Ohana....are you from Hawaii?

What I don't get is Tanki numbers aren't dropping. In fact they increased dramatically for Halloween and have been hanging in rather substantially since. Today is about the worst so far since the end of the month but they are still at 27000. Before Halloween it would hover around 22000. What gives? I would have thought this update on missions would drive players away...it has certainly decreased the time I play. I've dropped this account completely and only play a couple of lower alt accts and a brand new newbie account I just made....and I've already stopped trying to complete 20 missions per week on any acct. Could it be the influx of mobie players? Anybody have an idea why Tanki is doing better than they were last month?
-
I got the same mission in the alt acct I'm actually using....it is rank 10, a sergeant major...one rank below Warrant Officer1. 10000 is almost 25% of all the XP I have ever accumulated in this tanks career! This rank 10 has almost 43000XP. 10,000 score....FOR ONE CONTAINER! Stupid, not to mentions pointless...aren't missions supposed to be motivating?

In case we have another Hawaiian posting on this thread...some bait. I really need to get an injection of new Hawaiian music...I'm 20 years out of the loop. There is a long introductory portion to this song (quite good but not really Kawika) that builds to about 1:40 where Kawika really kicks in. Brilliant Island music by icons of Hawaiian music.

So cuz, you one kamaaina or what? One big ohana yeah no? :)

It's a shame that more folks on this forum don't care for jazz or even fusion because this is a real lost jewel in the fusion treasure trove. It was kind of obscure even in its own time (very few folks ever cared much about instrumental music, so if you don't, you are in good company). The band was an offshoot of The Almann Brothers Band which is odd since The Almann Bros were known for their Southern Fried Rock...but if you listen with a critical ear you will hear a hell of a lot of jazz elements in The Almann Bros and, if you know the Almanns, you may hear some of their sound in Sea Level but distilled into more straight ahead fusion. Anyway, I digress, most of Sea Level's members were musicians for the Almann's but broke off into their own thing...and what a wonderful thing it was...so tight, so clean. After 40 years it is still as fresh as ever. Some benevolent soul posted the entire 1st album on YouTube. The 1st cut in one of my favorites so just click play and away you go. Anybody that listens to the whole album gets a cookie! (Not that anyone probably cares, but this is incorrectly labeled on YouTube,,,"On the Edge" is an entirely different album by Sea Level. This is their first album and is self titled "Sea Level".)

Wow...awesome (awesome, as in amazingly good) These guys can SING, lordy!

Swing Out Sister...they were popular...very popular even, but I feel they were still highly underrated. They had unique, complex, and arguably perfect arrangements. They always use arch-musicians so each song is super tight execution. And Corinne Drewery has one of those pristine Celtic clean clear voices. All this wrapped up in into catchy danceable pop tunes. They wowed Japan but only had success in the West with their first couple of albums and that success was kinda tepid. SOS is another band that you can pick any song on any album and it is a total winner. Breakout - their biggie pop hit live (with Level 42...wow, cool) Another great live performance of "Am I the Same Girl" damn, just such a good tight band...

I haven't thought of these guys in years! Cool, thanks for th blast from the past :)

The "Claim" is now a pointless remnant. Every completed daily mission is automatically credited to your weekly mission total. The only thing it can do is harm you...it could be an automatic function at this point, but they didn't want to re-code. If you don't claim a daily reward the day you complete it, it will still be there at the next reset so you can claim the prize, but in essence, you lose one mission because it won't add on to your weekly total since it is automatically added as soon as you complete it. Weekly missions won't hold over to the next week. The rule in Neo-Tanki is claim everything as soon as you complete it. Dude, you totally sound like Riddler :)

COOL!...that sailboat in the video at 0:15...I used to own one of those in Hawaii !!! It was actually a very unique boat, one of only nine ever built. It is a Cheoy Lee 36' Vampire Yawl. and was built around 1966 (wood boat...teak). It's a Luders design and there were similar boats built, but with a ketch or sloop rig instead of the more traditional yawl rig. It's shocking to see one with Brigitte Bardot standing on the stern...so glamorous as opposed to my experience with the boat which was more involved with varnishing brightwork, the bilge, chasing dry rot, the diesel, varnishing, caulking, did I mention varnishing?

