Looks like someone drop the ball.

OK...so it's a war. Where is the War part? Isn't it just another set of challenges...that you pay to attempt? So you pay 10,000 crystals and then accumulate: 1000 stars 50 Nuclear boxes (one per map littered with campers) 7000 kills 40 Juggernauts 1 or greater K/D (man what a bummer to drop below just before the end of this thing.) 100 ODs (this one is a freebie) For 2 paints (OK...if you want more paint) 30,000 crystals (20,000 really since you pay 10,000) 100 of each supply (probably not as many as you used to get the 100) 3 containers (cool but this like just one weeks set of missions) 3 weekly containers (cool but this like just one weeks set of missions) 10 gold boxes (nice...seems like a real prize) an animated paint (OK...if you want more paint) I guess if you were planning to do the full monthly stars challenge thing, this war that isn't a war would be a good deal and a nice bonus on top of the Challenge rewards. I'm just out of the loop I guess. Generating 1750 or even 1000 stars is just virtually impossible for me, so I don't even bother. On the other hand, the buyers of Premium and stars doubler thing have their month all laid out for them :) Tanki gotta get paid :)

These silly stars events turn all modes into TDM...well, or DM Everybody is concentrating on highest kill count exclusively. Any concept of "team" is defenestrated. I really can't imagine how Tanki can foul this game up any more than they already have, but I have great confidence in them...I'm sure they are working on something as I write this that will pull the quality of game-play down even further.

I think the problem with that is no one would play the MatchMaking version. Even at best, it would split their player base and there are so few players now, it would crash TankiOnline. Tanki could care less if we like the game or not...just as long as players keep sending in money.

Boris4311, at Legend160, has made the amount of XP needed to get to Legend more than TWENTY TIMES! Yikes! This player is truly a Legend :)

Sadly, I think even though Tanki player numbers are consistently dropping with every toxic update, I think Tanki may be making more money. My guess is that the ratio of buyers to freebie players has gone way up. The freebie player sees the awful new game and walks away while the buyer is more invested and sticks it out longer. Besides crystals, kits, golds, containers, paints, and MUs, buyers buy battle passes and star bonus cards and Premium tickets, and rock the Wars and whip on the Challenges and compete in the myriad of other futzy little events. In the old days when Tanki was fun and there were thousands upon thousands more players, they didn't sell anywhere near as much "stuff". A fully MUed M1 or even M2 was rare...now you are not competitive unless you are 10/10...and probably shoveling batteries at an alarming rate into your expensive MUed drone. I am pretty sure there is a much higher percentage of buyers now than there used to be. There has to be with the zillions of fully MUed kits in every single battle...as soon as they are unlocked by rank...instant MUs means buyer. Look at all the special paint bundles they sell...thousands, yeah thousands...and for like $30 !!!! They sold around 4500 of that first paint bundle that was really just paint. That's about $135,000...for paint! And I guarantee that people buying paint are buying crystals and product kits. Look at these star passes (now you can buy stars (100 stars $30...yikes!) and how about the War participants...only the most dedicated Freebie player will get anything out of the War. The buyers are the participants with their doubler and Premium...and there are lots and lots of them based on how many stars were generated last month and the month before. Tanki has become a money machine...not a fun, simple, relaxing game. We Freebies always assumed that we were needed at least as cannon fodder for the buyers, but it now seems to me that the buyers are happy fighting each other with an occasional Freebie grape thrown in to sweeten the pot. Tanki is happy, the buyers are happy...Freebies, who cares?

All the ODs will get changed around willy-nilly eventually. cough...balance...cough cough. What's OP today and annoying will be changed later and a different hull will rise up. It's all a money grab. Hornets shouldn't be able to one shot large hulls and they probably won't at some point in the future...it all depends on how Tanki thinks they can squeeze the players best.

I now play on lower ranked accounts and have been for several months because of the toxic updates. I recently tried my higher ranked account to play with the new ODs. I have gotten much much worse at playing...I can't even come close to competing. It's almost like I die BEFORE I spawn in. It's just death after death after death. Many times I can't even pop a DA or get one shot off. I played about 20 battles and now have 6 stars, yeah, 6. Not long ago I was a top player, always in the top three or four. Now, I struggle to make 70 points in a battle. The point of this is "15 top" is impossible for me now...not like this mission will take me a long time like a super mission, it's litterally impossible and I will never complete it. That doesn't seem right at all and seems detrimental and certainly discouraging for me and probably many other players. One possible solution might be to let coming in on the losing team in the top two count for this extremely difficult mission.

