Have kits been discontinued in Garage? There has been nothing there for several days other than the 100 supplies kit.

Wiki Heros! I have been using the Wiki lately quite a bit and I must say that whoever is involved in its upkeep is doing a splendid job. The pages seem to be almost always current and that is quite a feat when faced with all the myriad of changes Tanki keeps making. In fact I've never really seen the Wiki as tight and current as it is now. It is a shame that the rest of Tanki can't be so efficient and well organized. Keep up the good work Wiki-Folk! (Give them all a raise Tanki...at least a few containers) :) --------------------------- You guys have a bad case of mergeitus. I felt the Wiki-Folk deserve some recognition from the larger population of the forum...that's why I started this topic in "General"...to let other posters read and comment on the Wiki-Folk's good work. Now that this is merged it will mostly be just the Wiki-Folk that see it. Why not let topics sit in their original place for at least a day or two if not a few hours to let the general population read and possibly respond. What and where is the harm in merging a topic AFTER it has run it's course where ever it was started?

The matchmaking mechanic would not allow a battle to be created so anyone that tried to play on the S.E.A. server set-up just got to sit and wait for the three minute time out. There were never 16 players online and trying to get into a battle at exactly the same moment. So for the last week or so (maybe longer) s.sg.tankionline.com is offline and the site can't be reached. Tanki in S.E.A. ? Nope, gone. Too bad. ...Yet another glob of mismanagement by Tanki/AlternativaPlatforms

So has the update been implemented yet or not?

I'm kind of ashamed to say it, but my family and I spend $2000 to $2500 a year on video games...not a penny to Tanki...ever...and never. I was about to start funding my daughter's and my own Tanki account a couple of years ago just about the time they instituted the paint separation update. I waited a bit to see how the update went and it has been down hill ever since. My daughter became disgusted after all her equipment got nerfed into scrap and lost any desire to play Tanki. I kept playing but decided to see what all the constant updates were about. The game kept getting worse and worse so I never sent in any real money. After matchmaking the game went into the toilet. Now I don't even use this account any more since missions are too difficult for so little reward and I have no desire to spend money on something that will never be the thing I paid for. I still play a little in the lower ranks, but it's like Agar.io...a time waster, not a serious gaming endeavor like Tanki was to me originally. Had Tanki stayed the same and not changed every single turret and hull, I probably would have pumped in $200 a year for my account and $200 for my daughter (she might have still liked Tanki)...my other kids might have gotten interested in the game and, if so, I would have funded their account too. This is not huge money, but I wonder how many buyers Tanki has lost by constant toxic updates. I can't see why anyone but an actual newbie to the game would send money into Tanki knowing what Tanki will do to whatever you buy...but I guess they do :)

It's hard to believe that a business can exist that sells you an item one day... ...and the next day the item has changed completely.

When we players see balance we think that Tanki is trying to make the turrets even and balanced against eachother...just like the word implies. What Tanki means is that they are changing the parameters of the turrets to change the dynamics of the game. Update is the real term they mean and it has NOTHING to do with "balance" or even "re-balance". Let players spend lots and lots of crystals on MUs, Protections and Alterations. Then change everything around so players spend lots and lots of crystals on whatever turrent is currently in the OP slot. This OP slot has been recently held by Firebird. Everybody and his dog run Firebird now...previously it was Freeze. Even Vulcan had top OPness at one point but it's been nerfed into semi-uselessness aloing with Twin and Magnum. Real balance has nothing to do with what Tanki does to turrets. Balance for them is marketing...ugly, unprincipled, and even unethical marketing to be sure, but only marketing. Study up kids to find the new OP turret after the coming two or three more rounds of Tanki "balance updates" to find the new darling turret of the game...and BuyBuyBuy!

I wouldn't want to see it nerfed....it's fine as it is, but Shaft is the most annoying way to die. From no where and almost always at a critical moment...poof, you're gone. Irritating.

No. I doubt I'd pay 5000 crys for one of the paints if it could be purchased in the garage. Paying 5000 crys for a significantly less than 50% chance of winning it as a prize is out of the question. It is just amazing to me that Tanki would offer only paints as a reward...maybe paint and a few thousand crys...some containers...just, more. I like the faction paints better than the animated ones, but they are only temporary...how lame is that?

2 Euros? Wow, big operator. He must be clipping quite a few gulible suckers though or at least he has persistence. He plasters this spam almost everywhere in the low ranks.