Did someone post this here already? I don't know why I know this song or how I found it...was it here?...was it just an accident? Did my daughter show me this song/video? Anyway it's posted here now and if it was on this forum previously, it's grown on me since it was posted...I'm so confused.

Tanks didn't blow up! They just flipped over or around...wow. Now there are so many very questionable changes to what used to be a very simple game. I must say the blow-up/destruction graphics were an improvement :)
-
I got that one too...I think it is worse than the 0/15 tops. And the real bummer is that it will never go away until you actuallly finish it.

Holy crap...that is astounding. Did you just get it? Man, that pretty much turns your account into top tier...you're a buyer without buying :) congrats.

Björk...hard to classify. This song somehow reminds me of a Broadway tune. I like it...it's very Björk. I first heard of Björk via The Sugarcubes. I must admit when I first heard them I didn't care much for them, but as I have gotten older and possibly wiser, I like much of what they did back in the day and what Björk has done since on her own. She is definitely one of a kind. Great post, thanks.

I know..it's a double post but this is such a good song too. Thanks so much smoky for the reminder. I love this song too and haven't played it years. "Evil Woman" is going into my monthly rotation. It is pretty much a straight forward pop tune with a very short intro that is a transition from the previous song on the album (when some albums were one musical concept) This song reminds of the stereo being cranked up, sitting on the floor of a shower room with my drummer girlfriend in Guadalajara, and playing the drum beats and accents with our hands on the wet floor in perfect sync without ever playing it together before. Splash splash, crack, boom, splash, pop, slap, splash. Weird magic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaYwqFwwIOQ&t=580s This is the full album (it's quite good for stem to stern) but Evil Woman should be the song that comes up when you hit play. If it buggers up just go to the start at 9:40 manually.

I haven't thought of these guys in years...thanks for the reminder. This is my favorite from them: There is an ambient introduction (creepy good for Halloween) which starts to transition into a more choral and orchestrated ambiance at 1:00 to about 1:30 where it starts a very big build up to the pop pay-off at 2:40. This piece does a lot like what Trance music does..it builds and builds to accentuate the hook when it finally arrives. Without the build, the hook has a million percent less impact. So at minimum, please listen from 2:30 to 3:17...this willl give you a bit of the build and the first statement of the pop theme (the hook). From here it goes through another building transition to restate the hook again at 4:22 and carries on rather dramatically to the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yt6o03K_y54 Just for grins, here is a live version...kinda cool to see them play it, even though it sounds better in the studio.

Wow!..congrats, what a lucky container. That must have been shocking. One lucky hit of 300K crystals sure makes up for a lot of "125 mines" or "Bumfartia soccer paint".

My game plan at this point is to take two weeks to clear the 10/10 and 20/20. I'll try to get 11+ in every week1 and then finish off the 20/20 in week2. By purposefully breaking them into 2 week chunks, it takes lots of the pressure off. Week2 is still do-able if you make sure you get that 11+ in week1. With a 10/10 from week1 and finishing the 20/20 along with another 10/10 in week2, you generate 7 containers..close enough I guess. Eventually the floaters will get done for a bonus container now and then. The biggest advantage to "The Two Week Split" is that you can shine the really ugly missions and just click them away the next day..for free! You only have to do 11 missions in seven days...not so terrible, and this allows seven free mission changes. The 20/20 in week2 really is kind of automatic as you tackle week2 10/10. Overall, we make less income, but not tons less and the Two Week Split makes it way less frustrating and panic-ish. It also allows the no-lifers the chance to be rewarded for dedicating their life to Tanki and they clear all the missions every week all the time....good for them. One caveat is that I have dumped this ByeByeBye account and am only dealing with my with lower ranked alt acct. The missions at higher rank are just too much to bother with. I will log in from time to time and pluck a cherry mission (like 1 repair kit), but ByeByeBye is going to take a very long time to complete a 20/20. The lower rank accts are just more fun than even rank 22 (this one). It's just a tedious grind and too fast paced...spawn, die, spawn, die, spawn, kill, die, spawn, die, ad infinitum. Too hard to play against M4 and even new M3. The overly large rank brackets spoil any real fun....too bad really, oh well...

