    Curve.... meh...

    Complaint Book

It's a lot easier to get kills when targets don't have protection. ;) Remember when Magnum came out and no one had the modules...

Damage does not mean much if you don't hit. The curve on Gauss regular shot means it will miss a LOT more than smoky will. Plus... you can see where Gauss shot comes from. Smoky you can't.

Have you fired both as a player? Do you feel they perform the same? Smoky also has 1-in-5 shots as critical...

Episode 220 of the V-LOG is live!

Been discussed to death. Shaft can 1-shot up to medium hulls of same m-level. Gauss can 1-shot a light hull ~ 10% of the time. Apples and oranges. It is irrelevant how much damage a non-fully charged shaft does. Go by Gauss module if they scare you so much.
  6. So is there a new map being introduced called "Perfectly-Flat-No-Cover"? Otherwise - good luck trying to use it. The current 3 seconds is an eternity for the Vulcan-user.

    Tankoins in weekly containers

You get a MAX of 6 container per week. Many accumulate less than that because of 1st weekly mission and because of the 20-mission weekly mission. You think accumulating weekly containers is not time consuming?

    Let's Discuss Overdrives

I chose Vulcan/Freeze (added Gauss later - but - Gauss also sux with Hunter) for my alt and plan to stick with it. I feel confident Dictator OD will mesh well with Vulcan - Dictator OD useful for any ranged turret - unlike Hunter which is wasted on long-range turrets. And picking a new turret not really cheaper than picking a new hull. Gotta start from scratch on either. IMO it's a "suppresive" turret. On Defense it whittles away at single or multiple tanks as they approach - forcing them to use RK way sooner than they'd like. At mid-field it can suppress defenders - again - forcing them to use RK much sooner than desired. Also, with 50% weak damage it is surprisingly good at long ranges. It's just the awful spin-up and slow rotation that kills it up close. I've used Hunter OD on targets and they are moving before I start doing damage. It's that bad with Hunter.

    Tankoins in weekly containers

Hardly. What is the definition of "quite a bit of effort"? - 2 weeks? - 1 month? - 1 QTR year? - 6 months? Anything more than 1 month surpasses "quite a bit of effort" in my books.

    Let's Discuss Overdrives

On my alt account the vulcan and hunter combo is just trash. Looks like Dictator is calling on this 30% sale...

    Tankoins in weekly containers

Many players do not get 6 weekly containers per week. That first weekly mission gets done every other week at best for players who are not "no-lifers". And the even-more-difficult daily missions make the 20 missions un-doable weekly for many as well. What is your definition of "much higher"? 3 is a pittance that will not add up to anything even over 6 months. And you are surprised players are disappointed by this, when TO made such a big deal about it? It's pretty hard to get excited about something that won't happen for ... 6 months? 1 year? That's how long it will take most players to save enough tankoins to buy anything. For all-intents-and-purposes most players still do not have access to Shop items.

    TANKOINS - New Currency!