When they first introduced ODs Vikings was the most powerful and OP. But now it has been gutted with a major nerf and it is still helpful, but probably the least powerful OD. It is the least powerful OD because it takes so much longer to charge than any other OD...about a minute longer in fact. One minute EXTRA in a six and a half minute battle is substantial. It does boost damage from all turrets for a short period but it isn't as much as a DD. The big whoop with Viking's OD is the increased rate of fire. That makes projectile turrets much more effective than the DPS turrets. Viking's OD is very dangerous, and if you come up against it you are probably doing to die, but Viking does't get many of them per battle...one for sure in a full battle, two if the player is doing well, and Viking can squeak in a third OD if he is shredding (like 1st place winning team shredding). I think four in a full battle is probably impossible, where four and even five is very possible with the other ODs. Hunter, Wasp, and Hornet can double that. So while Viking's OD gives the impression of being OP, it is far from it...at least in the gestalt.

If you see a very advanced Legend, post their name or ratings url and I will add them to the list. I will try to find the Top 20 Legends and I'll try to update this list at least once a week. This is not an official project or list from Tanki...just my own curiosity. I will also maintain a list of Honorable Mentions...Uber Legends 60+. I add any qualified Legend as soon as I find them, but their exact numerical rank and their order within the list may not reflect their actual status...they tend to gain XP quickly. Every single turret got nerfed on the Viking OD. Tanki reduced the damage (it's been reported from 600 to 500 or about 17%) on 100% of all turrets. What's much worse is they increased the charge time by almost a minute (I timed it). If you are absolutely shredding with a full boat supplies, you might be able to squeeze three ODs in a full battle. Two ODs in not that hard per battle and even the mult gets one OD towards the very end of the battle. Rate of fire iss the same but the damage on all turrets has been significantly nerfed. So no buffs anywhere for Viking, but the DD does stack, so with DD the OD is much more devastating.

It's novel for awhile so therefore entertaining, but it just pushes Tanki even further into the realm of luck as opposed to strategy or skill. ODs could have been a brilliant strategic tool when there was actually teamwork once in awhile, but now with mandatory 16 players per battle, no map choice, no time to employ the right equipment fot the map/team (6.5 minute battles if you start at the beginning), and with the 99% selfishly motivated players, ODs are just a gizmo to mess with. ODs have made Tanki even more hack and bash...like someone on the forum says "Mario Kart" Try the ODs...Tanki would get their feelings hurt if you didn't even try them :), but they don't make the game any more fun (well, OK, they are fun for a couple of days). Overall, they take a ruined game and keep it ruined...no big plus or minus either way in my opinion even though if given the choice I would get rid of all the ODs completely. They were introduce to sell more supplies kits for Tanki...no more universal free repair and full boat supplies every battle (like dictator now) so players will start using more of their own supplies to compensate. And now Tanki can nerf/buff the hulls and the turrets to keep everyone buying turrets/hulls and their MUs. And I've said it before, but I expect to see hull alterations, hull protection modules, and probably an OD drone...sell...sell...sell

Yep, by the clock, they added 50 seconds. The firing time is the same (previously I thought it had decreased...my bad), but they reduced the amount of damage each turret causes. VIking is still good for one or two volleys per battle if you are using a projectile turret, but with Firebird, Freeze, and Isida Viking's OD is just a minor deal...kinda like a short burst double damage. Incidentally, their math might be a tad off. 500 to 400 is a 20% decrease. 600 to 500 is about a 17% decrease. Pretty dramatic nerf, but the Tanki spin doctors always find a way to cloud whatever they do. "You are so very lucky, we amputated both of your arms...now you won't ever have to bother wearing gloves again!"

The trouble is that whatever you jump into now for a hull based on it's OD will be nerfed to crap later. Tanki has done this time and time again. I plan to stick it out with what I used before the OD came out and see what Tanki will do further down the road when the dust settles.. Mammy will get slowed down and/or it's radius decreased Titian will have the duration of the dome shortened. Dictator will have the charge time increased. Hunter will have the charge time increased (they couldn't possibly shorten the stun period...maybe they will buff it and it will become the "it" hull. Viking already met the ax. Hornet..no prediction but it is certainly up for change. Wasp...this is the one everybody and his dog are MUing asap...the darling hull of the month...beware, I smell nerf in the wind, probably charging time.

