Not at all. Every other parameter for mk7+ is better. That far outweighs the very small extra chance mk7 has over mk7+. Heck, the critical damage dealt by mk7+ probably makes up that difference.

I've seen a Wasp push a Titan away from guarding a cap-point in Rugby .... so there does not seem to be much of a down-side to the heavyweight augment. -

Well it only counts in MM and we can't choose maps in MM. Have not seen Rio for > 3 weeks, and even if it actually appeared - how you figure the other 15 players just gonna watch you catch your own golds.

The thing is... the short-range turrets will not be able to make optimal use of the OD. They need to get into the danger zones way more often and thus might spend more time re-spawning. Plus there's travel time on the larger maps. Hornet+long-range turret does not have those issues nearly as much. They can activate OD and start killing whenever they have LOS - even from other side of the map. -

I do not. The team overall might - but - certainly won't help me complete kills missions and might even push me out of a top-3 mission. And if both teams have hornets (which they usually do) it's a wash. Not sure how you figure I benefit from a hornet on my team. it is nothing like having an Isida or a dictator on your team. Not even close. What facts? You haven't given ANY facts. It's been all opinions so far. And Drones ARE OP. But it's not mutually exclusive. Drones AND OverDrives can both be OP. -

My point was 50% protection was available more than a few years ago - does not matter that ALL of your modules could not be 50%. And some of the more expensive paints even allowed up to 3 x 50% protection. You keep sidestepping how Wasp and Hornet can be used in relation to their health. Both wasp and hornet have same low health. But to damage/kill anyone with bomb the wasp HAS to get close. The hornet does not. Huge difference. Killing the player... well, most hornet players do not just challenge others to open combat. They can easily snipe from afar under cover. And because they can get one-shot kills there is no retaliation (assuming they stayed in the open after taking the shot). Titan dome... yeesh ... it's been neutered so badly it's a joke. With FIVE direct counters from other ODs it's been relgated to defusing wasp bomb and other Titan domes. And since TO is NOT getting rid of supplies - you have to look at hornet OD - whether you like that or not. Without hornet OD, it's possible to survive a shot from enemy with DD. Of course the people defending the hornet OD are all (heavy) users of the hull. They will be directly affected by any nerfing. So suck it up buttercup - Titan & Hunter & Mammoth all have undergone that and moved on. You've had (way more) than your day in the sun. Time to play on a more even footing with the rest of us in the sandbox. -

Players could have 50% protection long before ODs were introduced. And that was with fewer turrets so odds of having protection vs many enemies was much greater than it is today. I expect hornet OD to have some limitations or counters - it does not. Of course it depends on many factors - but the FACT is, hornet OD can be available more than 3 times per battle. If dictator on team they could easily have it 6 times per battle, for up to 20 seconds. That's a LOT of killing time. "Wasp can use it's OD at any range"? WOW. Using the "powerup" as a distraction and getting zero battle-points while the hornet will be generating kills, more OD and battle points. Maybe if the wasp could throw the bomb you might have a point. But it can't. That you think those two are comparable is just ... amazing. That you don't believe my estimate is irrelevant. One just needs casual observation of battles to see that long-range turrets equipped on hornet far outweigh the number of short-ranged turets equipped on hornet. It's not even close, so for you to deny this because it undermines your position is just willful ignorance on your part. Your magnum comment makes no sense. I say hypocrite because you claim other posters have bias and yet your main hull is hornet - any nerf will affect you significantly. It makes your entire post seem disingenuous and self-serving. The mod was giving a hypothetical. And all it took for mammoth to get nerfed was a few gold-diggers crying about being shut out of golds. And that was for such a minor side-show of the actual game. -

A few years ago? What is your definition of a few? It also bypasses spawn protection, Titan dome and DA. Sounds like significantly more than "combating high protection modules at higher ranks". Wow, are you ever naive. My Viking has had OD 3x in some battles. Hornets will have it a LOT more than that. So does Wasp - but it actually has to get close to use it's OD. But with augments and drones this is irrelevant. Only a fool hornet charges out in open where it can be killed readily. Most hornet users are a little smarter than that. Just because YOU use a melee turret does not mean most do. IMO 75% of hornet players use Rail or Magnum or Gauss or Thunder or Vulcan whereby they have no need to place themselves in danger. LOL. A hornet-Magnum with OD can one-shot a fully protected light hull, even without the use of DD or anything else. With 5 counters to Titan Dome, it can barely be considered "defensive". The power of hornet to Titan is not even close to being comparable. Pot, meet kettle hypocrite. -

At the very least they need to remove it's spawn-killing ability. It is ridiculous they allowed that. And the fact that there's is NO counter to the OD is just dumb. Look at Titan - mammoth, Hunter, wasp, hornet and another Titan can counter it. Nothing u can equip will mitigate the ability of hornet to one-shot an enemy. If that isn't OTT then I do not know what is. I would not be surprised if they did nothing. Hornet is their "darling". -

There have been plenty of suggestions on how to nerf the hornet. If you have read even a small portion of the posts on the forum you would have seen those suggestions. - Completely remove it's ability to ignore spawn protection. - Slow down it's passive OD generation - Take away it's ability to boost OD generation while OD is active - Remove or reduce it's ability to ignore one or more of the following - Titan Dome, DA or protection modules. The above suggestions have been mentioned numerous times. What does a forum posters's programming abilities have to do with making a suggestion for the game have to do with ANYTHING? There's a whole section of the Forum devoted to "suggestions". Perhaps that should be removed? I'm pretty sure 90% of the suggestions are NOT coming from programmers. -
Since it's the most popular hull in the game - good luck with that. Irrelevant. TO has never been worried about that in the past. Why should they worry about that now. IF an item in the game is OP (it is) then TO needs to balance it regardless of what the players using it say. Otherwise, in time, the game will become hornet-Online as everyone switches to THE OP item in order to "keep up with the Joneses", and the rest quit in frustration.

So... those other maps I mentioned above should be removed? FYI... those smaller maps like Sandal and Sandbox are... .... boring. You spen most of your time dying and spawning because of so many tanks crammed into a small area. Why don't we just add ping-pong, or as Riddler suggests... Island. Should get plenty more kills amirite? And you kind of prove the point I've been making for a while - Challenges ruin battles in MM because in the end, all that players care about is Stars - and that is really a sad future for this game.

The biggest difference is you have a chance to counter the bomb. Hunter or Titan sitting in base can't prevent the hornet from doing it's killing. Since murder-hornet OD ignores DA and ignores modules and ignores Titan dome and ignores spawn-protection, you can't counter it at all. A magnum-hornet or Gauss-hornet can clear out the base and still have plenty of time left from that 20 seconds to do plenty of spawn-killing. And for the wasp trying to zip in and drop the bomb? A viking or hornet with OD ready can easily take care of that. The bomb can be effective - but it needs to get placed. Hornets and vikings do not need to get close to be effective.

It needs an impact nerf. Look at Autocannon. Not saying it needs that much nerf but - allowing a turret to fire as fast as Thunder with double the impact is just stupid. -
Skylark is fairly big but is rated for 24 players - just like Highways and Solikamsk and Brest and Aleksandrovich and Chenobyl and Kunger and Osa. People leave Highways because it is seen as a campers paradise. I dislike it a LOT for that, but enjoyed Skylark when it was often in use.