Small is the key word here. 3 coins per weekly container. Does not come even close to justifying any kind of price increase.
  14. Had a Legend Twins on my team that never turned the turret. Not once. :o
  15. I have Gauss on one account and striker on this one. Gauss is somewhat better - even taking into account different m-levels. Problem with Striker is, the lock-on can't be MU-ed. It stays at same value until you get all the way to next m-level. So I really believe Striker could use a small buff in lock-on time so salvo can be used a bit more often.
  16. With that it should be able to remove ALL active ODs - not just some of them. I mean, how would Hunter ever beat a Viking that had active OD?
  17. Of the target? Seems fair... Same for Rail when alt is equipped? ;)
  18. Again - you assume Gauss always has DD and enemy has no protection of any kind. Unfair comparison. Rail can do the same thing - especially with alteration. Do you consider that very short light emitted as a warning? To those facing other direction? Trying to gauge power of a turret based on protections equipped is a huge mistake. Those protections are equipped for a reason. Same can be said for lack of protections... Gauss is new so many players don't have the module. They will slowly appear over time as players save up for them. Same thing happened with Magnum. I disagree. And only an m4 can deal 2000+ damage, and only maybe 10% of the time. So you'd advocate a "warning" only on m4 versions? Does Rail with alt need a laser? Does up to 2240 damage correct?
  19. Of course the ability of activating something successfully has to be considered. To disregard that is just foolish. A Hornet can activate under cover, come out and then use it. Same with Viking. Hunter has no such luxury. It has to activate with DLOS, short distance AND a delay. The "scout radar" part of Hornet OD is a minor part of the OD. The important part is the offensive part - you know - the part where it can attack enemies and kill them with little resistance. It would be like saying freezing is major part of Dictator OD - when it is very obviously a minor part. I get the point of the topic - you have a bias against the OD because you don't seem able to avoid it's effects. Try a different strategy to combat Hunters - they are not nearly as omnipotent as you pretend they are.
  20. So you are using numbers whereby attacker has DD but defender does not have any protection? Now do Thunder with DD. It can get off 2 shots in slightly more time than Gauss can aim once. Does that 0.3 seconds make a big difference? And remember, Thunder does not need to sit in open while it reloads... Stock Striker probably should have a minor buff to it's lock-on.
  21. Splash only matters when there are multiple targets. Hitting A target is the priority. Getting others is a bonus. Well Striker fires all 4 with 1 lock-on. Even if only 2 or 3 hit it's doing AT LEAST as much damage as Gauss. Last point is not true. Salvo can work on any target that is not within 2.8 seconds of cover. Does it work 100% of the time? No. Neither does Gauss (anything between target and Gauss will interrupt it - even team-mates) Nothing mentioned so far justifies giving a warning. Only 1-shot turrets need that kind of handicap, and 90% of the time Gauss will not 1-shot undamaged tanks.
  22. Seriously? Can you see where smoky or Thunder shots come from? You can't compare Gauss and Striker - way different amounts of damage. Striker does almost double damage that Gauss does. And Gauss has aim-time of 2 seconds + reload of 3 seconds. Striker has aiming time of 2.8 & reload of 1.8. Pretty much the same isn't it?
  23. Gauss does not do even close to same amount of damage that striker does. That's main reason striker has a laser. I'm all for lowering the lock-on time for striker as the salvo still rarely gets used. That's same thing for most turrets. Unless you are looking directly at Rail you won't see it coming either. Smoky can sit in bush and pepper you 4-5 times before you can figure out where it might be. Then you are dead. Main thing you have not yet answered is ... why do you need a warning? If it can't one-shot most tanks why is a warning necessary?
  24. I love how all ODs except Hunter have weaknesses. Titan with ability to camp in enemy base and spawn-kill is not OP? And you call Hornet OD assistive? It Is entirely Offensive - a Rail with DD active can one-shot most hulls on the battle-field. How you describe that as "assistive" is beyond words. The only time it is not lethal is in the hands of noobs. Hunter... - short range - shorter than all but the very close range turrets like freeze, fire and Isida. Most turrets can do significant dmg or kill hunter before it can activate - does not damage enemies in any way like wasp or Mammoth - does not re-set ODs - a Viking that survives the 3 second stun can activate OD and kill Hunter in 1 second - does not affect all ODs - at very least does not turn off Viking OD even though it might have stunned it :o - effect is blocked by obstacles and elevations in terrain. A tank 5m away but behind a small wall is not affected. - Has a 1 second delay that is long enough for turrets like Hammer Duplet or Rail to one-shot the Hunter before EMP goes off - even after they have pressed shift. - 3 seconds is not that long - at best the Hunter might be able to kill 1 target if correct turret equipped. Viking can kill many enemies in the 7 seconds it has. Have you seen what Magnum or Thunder can do to grouped enemies with the rapid-fire splash? Hunter's OD has so many weaknesses, that to classify it as "unfair" boggles the mind. If you are constantly sucumming to it's effects maybe it's time for you to adjust your game strategies.