Viking is the third fastest hull but is, and has been for a year or so, less stable than Hunter and Dictator. Hunter and Viking are about equal for protection BUT, in the lower ranks you can buy kits with Vikings much sooner and for much less cost than kits with Hunter...plus Viking, about a year ago, was significantly better than Hunter in overall useability. Don't you think many many players use Viking because that is what they have and that is what ther are used to? I have an alt acct with Hunter and it is a superior hull even if you discount the new ODs. Add Hunter's superior (IMO) OD and it reigns over Viking. Like I said earlier I would trade my Viking for a Hunter in a heartbeat, but I have lots invested in Viking and can't afford to change over. I think many many players are in tthis same situation. After ODs get some time in the game, I predict we will start to see fewer and fewer Vikings. In the lower ranks there will always be tons of Vikings because of when kits become available and their relative prices: Striker at rank 7 for 32K crytals, Thor for 43.5K. The first Hunter kits unlock at rank 9 an are significantly more expensive like Predator for 79.8K. People start with Vikings and get used to them...and Viking used to be better. I have always disliked the way Dictator handles and feels, but I think it's OD may put a lot of them on the field: faster than Titian, pretty stable, kinda big and clunky but the OD is a two maybe three repairs on demand per battle along with a full boatload of drugs.....appealing. My guess is that Dictator's charging time will get nerfed as soon as Tanki has rung up enough MU sales from the hull. Overall I think Viking now comes in at the bottom of all three mid-sized hulls. Viking drivers will remain Viking drivers out of familiarity or finances...I have always been a big Viking fan, but like i said, I'd go for Hunter in a flash....probably even trade off for Dictator (just don't like the hull though...maybe the name). I guess my point is that there may be zillions of them on the field, but that may change and they are in such abundance because of how Tanki USED to be...not how Tanki is today (trashed IMO).

The lag has been increased so much since these ODs were implemented! It's like playing in a stop-action animation. I've fallen over edges...gotten killed with no one around...shoot someone, then they are 20 meters behind you...sometimes can't pick up boxes...sometimes can't do damage....and then the million times the whole thing just goes blank and you have to re-enter. I guess new code always has lag issues, but besides a crappy unwanted update, we get lagged to death on top of it.

100% spot on. :) I couldn't agree more...this has been my experience exactly. Well, I think Viking's OD is THE worst of all the ODs. From the best and most dangerous to the worst and most impotent in one over zealous nerf.

OK...two then, and maybe a lucky three in the perfect storm...for the opposition...not for me...and they aren't paying too much attention....maybe three mission mults :) Yeah, I guess Hunter's stun function is pretty much a waste with Vulcan. But then Viking with Vulcan is terrible too. A light breeze knocks off your aim and now even if you got lucky and had a clean line of fire, you wouldn't get as much bang from Viking's OD as previously. I would guess Vulcan is married to Titian or Mammoth although I do see an occasional odd couple in the Vulcan/Wasp...I guess they like the bomb :) PS Oh, I just thought of something else. To be fair I only play below rank 10 where missions are not an ordeal and can be completed in a few battles. In the last few months I've dabbled in the higher M2 ranks but I find the game-play too frenetic and mostly just luck based...maybe I'm just a crap player, but mid to higher ranks do nothing for me other than frustrate. So, anyway, my experience is really only in the lower ranks where it isn't as hard to knock off three guys in a row with Rico/Hunter on a good day...so the stun just augments that scenario.

The rate is the same but they reduced the damage from each shot. The projectile turrets are more effective with Viking, but the mele turrets are a zero now. Also the enormous charge time makes Viking's OD a bust. You would have to be doing some serious shredding to get three ODs in one full battle. Two is not too hard, but if you are not in the top four players, you will only get one OD per battle and it's effect is greatly weakened. Previously with Rico with Viking was like a lawn mower....everything it touched died. Now the OD has no more punch than a double damage...that only lasts about six seconds. I'd trade my Viking for a Hunter in a heartbeat. Hunter with a Firebird is deadly and it charges so fast you can use it over and over in a battle. The stun factor is a real asset and the fact that if you are doing well you can get five or six OD's per battle...seven or eight if you are shredding. Hunter with Rico is much more stable and, again the stun feature is killer, If you stun three around you, three die...and you can do it many times in a battle. With Viking you get one or two ODs...granted if you go up against one tank, Viking will win, and if two tanks are positioned properly Viking will win, but it's only once or twice a game. Sadly I don't have the thousands and thousands of crystals to replace my Viking...and who knows what Tanki will nerf/buff in the future. It basically discourages me from playing even more. Look at Wasp...I got nine bombs in one game and averaged about two kills per bomb. Viking's OD went from the most to the least dangerous OD.

Viking's OD is virtually non-existant at this point. It went from the strongest to the very weakest and slowest. Just because there are tons of Vikings on the field doesn't mean it is strong...it just means players haven't replaced it yet. When you have a Viking and you have spent so much to MU it can you instantly replace it with a Dictator or Hunter or Titian....no unless you are a buyer with unlimited crystals for MUs and speed ups. AAsk any Viking user now just how powerful the Viking OD is. They nerfed it into uselessness.

Using Firebird, Isida, or Freeze with Viking is basically like not having an OD at all now...well, the OD is like popping a double damage that last 1/10 as long...about 5 seconds. Yeah, Viking's OD with mele weapons is pretty much a nothing now.