I play in the lower ranks now and I have seen this same message over and over, day after day for several weeks in many different battles. [removed] I know this is not the Russian Forum...I don't speak Russian, but I'd hate to see some poor soul get scammed in Tanki, Russian or Whatever Country. Any comments other than this is not the Russian Forum, or Violations section is closed refer to Cust Serv, or just a plain old simple delete? I hope a moderator can pass this along to somewhere it should be noticed.

I think you summed up this sad state of affairs very well. I'm not sure about the "implement events/challenges" played fairly dependent on MM, but it is a moot point since MM is, like you say, here to stay...sigh. :( Nothing lasts forever. Cheers
-
How can we sway the skewed opinion of the developers of Tanki to get rid of the toxic MM and to move the game from reactionary to strategy like it once was? I don't know this and I'd sure like someone to tell me what can be done instead of my constant whining, moaning and complaining about what has been done to the game I once loved.

So simple! OMG, SO SIMPLE! Thank you for your insight...it's SO SIMPLE!

1. Maybe a pinned notice in "General" with a link or directions for a poster might be helpful. Some people might be unfamiliar with the forum or some might not realize that complaints would be located in the "News and Announcements" section. 2. How would anyone know that?...maybe put a blurb (white words in your quote) in the defunct "Violations" section along with the rerouting to the Russian forum. ---------------------------------------------------------- PS The link you just gave to report inappropriate nicknames is nothing but the help desk form. ...You know, I just don't care enough to bother trying to help any more...it takes up too much of my time and only adds to my frustration with the game. I've wasted over an hour with this so far...too much. If Your-Mom-Guzzles-MaleChickens likes his name, and Tanki doesn't have an easy way to combat foul (bad pun here :)) nicknames, it's OK with me...I'm not going bother anymore.
-
First off, why is the "Complaint Book" in "News and Announcements" and not "General-Game Discussion"? Second: The Eng violation section is closed. It is extremely difficult to access the Russian Forum to lodge any kind of game violation notice...I quit trying after about fifteen minutes of trying to navigate locked topics, translations, and other hurdles in the path to send you guys notice of a ligitimate, easy to adress game violation. In the spoiler is a player that has an offensive nickname... It seems to me that the forum should have some sort of section for stuff like this even though it might take up some moderator time...maybe get a dedicated Violation moderator or two. You only pay them in game stuff.

Cringe is the word for the theme...at least in many places around the world. Please don't make the next theme Gay vs Straight. Why not go with Red vs Blue, or Tooth vs Claw, or Square vs Triangle, or even something invented like Pliganfort vs Bafeldom? As far as the contest itself goes, it's another underwhelming set of prizes. The paints are nice but, for me, I wouldn't pay 5000 crystals for one. And as a contest, after paying 5000 crystals, my faction might lose leaving me with zugatz. I just noticed that even if my faction wins, there is still a good chance I get noting for my participation if I don't meet or surpass the average number of stars collected by my faction. On top of that even the faction paints disappear after the contest!...very lame. Would it have been prohibitive to give the winning faction 10000 crystals or ten containers on top of the paint? It will be interesting to see how many participants there will be...my guess is that we will not be seeing too many pink and blue paints for this poorly conceived contest.

Massacre is so boring now. It is just another Brest. Too far to go to get any kind of score. It went from unique and open to protected bases and now the buildings. For some players, like me, it was their favorite map since it had a dynamic feel as you could run around and around. Now it's drive from base to the opposition base...repeat for seven minutes...game over. Tedious, bland, homogenized, and BORING.

Most of these don't look very "random" in terms of being picked. They look more or less like they were chosen based on some sort of unquantified criterion.

Happy V-Day all. :) I too had been hoping for a deeper MU discount...oh well, 25% is better than no sale at all.

