of my favorite Ry Cooder tunes...a very diverse uber-musician Playing with Ali Farka Touré. This is the whole album, but the 1st song is great and so is the last (in the spoiler). Cooder's slide work is really shown off on the last song...just brilliant. last song on the album "Diaraby"

It is hard to believe, but there is no over-dubbing here. It's just one guy, one guitar, one take. I saw Leo Kottke play once and I was just astounded. His playing sounds impossible, but he gets the job done. I read somewhere that one of his favorite guitarists is Ry Cooder :) So you are right about Ry Cooder.

Two questions: 1. When will they release a detailed explanation of missions? 2. When is the mission system going to change...what is the date that the mission update will be implemented?

A wonderful piece of music. The first two Santana album are masterpieces. Even from 1967 when the 1st album came out (50 years ago!) it doesn't sound dated, stale, or cliche...timeless. Every song on both albums is a total winner. Just the two albums cover art in the spoiler:

I just found this song. I like it A LOT. I have no idea how I missed this song...weird. Based on the number of views on YouTube (507 million), I'm guessing you all have already heard it, but maybe there is someone, like me, that missed it too....so...here 'tis I like the video, but it doesn't really fit the song exactly...maybe in a jarring, non-sequitur way. The music is heppy-peppy, kinda disco dancey. It reminds me of several old disco tunes (all good ones) In fact, if this had appeared in the disco days it would have been as big as it is now. I love the retro synth-drum pewwwwws ================================================================================================= Ah haaa! I thought something was not quite right...what an unusual voice that Jess Glynne has for a small Japanese girl, but OK, I see and hear, cool. Turns out that she isn't really the singer. She does a great job in the video and makes the song her own. But, here is a pic of the actual singer. I watched a live version with her singing and it is OK, but she goes flat in several spots...the studio version is better, so just her mug shot. She definitely fits better with the timbre of the voice in the song. I thought something was off in the video. =============================================================================================== I liked this song so much, I wanted to see someone dance to it...maybe you might enjoy that too. These two were the best I found.

I like it, a very French video :) "J'Ai Vu" reminds me of an Arrows tune "I Love Rock & Roll". I also posted the Joan Jett version of "I Love Rock & Roll" since it is probably better known...it's in the spoiler. I also hear a touch of "Walk This Way" from Aerosmith in "J'Ai Vu"...here's the RunDMC version with Aerosmith.

good tune, great band, creepy video. The video creeps me out bad for some reason....euwww

No matter what they do for Halloween it is already ruined for me in Tanki. What they did to Twins is a crime. It is totally gutted. they say its range was increased, but it actually seems like it is even shorter than before. The only thing it might be good for is mounted on Titian or Mammoth firing straight ahead with the enemy coming down a slot right into its line of fire. There is no way you can maneuver around and be effective any more. Twins RIP. I get better scores with a Firebird M1-MU2 than with a Twins M2-MU10 with Stable Plasma Alteration. Previously I almost always placed in the top four players.

One of my favorite make-out albums, "On The Threshold Of A Dream" from the Moody Blues. This song did particularly well while swapping spit. Back in the day it was groundbreaking and totally mesmerizing...there was nothing else like it. It has many changes throughout the 13 minutes and it will take you somewhere if you "Sit Comfortably" and really listen...really listen. If you can calm your ADHD and make it through this, I will personally bestow upon you honorary Hippie status...the song really does transport you into one major facet of the Hippie/Freak, Summer of Love, Flower Power frame of mind. It helped set the stage for the coming of New Age music (mostly crap) and adds more dimension to Prog-Rock which is already happening at this time but hasn't been labeled Prog-Rock yet. ...and, again, the best way to listen to this is with your face smooshed up and smooching with your honey...just sayin' For the ADHD among us that just can't manage 13 minutes of quiet and focused listening, but still want a vague understanding of the piece: After the instructional intro song "Are You Sitting Comfortably" there is and interesting poem/proto-rap at 3:36 used as a transition to the 2nd theme at 4:36 (really just a 3rd song and main theme). 5.55 sees another interesting transition to a fully orchestrated composition in a more classical vein. 8.55 is a personal favorite section...it's the first piece of music I ever played on piano. This piano segment builds and transitions into a re-statement of the main theme found at 4:36 which rises an transitions back into a very quiet acoustic guitar restatement of the beginning of the piece at about 11:52. Whoever put the video together did an excellent job and "groked" the music.