With the new mission system it is possible to generate an extra couple of containers a week, but the vast majority, I'm gonna guess 90% of the players, will actually lose 1 to 3 containers every two weeks. Here's why. Previously, when you were on week ten, as almost every serious player already was, you got 4 containers per week or 8 in two weeks. Now, after the first couple of weeks even serious players are probably going to miss more than one mission in a week. If you do that you have automatically doomed yourself to a staggered two weeks where you get the 10/10 but not the 20/20 until the second week...it is automatic. Week1 you get your 10/10 but you have exams and like a responsible student (ahem) you study (a bit) which causes you to only complete 19/20. Week2 rolls around and you can pick up your 20/20 easily with your first mission and you will even get your 10/10, but you must wait for another week to do another 20/20. This is going to happen to almost everyone eventually no matter how much you live Tanki since the current system only allows one mission miss per week (20/21 possible mission per week) So with the current system, you miss two in a week and for this two week period you can only generate 7 containers depending on how you break up the missions...the best yeild is to do at least 11 missions in week1 so in week2 your first 9 missions clear the 20/20 and one more clears the second weeks 10/10. If broken up like this the container yeild is close to previous...7 per two weeks as opposed to 8 in the previous system. So the Tanki sycophants chime in with, "But we also have the floater mission each week!" Yeah, right like those are not hard at all...pfffff. The floaters, even if you can complete them each week will only add 2 containers to the total bringing it to 7 or 9 total depending on how you broke up the two weeks missions. And the reality is that the majority of players are not going to complete the floater every week. The weekly rewards get even worse treatment percentage wise. If you don't do your floater and you miss a couple of missions to put yourself into "The Two Week Split" you end up gettng 1/2 of the previous weekly rewards...yep 50%. 10/10 gives you 1/3 of one week and 20/20 and another 10/10 gives you 2/3 of one set of previous weekly rewards. So you end up with 3/3 out of a previous 6/3 or 50%. Again the sycophants sing, "But floaters pay too!" Yeah, if you can get them done...but chances are most floaters are going to take three or four weeks to purge. So in my analysis, the bottom line is that the average serious player has gone from 8 containers and two sets of weekly rewards, to 5 or 7 containers and 1/2 of the weekly rewards every two weeks. And, for this defacto pay-cut, players will have to spend quite a bit more time in MM slogging through missions which also equates to a huge increase in the amount of supplys each player uses. Another consequence of this system is that we will rank up much faster than previously, especially if you were doing the one mission a day system. More time spent to generate less rewards and less time between ranks to save for kts and MUs. Could it be that greedy Tanki is trying to get us to send them cash? ...hmmmmm .

Very simple, very infectious.. Be warned...if you listen to this funny little song from beginning to the end, it will stay in your brain. What you have heard can never be un-heard. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbnuusfXVV4

Been busy being unhappy about the new mission system. I need to go back a few pages to catch up but I just ran into this and thought it was pretty cool.

If you do 10 missions or less in week1...say 9/10, the 1st you do in week2 makes 10/10 & 10/20...the 10 missions then clears until the next week...so in two weeks the most containers you can get is 5 altogether...plus the blue weeklies of course. The way they have system set up as of now, the best is to do at least 10 or more missions in week1, then you start adding to 10/20 immediately in week2 and get a second 0/10. This way you have the potential of getting seven containers in the two weeks. ...disregarding the floater missions and the weeklies. And if you just finished your 20/20 during week2, the best you can do in week2 is two more containers for you new 0/10...the 20/20 will be used up. But you still get the max potential of 7 containers if you finish your 0/10...disregarding the floater missions and the weeklies. I juust found that if you do 10 missions only in week1, the 0/10 mission does not get reset in week2...it stays "completed' through week2...gotta do at least 11 missions in week1. Live and learn.