I agree that real newbies probably won't send in money until they get a very good feel for the game...really after they basically become pros. But, that newbie-ish-now-semi-pro that does like playing Tanki might easily just start a new acct to start over as a fully funded godzilla-juggernaut. I've started over a dozen times already in a couple of years. To me, knowing what I know now about Tanki, there is a real appeal to sending in $25 for an M1 killer kit MUed to 5 or 6 and see how far the big head start gets me before I get bogged down in the tediousness of higher ranks. I think this massive head start might take a player through to rank 20 or so as top level competitor. Somewhere between rank 17 and 20 the playing field would level out and the rank brackets begin to be oppressive no matter what...unless you are a re-buyer and take advantage of the drones, batteries, supply kits, alterations, MUed protection modules, or even a diverse garage. So, to reiterate, yeah, I agree with you that it would be experienced players starting over or starting an alt account...but Tanki still gets the cash and the game keeps getting funded. And I don't see these few godzilla-like alt accounts driving away any real newbies because there just wouldn't be that many godzillas on the battle field at one time. A godzilla would bash through the first six of seven ranks in a few hours leaving the newbie battles to the actual newbies...a few of the newbies disturbed in the wake of godzillas devastation might have had a "OMG...what the hell was THAT!" moment, but I doubt it would be enough to put them off the game.

I've seen many fully MUed rigs at ranks 9 and 10...even as low as 8 once in awhile. Painful to battle with, but buyers pay real money to be so OP...good for them and Tanki. What I'm amazed at is that now a buyer can start an account, play for fifteen minutes, and with an injection of real money, have a Smoky/Titan fully MUed (M2 really) at rank 3! M0 equipment for only two battles in their Tanki career! I am astounded at the idea of an M1-MU10 Smoky/Titan battling Recruits and other beginner ranks....just too funny. Battling against ranks 1, 2, 3, and 4, an M2 Smoky/Titan would be way more devastating than the Juggernaut. How awesome is that? I bet it won't happen too many times because the buyer/player would rank up very quickly...just a matter of a few hours...so there is little danger to the game, and any real newbies will be safe and sound for the most part, but that MU10 Smoky/Titan could happen now and then. :) I said I would never send any money into Tanki because of the way they change/ruin any equipment you buy, but this idea of an M2 Smoky/Titan at rank 3 has got me seriously considering going back on what I said and buying the kit and a bushel of crystals. The massive OP-ness wouldn't last too long because eventually you'd rank up to the point where there would be actual competition, but it would be a stupendous slaughter for a couple of weeks....FUN :)
-
:) I guess I'm a tad slow. I haven't really looked at low rank kits in the shop for a very long time...it was kind of a shock to me anyway....slow. :)
-
...you can get M1 equipment at rank 3? Yep...check it out: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Product_kits A buyer can now buy a Keeper kit with M1 Smoky, Titian, and Smoky protection at rank 3...that is at 500XP. Just for grins I started a new account (KissMyKeeper) just to see how long it took to get to rank 3...less than 20 minutes. I was in one full battle and two partial battles. I'm pretty sure you could make it to rank 3 in two complete battles :) Since our hypothetical buyer is already shelling out 2.99 for the kit, he will probably buy some crystals too, right? For another twenty bucks he can buy enough crystals to bring Smoky and Titan to M1-MU5. For a heftier investment of $70 he can fully MU Smoky and Titian to an M2 level...at rank 3!!! Granted, he would probably be way past rank 3 at this point as he wouldn't have enough crystals to go with many Speed-Ups, but still... Imagine the devastation of an M2 Smoky/Titan at rank 3...Yikes! This actually kinda makes me wanna send Tanki $25 so I can give being a real juggernaut a try. If our buyer is more of a speed demon he can get a Wasp kit with Isida (Vampire), Smoky (Savage), or Firebird (Firefly) at rank 4 which can't be more than a couple more battles and another 15 or 20 minutes away. To be fair, all four of these kits are available to non-buyers at very low ranks too...rank 6...good luck getting enough crystals by rank 6 though. Another surprise piece of info from newbie-land is that Daily Missions start the moment you create an account...this is no big deal since Missions always started at very low ranks, but it is a small change. I am also very happy to report that there seem to be actual newbies in beginner ranks again. Previously, the last account I made four or five months ago, the players were all pros, or at least very experienced and a real newbie didn't stand a chance. As of my playing today, I would say the majority of players were probably new players. This is great news since it bodes well for Tanki staying in business despite the poor development decisions they are prone to make. Organic growth in Tanki...whoda thunkit?

I find the rewards for this second set of Challenges very underwhelming...ho hum. I want containers. Even if I get another 125 mines, there is at least a chance I might get something I really want with a container. I really don't care for paints much or the standard DD, DA, S, M, or Batteries (although the 100 of each supply is a very nice reward). Crystals or the chance for crystals is what will motivate me to spend time playing Tanki.
