Mammoth won't be capping as many flags in CTF - that extra 5 seconds makes a significant difference when you are trying to get away with the flag. -

Did you miss the part about cutting duration in half? Only lasts 5 seconds now. 1.5 is not really = 2. Think I'd prefer to have the 10 second duration. Will have to see how it performs. Guess melee turrets won't be getting so close to my Vulcan so often... -

Yeah stadium is like a smaller version of highways. Gauss might actually work in this map... seen it... once I think. And... have not been placed in Chernobyl once yet. Weird... -
Are you playing between the hours of 9:00am & 5:00pm? Some of us work those hours and thus play evenings. The number of active players joining Pro-battles in evenings is much, much smaller. And maps like Hill, Wave, Noise? Bleccchh. Might as well play MM - Noise is absolute trash. Tanki is monotonous. It's just a grind for crystals with everyone wanting to get these 7-minute battles over with as quickly as possible so they can get on to the next 7-minute battle and grind some more. Where did all these ppl with short attention spans come from? Oh wait a second... didn't Mobile just come around recently? Hmm.... And the maps in MM - there may be 30+ maps in there - but we are not getting the entire grouping randomized. They are rotating groups of them in batches. it's not uncommon to get same map 4-5 times in one day, and never see many of the ones you like for 3-4 weeks.

I agree. Matchmaker has been poorly implemented. Problem is - they don't really have a large enough player-base to adopt it. Thus they force players into half-finished battles or have a rank-spread of 10. Part of the problem is - they listen way too much to impatient players who would rather have 7 crappy battles than 4 good battles. And yes - DM is boring. Usually just mosh-pits where you die 15-20 seconds after spawning. And that includes JUG - which I have not played since the first week it came out.

Ok - happened again last night. No damage but OD gone. Guess that's an ok trade off for surviving. And I zapped the wasp (pun intended) before it got away. But really - that should be a Hunter function. That bomb is for doing damage, not acting as an EMP. -
Well 2013 is a loooong time ago. And what were the rank brackets in "the old days"? The game certainly is more complicated now, and a lot of the "updates" they've made were implemented poorly. But are you really pining for the days when Sergeants played against Colonels and Shaft had no laser? And the reason we now have 150% total protection is because there are 14 turrets, and two of them have dual-type damage.

OH... well... yeah... if you are ahead of the curve on the equipment side it tends to perform better. I don't think anyone is suggesting Gauss replace Shaft with ability to do something like kill a medium hull of same m-level. I was suggesting it have ability to kill a light hull of same m-level - the relatively long aim-time + reload time justifies this. Or give it a completely different mechanic - like replace splash with a brief stunning effect on sniper-mode. As is it does a bit of a lot of things but nothing really well, IMO.

They really messed up with Viking - it's the only OD dependent on turret mechanics. How the heck does RCL get 11 shots to the stock 12 shots when it's supposed to be 40% slower? How exactly does Thunder work versus say... Isida? Does thunder get... - many extra shots (12 total instead of 3) within the 7 seconds? - any damage boost? What does Isida get using same OD? - ? - ?

I don't understand what you mean by this. You will need to explain differently. I might have only 2 or 3 hulls all the way to Legend. In your suggestion, is it possible I get a mission to use a hull I don't have?

Really? Was using my Mammoth in battle last night. Wasp dropped bomb and I survived because I had OD activated. Maybe then my OD disappeared - but - might have attributed that to it ending due to 10-second timer. Not sure. On a side note - have they tweaked the kill-zone radius for Mammoth OD? I was under impression it was 7m - don't need to touch. But last night, it never killed until I was practically on top of the enemy. -
Play-style preference. It also allows smoky to become a bit more of longer-range turret with more frequent criticals. I use it for larger maps because my other options are not great at long range. Smaller map I switch to Ricco. In short - the fire-rate for auto-cannon does not increase in proportion to the regular-shot damage reduction. I think they nerfed the regular shots even more after it's initial release. It seemed odd you justified smoky's non-improvement when using Viking OD, What are your thoughts on balance when compared to how the other turrets listed above perform with Viking OD? ----------------------------------------------------- EDIT - I thought smoky auto-cannon was disabled with Viking OD - so... why does it not have same # shots as stock?

Used it with my hornet - did not go well. You have to sit still for sniping mode - if you are on a crowded or smaller map you often get killed before you finish sniping. If you can pick your map it would probably be more useful. But trying to snipe in Bobriusk etc... meh.

Pro-battles... - no missions or rewards - usually no special events - very few players - Legends... sure - they prob have a decent garage and can afford to play Pro-battles. low to mid-rank players will see a drastic nerf to income. No one (except maybe you?) was complaining the old tanki was too boring. If I wanted to play Super-Mario-Kart I'd buy an Xbox or Playstation. Not only is MMS not compulsory - the entire game is not compulsory. And as we've all seen - less players is great for the game - right? What do you care if we "complain" about all the poorly implemented updates?

Right now it's m2.2 - I usually wait for sales to MU - and never use speed-ups. Oh that's just great :wacko: I bought it mostly because they claimed it was a sniper turret. Thank goodness I only wasted 74k on it. <_< 10/10??? it just came to garage and we've had 1 sale day for MUs... you must have spent a wack of crystals to get it to 10/10 that quickly.

So hammer getting 16 shots @1000dmg each is now comparable to smoky getting 20 shots with ~ 5 of them doing 1000 dmg? I don't think so. <_< Or 11 LCR for Railgun???? :o Hmmm... 15 smoky tickles + 5 smoky hits versus 11 LCR.... it's not even close. Smoky auto-cannon is better than stock in some situations - but - if you do the math 1/2 second at a time, they exchange periods of one being better than the other. In the time it takes to kill a medium hull they are fairly close. Not anything close to what you suggest.

Tried it again on my Brigadier account - it is not good. Switched to my Vulcan-Mammoth next battle and went 16-1 in a CTF. But hey - they got my crystals. :(

Not knowing where the shot came from in no way makes it OP. Any turret can shoot you from the flank or behind, and you most likely will not know where it came. With this logic EVERY turret is OP. You are comparing Gauss to a turret that can do 2k damage (sans DD) in < 1 second? Gauss (m4) takes 5 seconds to snipe once and reload. Doing < 2k damage.

Until the Wasp OD with a bomb was released the ratio of hornet to wasp was probably 4:1. it is less than that now. How is a hunter supposed to EMP the hornet when 1) it does not know where it is and 2) it is significantly slower. They will never give hornet OD anything like you suggest. That's a non-starter. Give it up. And since there are still plenty of hornets around at my rank - where everyone has 3+ hulls, it can't be as weak as you imply. Else everyone would use one of their other hulls.
